Hogwarts Summoning Guide
Chapter 103 Three Guesses
"Boss, what have you thought of?" Zhuo Bi asked, seeing Bai Lin's thoughtful expression. Being trapped in the mirror wasn't without its advantages; he wouldn't feel thirsty or hungry, and he wasn't as anxious and frantic as Blanco.
Bai Lin called everyone together, saying he had a lead and they could discuss it together.
Hearing Bai Lin's words, Blanco was so excited he almost cried. Just a moment ago, he had already imagined that if he couldn't go back, his beautiful wife might remarry, and the gold coins he had deposited in Gringotts Bank would belong to someone else, just like his two children. By the time his grandchildren grew up, they probably wouldn't even know he existed. So the more he thought about it, the more afraid he became of death, and the more anxious he became. Bai Lin had become his lifeline.
Bai Lin asked everyone to form a circle and said, "Let's summarize the information we have now; perhaps there's a way out within it."
Everyone nodded, and Bai Lin said, "What we do know is that this should be the place where the Spellbreakers forge rune equipment. So this place wasn't originally designed specifically to deal with wizards. If the Spellbreakers can come and go freely, we should also have a way to come and go freely, but we haven't found one yet!"
Everyone nodded, regaining some confidence, and Blanco calmed down as well.
Bai Lin continued, "I just checked the surroundings carefully. There's only a steam engine here, which should be used for forging, as well as an anvil and other tools, all used for making armor or cold weapons. That means the Spellbreakers' firearms weren't made here, but rather modified from Muggle weapons from the outside world."
"And grenades," Elijah said. "Their grenades can stop wizards from using Apparition."
Elijah's words struck Bai Lin like a bolt of lightning, giving him a jolt of realization. He felt he had grasped a crucial point.
"We need to change our thinking... The Spellbreakers aren't wizards, so all their weapons and actions are based on Muggle principles..." Bai Lin murmured, then suddenly slapped his thigh, startling Blanco.
Bai Lin said, "I know! What's trapping us!"
Blanco grabbed his arm and said, "OMG, just tell me already, I'm dying of impatience!"
Bai Lin said, "This is not some kind of seal, nor is it some space beyond our comprehension. This is inside the pyramid! What's trapping us are three things."
Bai Lin pointed to Elijah's still glowing wand and the words that had just been revealed with the Revealing Charm, saying, "There are no restrictions on all magic here, so what makes our magic ineffective isn't the barrier or the space itself, but the air!"
"Air?" Blanco and the four Aurors looked at each other, puzzled.
"Yes! To be precise, it's a certain kind of fine particle in the air, like dust. It's by collecting these particles that the spellbreakers were able to develop grenades that prevent wizards from apparating!" I sensed the airflow in the passageway when I came in. If there were a device that could spray these fine particles at the fresh air inlet, it would render many spells of wizards entering the passage ineffective! Bai Lin said.
"But how did the entrance we came in through disappear?" Blanco asked.
"That's the second thing trapping us: illusions!" Bai Lin said. "Suppose these runes on the wall have the ability to cause hallucinations in people with wizarding blood, while Muggles can see the entrance and exit, then it all makes sense!" (Hogwarts Summoning Guide: A phenomenal success, receiving rave reviews!)
The group exchanged bewildered glances again. Bai Lin continued, "There's a third thing: the mechanism. Although countless years have passed, and even though the top of the pyramid has weathered, damaged, and collapsed, its internal mechanisms are still functioning. The passageway isn't straight at all; it's circular. It's just that the radius is large, and some optical illusions have been used, so we've always thought it was straight. Not only the passageway, but the shaft we're falling through may also have used some visual illusions to make us lose our way during the descent."
"After saying all this, do you have any way to get out?" Blanco was completely confused, feeling that it was all Bai Lin's guesses, but he hadn't said anything about how to break the deadlock.
"Regarding the air, I think we can try the 'soaking head technique' to see if we can isolate the particles in the air..." Bai Lin said. "As for hallucinations, after isolating the air, we can try to feel around on the four walls with our eyes closed; perhaps we can find a door..."
"As for the mechanism... since the pyramids have many connections to astronomy, I think the shaft will definitely reappear within 24 hours..." Bai Lin said, then suddenly realized another problem, but he didn't say it aloud, keeping it to himself.
Blanco nodded to Elia, who immediately cast a bubble spell on his head, and a large bubble covered his head like a helmet.
"Gary! What are you doing!" Blanco shouted in alarm.
"He's not Gary, he's the Guardian of the Spellbreakers!" Bai Lin shouted, drawing his Jade-Handled Dragon sword with a whoosh and sweeping it towards "Gary".
"Gary" laughed loudly, backing away and shouting, "I didn't expect you to find a way so quickly, but you're all destined to die here! Haha! Only humans can leave this place! You freaks, die!"
Bai Lin looked tense. If "Gary" pulled out two AK47s with secret codes, they could die on the spot.
It seemed that Caesar's squad had taken all the weapons. Gary did not take out any guns, but instead waved his hands. Suddenly, two enormous creatures sprang out from the wall covered with runes. Bai Lin looked closely and saw that they were two powerful adult sphinxes.
The Sphinx has the body of an adult male lion, but its head has a long neck and a human-like face. Gary jumped onto the wall and merged into it, disappearing from sight.
Bai Lin roared, "Everyone back off! I'll handle them. You all quickly use the Bubble Head Spell to clear the particles from your lungs!"
With a wave of his hand, he summoned Xuefeng, whose tall and mighty body immediately jumped out of the summoning encyclopedia. Bai Lin thought to himself: As expected, my encyclopedia comes from the Sun God. Then the particles in the hall should not be able to restrict the Sun God's divine power. Therefore, I can summon the God-Summoning Owl in the corridor.
With a howl, Xuefeng pounced on a Sphinx, while Bailin dodged the claws of another Sphinx and summoned the Shadow Demon once more.
Dozens of shadow demons, each the size of a fingertip, appeared from all directions, like dozens of shadow ropes, instantly binding the Sphinx's hind legs. The Sphinx roared and swung its claw at Bai Lin's head, but because its hind legs were being held, it missed its target.
