Keyboard Warrior's Otherworldly Adventure

A burst of red light erupted, as dazzling as a Supernova, forcing Sophie and Xiaomei to raise their hands to shield their eyes. When the light faded, Li Jin was gone, leaving only a bright green, basketball-sized... egg?

The eggshell surface was covered with fluorescent patterns similar to those on Li Jin's mutated skin, and something could be vaguely seen wriggling inside. Sophie and Xiao Mei exchanged bewildered glances, unsure of what was happening.

"What...what's going on?" Xiaomei broke the silence first, cautiously poking the egg. "Li Jin turned into an egg?"

Sophie frowned, cautiously circling the egg once, and said, "It looks like some kind of... evolution? Or perhaps an intermediate stage of mutation?" She remembered Old Wang mentioning that some creatures in other worlds undergo metamorphosis through a process similar to "cocooning." Could it be that Li Jin also...

"Who cares!" Xiao Mei slapped her thigh. "Let's take it back first!" She said, reaching for the egg, but Sophie stopped her.

"Wait a minute," Sophie said cautiously, "this egg is very unstable right now. Who knows what might happen? We'd better be careful."

Xiao Mei pouted: "What's there to be afraid of? At worst, we'll fight again!" She rolled up her sleeves, looking eager to try.

Sophie sighed helplessly, "Can you please not be so impulsive? What if something happens to Li Jin inside this egg? Are you going to take responsibility?"

Xiao Mei reluctantly lowered her hand, muttering, "Then what do you suggest we do...?"

Sophie pondered for a moment and said, "Let's move it to a safe place first, and then try to contact Old Wang to see if he knows what's going on."

Together, the two carried the emerald green egg to a relatively secluded corner deep inside the cave. After settling it in, Sophie took out a communication device and tried to contact Old Wang. However, the device didn't respond; clearly, signal jamming was severe deep within the cave.

"Damn it!" Sophie slammed the communication device to the ground. "Why did it have to be at this time of year?"

Xiao Mei laughed gleefully, "See? I told you we should have just taken the egg back. You had to waste your time here."

Sophie glared at her and said irritably, "What if Li Jin hatches on the road and turns into that monster? Can you beat him?"

Xiao Mei was speechless for a moment. She couldn't help but shudder when she thought of Li Jin's terrifying power after his mutation.

"What do we do now?" Xiaomei asked timidly.

Sophie sighed and rubbed her temples: "We can only wait and see. Hopefully, Lao Wang can contact us soon."

The two waited anxiously in the cave. Time passed by, and the fluorescent patterns on the eggshell sometimes brightened and sometimes dimmed, as if breathing, making them unpredictable.

Suddenly, a crack appeared on the eggshell. Then, more and more cracks appeared, growing larger and larger, making a cracking sound. Sophie and Xiaomei stared nervously at the egg, barely daring to breathe.

"It's going to hatch!" Xiao Mei exclaimed excitedly.

The eggshell finally broke completely, and a baby crawled out...

A tiny baby, soaking wet, with emerald green skin and two pointed horns on its head?

The baby opened its big green eyes and looked at Sophie and Xiaomei curiously, then grinned, revealing its little teeth that hadn't fully grown in yet.

“Aaaaah!”

Sophie and Xiaomei were completely dumbfounded.

"What... what's going on?" Xiaomei stammered.

Sophie was also completely bewildered. She cautiously reached out her finger and poked the baby's little cheek. The baby giggled, reached out and grabbed Sophie's finger. The soft touch melted Sophie's heart.

"So cute..." Sophie couldn't help but say.

"He's quite cute," Xiaomei said, joining in and teasing the baby with her finger. "But is this really Li Jin?"

Just then, the baby suddenly spoke, her voice childish yet clear: "Sophie...hungry..."
