Struggling to survive at Hogwarts
Chapter 27 Change
While Thea was still clinging to the tree, Lucius and Narcissa were nearly frantic with worry!
The three of them entered the fireplace one after the other, but Narcissa and Lucius realized something was wrong as soon as they came out.
While worried about the safety of the others, the two pulled out their wands and knocked down the dark wizard blocking their way.
The couple were, after all, highly educated graduates of Slytherin, and since the men didn't want to get entangled with them anyway, they quickly escaped.
They both considered interrogating the dark wizards to find out their whereabouts, but the wizards escaped too quickly, so the two had no choice but to return to Malfoy Manor first.
Lucius was writing a letter to Dumbledore in his study, no longer caring that Dumbledore might use this as an opportunity to redistribute custody of Thea.
All he knows now is that if anything happens to Thea, the Malfoy family will be the first sacrifice after the Dark Lord returns!
Narcissa is now trying to contact Thea through any communication devices she might have on her, but she keeps getting disappointed.
Draco was also terrified by the incident. He had never seen his father so furious, nor his mother so panicked.
He could only sit blankly beside his mother, watching helplessly as she repeatedly tried to contact Thea. The owls constantly flying in and out of Malfoy Manor proved to Draco:
"This is not a dream. If something really happens to Thea, the entire Malfoy family will suffer a huge blow!"
Draco hated his own powerlessness.
Finally, as the study door suddenly opened, Lucius hurriedly put on his coat. He didn't have time to explain the specific reason to his wife and son, only saying, "Thea has been found. I'm going to St. Mungo's to pick her up!"
Then came the sound of a phantom teleportation, and Lucius vanished from the spot.
Narcissa and Draco were finally relieved. They looked at each other, their eyes filled with relief.
Not long after, the owl brought news that Lucius had met Thea, but Thea was still resting and unable to move, so Lucius and Thea would return the next morning.
Upon hearing this, Narcissa's fatigue seemed to vanish, and she quickly told Draco to go and rest.
He then hurried upstairs to Thea's room, hoping to decorate it better so that Thea could rest more comfortably.
The next morning, Thea was taken back to Malfoy Manor by a carriage, accompanied by a sweating Lucius.
Draco wanted to sneak in to check on Thea, but his mother stopped him, saying that Thea was tired and needed to rest.
Draco thought about it and decided that it was more important for Thea to rest, so he didn't insist on going in.
Thea, who needed rest, was lying weakly in bed, her face pale from her injuries, but Lucius dared not underestimate her.
"Uncle, have you investigated what happened yesterday?" the girl asked casually, as if she wasn't the one who almost died yesterday.
Lucius looked tense, his face alternating between pale and flushed, with barely perceptible beads of sweat on his forehead. After a long pause, he finally said, "...It should be the Malfoy family and the Black family's former rivals..."
Thea stared coldly at Lucius for a long time, until his expression grew increasingly grim, before she mercifully informed him, "Why hasn't Uncle Lucius contacted anyone else to let me know I'm alright?"
Upon hearing this, Lucius felt as if he had been granted a pardon and immediately strode towards the door, trying to escape the room as quickly as possible.
Thea was alone in the room again. She moved her bandaged finger and immediately felt the tearing sensation of the wound, which made her gasp.
Thea stopped trying to move and closed her eyes to think about her next move.
She reviewed all the ways she had dealt with the situation yesterday and assessed herself: her actions yesterday were too risky. If she hadn't carried some prank powder with her, and if those dark wizards hadn't been so bad at close combat, she probably wouldn't have been able to escape unscathed.
As for the mastermind behind it all, Thea wasn't really sure. On one hand, she didn't know much about the magical world; on the other hand, her "good father" had left her too much of a "legacy," and Thea really couldn't tell who the mastermind was!
After this incident, Thea's pretense in front of Lucius has completely failed, because Lucius is not a sentimental person like Narcissa.
He was a typical Slytherin; he wouldn't simply dismiss Thea's desperate counterattack as a coincidence. He would thoroughly investigate the assassination attempt until he arrived at the most likely conclusion.
"This is a bit troublesome," Thea sighed.
But she quickly rallied her spirits, realizing that dwelling on the past was pointless; the facts were the facts, and she couldn't refute them.
Instead of dwelling on the past, it's better to focus your energy on improving yourself. After all, might makes right!
Suddenly! Thea realized something was wrong. She remembered that after her last brush with death, she experienced a magical surge!
This time, although there were still aftereffects of the magic surge, they were not as severe as last time.
Thea began to ponder the differences between the two.
A moment later, Thea smiled slightly; she seemed to have figured out the cause of her magical outburst…
If I could use this...
Draco discovers that Thea has changed completely since the day she returned from St. Mungo's.
She attends classes almost every day, covering topics such as social etiquette, art appreciation, general science, oil painting, flower arranging, and horseback riding...
God knows how she manages to teach so many classes in one day? She's a monster!
Looking at Thea's packed schedule, the young master, with an expression of existential doubt, chose to take his leave.
Thea simply smiled at Draco's question without giving a direct answer, but inwardly she thought: Anyone who has experienced the cramming education of the 21st century would not be surprised by this timetable!
Draco had mentioned this to his mother, but she hesitated for a moment before smiling and patting Draco's head, saying, "...Thea has just become more sensible; she understands her situation now."
Draco was puzzled. Wasn't Thea living at Malfoy Manor? What did this have to do with her situation?
Narcissa, tired of dealing with her son's endless stream of questions, simply enrolled him in Thea's class as well.
In fact, when Thea asked Narcissa and Lucius about taking the class, she had already asked if Draco should also be brought along. However, Narcissa was somewhat surprised when she saw Thea's schedule and politely declined.
Seeing Draco's unwilling expression, Thea felt no shame whatsoever, only sighing: Draco really can't escape the beatings of preschool!
