Chapter 9 No one sleeps tonight

There was constant noise coming from the storage room, so noisy that Jack couldn't even watch TV properly.

“Click, click.”

"Iron Driver, what are you doing so late at night?" Jack couldn't stand it anymore and asked Ling Luxian quickly.

That was the sound of Ling Luxian fiddling with guns in the storage room.

"I'm going to classify these captured guns. If I need money later, I can make some money. If you guys are a bunch of losers, you shouldn't stop me."

The habit of picking up scraps to supplement family income is ingrained in the Chinese people's DNA.

Regardless of gender, age or status, everyone has had this experience. Regardless of how much money you can sell it for, even if it can be exchanged for a candy, it would be good.

Some people even make a fortune from this.

Jack walked into the storeroom and said, "Still thinking about your old clothes?"

Ling Luxian said without even looking up, "Yes, you can sell second-hand goods for tens or even hundreds of dollars."

Jack was sweating coldly when he heard this. "You should give them some respect. They died so miserably. At least leave them some clothes."

Jack had no doubt that if time was not enough, Ling Luxian would have removed all the prosthetics from those guys.

Ling Luxian said without even looking up: "Look at Rebecca and the others. They are in such a tight spot right now because they don't have the concept of financial management."

However, Ling Luxian remembered that in the anime, David was given a tip of 500 euros.

It could also be that Rebecca's psychological gap is too big?

After all, the rent suddenly increased three times, who can afford it?

"Why do you talk like an old lady? How long are you going to keep fiddling with it? It's so noisy." Jack complained.

"It's almost done. Go take a shower first. I'll be done soon and make sure it's finished before you go to bed." Ling Luxian said as he tidied.

Jack complained: "This is more like my mom."

After a long while, Jack's voice came from the bathroom, "Oh my god! It's 10 euros for a shower, why don't you go rob it?"

"Robbery is not as quick as this to make money." Ling Luxian responded.

In the cyber world, you can't do anything without money.

I remember that in the advertisement of the game, there was an old lady with a rotten face and a baby with three hands.

People without money can only live in polluted areas and their lives are average.

When Ling Luxian came out of the storage room, Jack was already lying on the sofa.

It seems a bit gay to think about two grown men staying in the same room together.

Ling Luxian shook his head and put aside the distracting thoughts in his mind.

I sighed, the innocent self I once was is gone forever.

It is the most normal thing to live in a good friend's house.

Ling Luxian remembers that when he was a child, he played a prank on his friend and threw his smelly socks on his face while he was sleeping.

Perhaps it was the sense of crisis caused by someone targeting Pi Yanzi? Thinking of Allen, Ling Luxian shuddered.

Not thinking about these anymore, Ling Luxian walked into the bathroom and turned on the water.

All the worries were washed down the drain with the water.

Ling Lu came out wearing a bathrobe and said to Jack, "Jack, do you have anything else to do?"

"Oh, no," Jack responded.

"Then I'll turn off the lights."

Having said that, Ling Luxian turned off the lights in the room.

After climbing onto the bed, Ling Luxian couldn't fall asleep for a long time due to excitement.

Put your hands behind your head and look straight up at the ceiling.

"Jack, are you asleep? I can't sleep." Ling Luxian murmured.

An excited voice came from the sofa, "Brother, me too. What happened today is incredible."

Ling Luxian turned over and lay on the bed, staring at Jack, "If you can't sleep, then let's talk."

Jack sat up and asked, "What do you want to talk about?"

Ling Luxian thought for a moment and asked, "Why do you know so much about the super skyscraper H10? You shouldn't be the agent here, right?"

Jack scratched his head, feeling a little confused.

"Well, there's a good buddy on the seventh floor who opened a gun store. He told me the intelligence here and wanted me to help him get more business."

"Gun shop? Gun shop business should be good in Night City, right?"

As the saying goes, happy America, gunfights every day.

Ling Luxian couldn't have imagined that selling guns would actually result in a loss in the Americas.

"Who says he isn't?" Jack also complained, "But this guy has a really bad temper. When he meets a greenhorn who doesn't know anything about guns, he will call him a third-rate fellow. Sometimes he will even chase people out."

Ling Lu's mouth twitched. This guy is a bit abstract.

It can be confirmed that the person Jack was talking about was Robert Wilson, the owner of the "Second Amendment Gun Shop".

We held a shooting competition in the game, and only six people came, including V.

Not only that, but one was also driven away.

Even though that guy was unruly, he could have been sent away in a nice way, but he ended up scolding him and leaving.

He kept chattering during the game, which put pressure on others.

Guess what the prize is for winning the contest? A Lexington!

It’s not that Lexington is bad, it has first-rate reliability and is the best choice for beginners.

But why the hell did you give this to the champion? At least give him a rifle instead. Who needs your crappy pistol? It's really amazing that you are so stingy.

"He's really lucky that his business hasn't gone bankrupt despite being this good." Ling Luxian couldn't help but feel emotional when he thought of Wilson's amazing moves.

Jack defended Wilson. "To be honest, the gun he modified is really awesome, so it makes sense that he looks down on those novices. He also has his pride."

"Hmm~" Ling Luxian did not comment, "You can't eat arrogance."

Jack sighed and said, "Who says it's not true? But I know him too well, so it's hard to tell him."

"That's easy. I'll just talk to him. Take me over to play tomorrow." Ling Luxian promised.

"You? Okay." Jack nodded, agreeing with Ling Luxian's idea.

"Can I ask you something?" Jack asked after a long moment.

"go ahead."

"I'm really curious now. What's the difference between your time and now?" Jack asked this question out of the blue.

"It feels like a lifetime ago." Ling Luxian actually felt a sense of emptiness.

Everyone thought that the times they lived in were bad, but looking back, they realized that it was the best choice.

"The past was certainly not as developed as it is now, but people in the past had hope in life and people had faith. Take me for example, I grew up in the countryside, and later I studied and got to where I am today..."

As he spoke, Ling Luxian actually felt that these words seemed familiar.

For a moment, I was speechless.

Jack took over the conversation, "You are the best. Now the son of a poor man will always be poor, and the son of a rich man will always be rich."

After Jack finished speaking, Ling Luxian stared at Jack intently.

Jack felt a little frightened by being stared at.

"What's wrong? Did I say something wrong?" Jack was a little at a loss.

Ling Luxian responded in a strange voice: "I have said the same thing before. Looking back, I think it was just my own self-righteousness. Nothing is immutable and will change eventually."

"Will it change?" Jack looked out the window. There were still hovercrafts flying outside and people were still busy.

Ling Luxian said in a firm voice, "It will change."
