From cannon fodder villain to superpowered queen

Chapter 14 Crisis in the Valley, Clever Plan Turns the Tide

"Holy crap, are they serious?" Bi Yao couldn't help but swear as she watched the encirclement shrink.

Surrounded by cliffs, this terrain is a perfect example of trapping a turtle in a jar.

Jiang Ruiyuan's expression also turned serious. This group of pursuers clearly intended to kill them all, leaving them no way out.

"Sister Yao, what do we do now?" Jiang Ruiyuan asked in a low voice, gripping the dagger in his hand even tighter.

Bi Yao squinted and quickly scanned her surroundings.

Steep mountain walls, dense forests, and...

There were some unnatural depressions and scattered pebbles on the ground.

"Interesting." Bi Yao's lips curled into a cold smile. "It seems that Black Wind Valley is not a place to be trifled with."

She bent down, carefully examining the dents and pebbles, her fingertips gently brushing across the ground, feeling the remaining traces.

“It’s a trap,” Bi Yao said confidently. “Although it’s crude, it’s better than nothing.”

"A trap?" Jiang Ruiyuan followed Bi Yao's gaze and then noticed the inconspicuous traces.

“Well, although we don’t know who set this up, we’ve actually benefited from it.” A sly glint flashed in Bi Yao’s eyes. “Instead of waiting to be killed, we might as well turn the tables on them.”

Without hesitation, Bi Yao quickly gathered the surrounding branches and vines, modifying and reinforcing the existing traps.

She moved swiftly and skillfully, as if she were a natural-born wilderness survival expert.

Jiang Ruiyuan assisted him from the side, and the two worked together seamlessly, quickly setting up a trap area.

"Come on, my little cuties, let me show you what you've got." Bi Yao clapped her hands, a hint of excitement on her face.

The pursuers were getting closer and closer, their arrogant laughter echoing through the valley.

"Just surrender obediently! Refusing to surrender will only make your deaths more miserable!"

"Is that so?" Bi Yao sneered, hiding in the shadows, quietly waiting for her prey to take the bait.

"Ah!" "Ouch!" "Holy crap!"

Screams rose and fell as the once-aggressive pursuers fell into the traps one after another, their faces bruised and swollen, their formation thrown into chaos.

"What's going on?" the lead pursuer roared. "Watch out! There are traps in this valley!"

As Bi Yao watched the chaotic pursuers, the corners of her mouth curved into a wider smile.

"This is just the beginning..." she said in a low voice, a cold glint flashing in her eyes.

Seeing Bi Yao's confident demeanor, Jiang Ruiyuan felt a glimmer of hope rise in his heart.

Suddenly, Bi Yao's eyes sharpened, and she grabbed Jiang Ruiyuan, whispering, "Be careful!"

The leader of Chiang Kai-shek's pursuing troops turned pale with rage as he watched his men fall into the trap one by one.

"A bunch of useless trash! It's just a trap, what are you afraid of! Charge! Whoever catches them will be richly rewarded!" This leader was a ruthless character; he completely ignored his men's cries and gave them a death order.

Bi Yao and Jiang Ruiyuan stood back to back, ready for battle.

"Sister Yao, are you alright?" Jiang Ruiyuan asked in a low voice while cautiously observing his surroundings.

"What could possibly happen to me? I'm the woman who's about to reach the pinnacle of life!" Bi Yao raised an eyebrow, her tone relaxed, but her hands moved quickly, picking up a stone from the ground and throwing it at the pursuer's face.

"Come on, little ones, let me show you how strong your bones are!"

The pursuers were a bit stunned by Bi Yao's actions. This woman, even at a time like this, is still so arrogant?

For a moment, they hesitated and dared not step forward rashly.

"Go! What are you all standing there for?!" the leader roared angrily.

With such a generous reward, the pursuers gritted their teeth and pounced on Bi Yao and Jiang Ruiyuan once again.

The battle instantly intensified, with flashing swords and clashing fists and feet.

Although Bi Yao is not a superhuman, she is agile and quick-witted. With the traps she had set up, she was able to hold her own against the pursuers.

Jiang Ruiyuan was even more valiant; the dagger in his hand moved like a dragon, each swing bringing down an enemy.

However, two fists can't fight four hands. In order to protect Bi Yao, Jiang Ruiyuan's arm was cut by the enemy's knife, and blood instantly stained his sleeve.

"Ruiyuan!" Bi Yao exclaimed, pulling his arm with heartache and quickly tearing off a piece of her clothing to bandage him.

"It's nothing, just a minor injury," Jiang Ruiyuan said, enduring the pain as he comforted her.

"What time is it for you to still be so stubborn!" Bi Yao glared at him, but her movements became even gentler.

After bandaging her wounds, Bi Yao helped Jiang Ruiyuan up, her eyes coldly scanning the surrounding enemies.

"Damn it, just because I haven't shown my teeth doesn't mean I'm a pushover!"

Suddenly, Bi Yao's gaze fell on the cliff face on one side of the valley. Her pupils contracted slightly, and she grabbed Jiang Ruiyuan. "Wait..." Bi Yao's eyes were like radar scanners, quickly capturing the shadow on the cliff face that was almost integrated with the rock.

“Wait… what’s that?” She tugged at Jiang Ruiyuan and pointed to that inconspicuous spot.

Jiang Ruiyuan looked in the direction Bi Yao was pointing. At first, he didn't see anything. After squinting and observing carefully, he could vaguely see a dark hole. If you didn't look closely, you would really think it was the shadow of a rock.

"It looks...like a cave?"

"You got it right!" Bi Yao snapped her fingers and pulled Jiang Ruiyuan along, running in that direction.

"Of the thirty-six stratagems, running away is the best! Let's hide for now!"

The two crouched low and quickly slipped into the cave.

The cave entrance was narrow, making it easy to defend and difficult to attack, so the pursuers didn't dare to enter rashly for the time being.

"This place is amazing!" Bi Yao couldn't help but exclaim. It was simply a golden refuge bestowed by God!

The cave was pitch black, and you couldn't see your hand in front of you.

Jiang Ruiyuan fumbled to light the tinderbox he carried with him, and the faint light illuminated a corner of the cave.

"Wow, there's treasure here!" Jiang Ruiyuan exclaimed in surprise.

It turned out that deep inside the cave were some rusty weapons, some dried meat, and some moldy clothes.

Although these things look a bit old, they are a godsend for Bi Yao and Jiang Ruiyuan right now!

“It seems that people have taken refuge here before.” Bi Yao picked up a rusty knife and tested its weight. Although it was a bit dull, it was still better than being empty-handed.

"Let's just make do with it for now; it's better than nothing."

The two shared some dried meat to replenish their energy.

The pursuers outside didn't seem to have given up; their shouts could still be faintly heard.

"It seems they don't intend to let us off easily." Jiang Ruiyuan frowned.

"What's there to be afraid of? We'll deal with whatever comes our way!" Bi Yao said nonchalantly. "Let's just wait and see who outlasts whom!"

Time passed second by second, and the shouts outside the cave gradually subsided. It seemed that the pursuers had given up the search and instead set up camp outside the cave, preparing for a long-term siege.

Bi Yao and Jiang Ruiyuan hid deep inside the cave, listening to the commotion outside, their expressions gradually becoming serious.

Although the cave was an excellent hiding place, the food and water inside were limited...

Bi Yao touched her empty pockets and sighed, "Ruiyuan, do you have any food left?"

Jiang Ruiyuan shook his head, took out a palm-sized, hardened pancake from his pocket, and handed it to Bi Yao: "This is the only one left..."

Bi Yao took the cake, broke off a small piece, and put it in her mouth, chewing slowly. Her gaze, however, fell on a more secluded corner deep within the cave, where it seemed…

There is something...

“Ruiyuan,” Bi Yao’s voice trembled slightly, “you see…”
