Is Lantian a person, a wandering ghost? Or perhaps some other unknown entity?! I can't remember! Lantian feels like she's lost some of her memories; or perhaps her memories are too complex, so she's forgotten some. She's heard that other people's travels are just about completing a mission, experiencing a life, and performing an act in each small world.
