Reborn Fairy Wife Takes Me on a Gaggle-Fire rampage

Chapter 72 You Are My God of Wealth

The next morning, sunlight streamed through the gaps in the curtains, falling onto Wen Shu's warm bed. It was a weekend morning, and Wen Shu was enjoying a rare moment of leisure. She curled up in bed, feeling the changing seasons. The weather outside was gradually turning cooler, a crisp chill filling the air, as if tiny snowflakes might fall at any moment. Wen Shu decided to use her free time this weekend to look for a suitable studio for herself.

After a hearty breakfast, Mu Chen stood by the study window, a steaming cup of coffee in his hand, gazing into the distance through the window. Just then, he saw Wen Shu stride out the door, full of energy, as if she were on fire. A slight smile crept onto Mu Chen's lips as he softly said, "Have a great weekend."

Wen Shu wandered aimlessly through the streets, carefully observing every possible location, hoping to find a suitable and inspiring workspace. However, after circling around for a long time, she hadn't found a particularly suitable place. Just as she was about to give up, Wen Shu accidentally wandered into a small alley. This alley was quaint and charming, like a piece of history lost in a crack of time, standing out uniquely behind the modern office buildings. She noticed a shop for rent at the end of the alley, so she excitedly dialed the number to inquire.

Wen Shu stepped into the house, filled with joy and excitement. She couldn't wait to share the exciting news with Mu Chen. Mu Chen was sitting on the sofa in the living room, holding a book, but his gaze was quickly drawn to Wen Shu's vibrant figure.

Wen Shu walked up to Mu Chen and said excitedly, "I've found the perfect place to open my studio!" After hearing this, Mu Chen put down the book in his hand, looked at Wen Shu thoughtfully, and then slowly said, "That street you mentioned belongs to our family. You can take whichever room you want."

Upon hearing this, Wen Shu was so surprised she could barely speak: "Ah, I looked at all the houses, and in the end it's still our own?" She blinked incredulously, as if confirming she had misheard. Mu Chen smiled and nodded in affirmation.

"Really? That's incredible!" Wen Shu jumped up excitedly. "It's the house that's being advertised for rent at the end of the road." Mu Chen smiled faintly after hearing this: "Okay, then it's settled."

Mu Chen immediately dialed his secretary's number, and a moment later, the secretary delivered the keys with lightning speed. Wen Shu changed out of her outdoor clothes and put on a warm down jacket, while Mu Chen took a coat from the closet. As soon as the two reached the door, light snowflakes began to fall outside, filling the air with the fresh scent of winter.

Mu Chen drove and soon arrived at the alley. The house was two stories high, a small project built by the Mu family a few years ago. Although not particularly luxurious, it was very practically designed. Mu Chen opened the door, and Wen Shu walked in, carefully observing the layout. Although it was orderly, the space was spacious and well-lit.

Wen Shu gave an OK sign with satisfaction. Mu Chen looked at her and asked, "Do you have any design ideas?" Wen Shu smiled a little shyly, "Yes, I do, but I'm not good at these things." Mu Chen said, "I'm good at this. When you get home, tell me your ideas, and I'll draw up some designs for you. You can see if they're suitable."

"Thank you so much! You're my lucky charm!" Wen Shu said gratefully. Mu Chen put his arm around Wen Shu's shoulder affectionately and smiled, saying, "You're welcome. I'm happy to help you."

The two walked around the house, discussing their future plans. Mu Chen occasionally offered practical suggestions, while Wen Shu excitedly jotted them down in her notebook. The snowflakes outside the window gradually intensified, but the atmosphere inside remained warm and cozy.

On the way home, night had fallen, and fine snowflakes drifted down from the sky, covering the ground with a thin layer of white snow, making it exceptionally peaceful. A few snowflakes clung to the tree branches, like nature's decorations, shimmering faintly. Inside the car, the warm heater made it comfortable. Wen Shu sat in the passenger seat, chattering away. Mu Chen focused on driving, occasionally glancing over to listen to Wen Shu's stories.

"After participating in the show and finishing my work, I'll hand over my resignation," Wen Shu suddenly said, her tone carrying a hint of relief and liberation, as if she had finally unloaded a heavy burden that had been weighing on her shoulders for a long time. Mu Chen, upon hearing this, expressed his full understanding and support: "Then after the design drawings are completed, we'll start the renovation. After you finish the show, I'll take you to a resort to relax." His voice was full of care and expectation for Wen Shu.

Wen Shu's decision was not impulsive; she had been preparing for this moment for a long time. When Wen Shu submitted her resignation, Mu Chen was not surprised at all; on the contrary, he was happy for her. He knew that Wen Shu was a very talented person.

Back home, soft lighting bathed the cozy living room. Mu Chen and Wen Shu sat at the dining table, enjoying a simple yet delicious dinner.

After the meal, they went straight into the study without the slightest hesitation.

Mu Chen sat at his desk, a pencil in his hand, intently sketching lines on the paper. Wen Shu stood beside him, a steaming cup of coffee in her hand, occasionally offering her suggestions. Their voices echoed in the study, not overlooking a single detail, from the choice of materials to the stability of the structure and the aesthetics of the appearance.

Mu Chen frowned, knowing full well that every change could affect the final product. He kept modifying the drawings, erasing, and redrawing. Wen Shu waited patiently by his side, carefully examining each section Mu Chen modified and offering her opinions.

Time slipped by unnoticed, the clock on the wall ticking, but the two seemed completely oblivious. Completely immersed in the world of design, they felt excitement and satisfaction from perfecting every detail. After hours of collaborative effort, the drawings finally took shape as they envisioned. Mu Chen and Wen Shu exchanged a smile; they knew that this achievement was the culmination of their shared wisdom, the result of their relentless pursuit of perfection.

Finally, when they put down their tools with satisfaction and looked at the design drawing that had been revised and improved countless times, they were filled with a sense of accomplishment.

The snow outside the window stopped. Wen Shu stood by the window, gazing at the world outside. Everything was covered in silver, with glistening snowflakes hanging from the branches and a thick blanket of snow covering the rooftops. The whole world seemed to have frozen in that moment. She turned her head, her gaze falling on Mu Chen, and said with a smile, "If only I could have a hot roasted sweet potato right now."
