Reborn Fairy Wife Takes Me on a Gaggle-Fire rampage
Chapter 67. I want to appeal, to appeal against You Chuan.
Mu Chen sat at his desk, having finally finished the project report after a busy morning. He gently rubbed his eyes, which were slightly tired from staring at the computer screen for so long, and gazed through the office window at the distant city skyline of towering buildings. At that moment, he picked up his phone and dialed Wen Shu's number. Wen Shu was organizing documents in her office when her phone suddenly rang. She glanced down and realized it was almost lunchtime.
When the call connected, Wen Shu's voice came through the receiver, carrying a sweet laugh: "Hello? What's up?" Mu Chen smiled as well, and asked gently, "What do you want to eat for lunch? Should we eat at home or should I pick you up and take you out?" Wen Shu thought for a moment on the other end of the line, then replied, "I'll eat at the company for lunch. After lunch, I'll finish my work and go home early in the afternoon." Upon hearing this, Mu Chen considerately reminded her, "Okay, remember to rest properly and don't overwork yourself." Wen Shu giggled and replied cheerfully, "Okay, I'll be careful."
After hanging up the phone, Mu Chen stood up, stretched, and decided to grab something to eat at the company cafeteria. He felt a surge of warmth as he thought of Wen Shu bustling about at the company. At the cafeteria, he chose a nutritionally balanced meal, eating while pondering his work plans for the afternoon.
Meanwhile, Wen Shu quickly ate a simple lunch in her office before returning to the repair room to continue working on the fan in her hand. She knew that once she finished her work, she could end the day early and return to Mu Chen's side sooner.
The afternoon sun streamed through the windows of the restoration room, illuminating Wen Shu's desk. She looked out, her heart filled with anticipation. She imagined spending a relaxing afternoon with Mu Chen, perhaps taking a walk in the nearby park and enjoying some rare leisure time. Thinking of this, a slight smile crept onto Wen Shu's lips, and she quickened her pace, hoping to finish her task as soon as possible. Meanwhile, Mu Chen was also busy in his office.
As the afternoon drew to a close, the phone rang in the lawyer's office. He answered it, and heard Wen Chu's slightly trembling voice.
"Hello, Attorney Xiang." Wen Chu's voice was choked with emotion, as if she was trying her best to control herself.
"Hello, Ms. Wen," the lawyer replied gently, though he could sense the unease and tension on the other end of the line.
"I want to appeal, to appeal against You Chuan." Wen Chu finally stated her decision, her voice filled with determination.
“Okay, Ms. Wen, leave the rest to me.” The lawyer’s voice revealed a hint of determination; he was prepared to do everything in his power to help Wen Chu.
“See you at the hospital tomorrow morning,” he added to his lawyer, explaining that he understood that details and swift action were crucial at this critical moment.
In Attorney Xiang's office, she quickly organized the relevant documents and prepared the materials needed for the appeal. She knew this was not just a legal battle, but a pursuit of justice. Recalling Wen Chu's ordeal, Attorney Xiang felt a surge of responsibility. She decided to fight for her rightful rights.
In Wen Shu's hands, the fan seemed to come back to life. Her skillful hands gently caressed the fan surface, as if she could feel its former glory. Wen Shu's speed in restoring antiques was astonishing; she seemed to possess some kind of magical power, able to quickly restore seemingly dilapidated objects to their former splendor. For items that would normally require a week to repair, Wen Shu could always restore them to their former brilliance in just one day. She treated every restoration task with utmost care, overlooking every detail, as if racing against time.
Wen Shu's reputation spread rapidly in the restoration world, and more and more people began to take notice of this young restorer. She was not only fast at restoring, but also achieved extremely high quality, almost to the point of perfection. Her workshop was always piled high with all sorts of antiques, from fans to porcelain, from paintings and calligraphy to furniture, each piece awaiting her skillful touch. Wen Shu treated each antique like her own child, with utmost care, fearing any mishap.
Her skills quickly gained recognition in the industry, with some even calling restoration institutes specifically to request Wen Shu to restore their precious collections. These collections were often priceless, and Wen Shu never disappointed her clients. She could always pinpoint the damage to an object and then, with her magical hands, restore it in the most appropriate way. Her work not only restored the objects to their original value but sometimes even enhanced their artistic value.
Wen Shu's reputation extends beyond the local area; her skill and speed attract clients from afar. They are willing to pay hefty fees just to have this young master restorer on their side. While Wen Shu's fees are high, people believe it's worthwhile because her work ensures these precious artifacts receive the best care and preservation. Her workshop is always filled with praise and gratitude, and Wen Shu always smiles humbly as she continues her restoration work, as if it were all her duty.
Wen Shu stretched and slowly stood up from her chair. Her eyes looked out the window, where the afterglow of the setting sun shone on the mountainside, the golden light intertwining with the greenery of the mountains to create a warm picture.
She realized it was getting late and it was time to go home. She was thinking about her cat, the little guy she most looked forward to seeing after get off work every day.
This morning, as Wen Shu was leaving, she noticed her little black cat gracefully strutting across the rooftop, its posture both relaxed and confident. Little Black seemed to really enjoy the peace and freedom on the roof; it always found the most comfortable position, either lazily basking in the sun or curiously observing its surroundings. Wen Shu couldn't help but wonder what Little Black was doing now. Was it still on the roof, enjoying its own peaceful time?
She glanced around the restoration room; the tabletops were spotless, and the tools were neatly arranged. She picked up her handbag, ready to leave.
As she went downstairs, she greeted several colleagues who were also preparing to finish their workday. Stepping out of the office building, Wen Shu felt the fresh air and her mood lightened considerably.
She walked to the parking lot, found her car, got into the driver's seat, and started the engine. As the car slowly drove out of the parking lot, Wen Shu's mood gradually brightened. She drove through clusters of shady trees, sunlight filtering through the leaves and casting dappled shadows on the car window. She liked moments like these; the scenery outside the window seemed like a fast-forwarding slideshow, allowing her to temporarily forget the pressures of work.
