Chapter 102 Even Space Mages Can't Get Out

"Hello... Boss..." Suddenly a voice came, startling everyone, but Bai Lin immediately recognized the voice as Zhuo Bi, whom he hadn't seen for several days.

"I'm here! Look here, look here!" Zhuo Bi's voice came from an anvil. Bai Lin looked over and saw a palm-sized mirror standing out conspicuously on the anvil.

Bai Lin walked over and saw that the mirror was like a screen, and Zhuo Bi, who had shrunk to the size of a palm, was wearing his black trench coat (it was already May, and it was over 30 degrees Celsius outside), trapped in the mirror like a goldfish in a fish tank.

Blanco leaned closer and recognized him too, saying, "Zhuobi the Mirror Man! A thief with a criminal record! What are you doing here!"

When Zhuo Bi saw Blanco, he was clearly startled. He had only noticed Bai Lin and hadn't seen Blanco walking at the back. This kind of thug (although he was stronger than Blanco) had a natural fear of the Auror office director.

"Uh, Director Blanco, what brings you here..." Zhuo Bi said somewhat flusteredly.

"Stop talking nonsense, tell me what's going on here, whatever you know!" Bai Lin said, holding up the small mirror.

Zhuo Bi said somewhat angrily, "I was tricked into coming here by clues about the Spellbreakers. Someone was spreading rumors that the Spellbreakers' base was at the Pyramid of Unas, so I rushed to Egypt. When I was teleported into the pyramid, I ended up here. This seems to be a workshop, but I didn't find any finished products..."

"How did you get trapped in the mirror?" Bai Lin asked.

"I tried all the spatial and teleportation spells, but I couldn't get out of this place. In the end, I planned to make a two-way door and use a mirror to connect to the outside world, but I failed. Not only could I not get out, but I was also trapped inside the mirror," Zhuo Bi said dejectedly.

"What the heck... even a professional space mage like you can't get out?" Bai Lin was sweating profusely.

"You just said that someone is spreading rumors?" Blanco keenly heard a piece of information that terrified him.

"Yes... Director Blanco... I suspect this is a message released by the lawbreakers themselves. This is a trap!" Zobi said through gritted teeth.

"Why spread such rumors? To lure us here and trap us?" Elijah asked.

"The Spellbreakers may be plotting an attack on the French Ministry of Magic..." Bai Lin said.

Blanco paced anxiously around, saying, "If that's the case, we're in big trouble. If we don't get back in two days, the Director will definitely send more Aurors to Egypt, leaving the Ministry of Magic's defenses vulnerable! Those despicable scum!"

Aurors are police officers and the Ministry of Magic's main fighting force. Other wizards may have accumulated considerable magical power over the years, but they are not so "professional" in actual combat. Some wizards may never have used a disarming charm or other combat spell in their entire lives. If the Aurors were to leave the Ministry of Magic, and spellbreakers stormed in armed, the consequences would be unimaginable.

"Everyone, scatter and find a way out! Since this is a workshop, the Spellbreakers must come and go frequently, it can't be closed off!" Blanco gave the order, and apart from the missing Gary, the other three Aurors responded and scattered.

"Besides these, what else did you discover?" Bai Lin asked Zhuo Bi, looking at the somewhat mottled murals on the surrounding walls.

Zhuo Bi thought for a moment and said, "A wizard once broke in here and left some information. Boss, use the Revealing Charm on that wall over there!" Zhuo Bi pointed to a stone wall in one direction.

Although the stone walls all look similar, their relative directions can still be roughly distinguished by the placement of the steam engine and the anvil.

Blanco followed Bai Lin, and the two walked to the stone wall. The stone wall was smooth and there was nothing on it. However, Bai Lin quickly realized something was wrong, because although it was smooth and undamaged, there were no murals or words painted on this part.

Blanco, anxious, cast the Revealing Charm first, and sure enough, dense text appeared on the wall:

My name is Roland. Oh well, who cares? I entered the Pyramid of Unas in 1932. Don't ask me what I was doing there; even wizards need money, right? (Turns out I was a tomb raider.)

But there are no mountains of gold here, only ancient script that drives me crazy and frantic. This script is like a magic circle that prevents me from using most of my magic. If you see my script, then unfortunately, you are also a wizard, and you will be trapped here like me.

Whoever built this place, I curse them, yet I also admire them for using these strange characters to limit the wizards' talents. I can't help but predict that some Muggle will discover this place and use these secrets in weapons against wizards!

What followed was all incoherent curses and profanities, with no useful information. This tomb raider probably starved or died of thirst long ago. However, the truth should be as he predicted: the spellbreakers discovered this place and developed it into a cryptic workshop, producing cryptic weapons and armor.

Enraged, Blanco swung his wand at the furnace in the center of the workshop, shattering it into pieces. However, his magic failed him once again.

Several Aurors returned empty-handed, shaking their heads at Blanco with some dismay. Suddenly, a small door opened in the wall, and amidst the crowd's jubilation, a figure slipped in. Bai Lin looked closely and saw it was the missing Gary. He was clearly terrified, his face pale. Seeing the bright hall and everyone around him, he was overjoyed and almost cried. However, the small door behind him vanished again.

Elijah stepped forward and touched Gary's forehead to make sure he was alright. Gary then recounted his ordeal: he had seen the lights of the group from afar in the passageway, but no matter how fast he ran, he couldn't get close. In the blink of an eye, the group disappeared from his sight. He was terrified and ran like a madman.

When he got tired of running, he suddenly felt a breeze, which was slightly cool. Then he saw a small door next to him, crawled through it, and arrived here.

Bai Lin looked around, took out a piece of white paper and a fountain pen (he really couldn't get used to using a wizard's quill pen), and wrote down all the symbols on the wall. Blanco, not believing in such things, ordered the Aurors to search everywhere, but to no avail. The crowd's emotions gradually became irritable. Bai Lin felt that before they starved to death, they would probably all go crazy, just like that tomb raider. Perhaps before they died, they would write something on the wall, cursing this unfair fate.

But Bai Lin was different from them. They were all people who relied on magic for their entire lives, while Bai Lin still carried many memories and knowledge from before his transmigration. He found a clean stone stool and sat on it. He definitely wouldn't understand these secret symbols for a while, but he had a feeling that there must be some details that he had overlooked. Finding this detail might be the key to solving his current predicament.
