Xiao Bai, Xiao Mei's seemingly harmless, fluffy pet that looked like a glutinous rice ball, suddenly shot towards Li Jin like an arrow. Its small body contained explosive power, and its sharp teeth reflected a cold glint in the dim light.

Li Jin was startled by the sudden attack and instinctively released his grip on Sophie's neck. Sophie collapsed helplessly to the ground, gasping for fresh air; the ligature marks on her neck were horrifying.

Little Whitey bit Li Jin's arm, its sharp teeth piercing his skin, and green blood flowed down the wound. Li Jin winced in pain and tried to shake his arm off Little Whitey, but the little thing stuck to him like a piece of chewing gum, and he couldn't get rid of it no matter what he did.

"Damn little beast!" Li Jin roared, slapping Xiaobai hard with his other hand.

Seeing this, Xiaomei's heart leaped into her throat. "Xiaobai, watch out!"

Xiao Bai nimbly dodged Li Jin's attack, but instead bit his arm even more fiercely, tearing off a piece of flesh.

"Ah!" Li Jin screamed again, this time filled with pain and anger. He frantically waved his arms, trying to get rid of Xiao Bai, but accidentally hit a stone pillar next to him.

With a loud crash, the stone pillar snapped, sending debris flying everywhere. Sophie and Xiaomei quickly dodged, afraid of being hit by falling rocks.

Taking advantage of the opportunity, Xiaobai released Li Jin's arm and jumped back to Xiaomei's side. It was covered in Li Jin's green blood and looked somewhat ferocious.

Li Jin clutched his bleeding arm, his eyes glaring fiercely at Xiao Bai. "You damned little beast, I'll kill you!"

He pounced on Xiaobai again, faster and stronger than before.

Xiao Mei turned pale with fright, but she didn't back down. She hugged Xiao Bai tightly, her eyes meeting Li Jin's with unwavering determination. "Xiao Bai, let's fight together!"

Xiao Bai also let out a low growl, seemingly responding to Xiao Mei's determination.

A fierce battle ensued between the human and the beast against the mutated Li Jin. Although Li Jin had gained new powers, Xiao Bai's speed and agility made him difficult to predict. Xiao Mei, meanwhile, waited for an opportunity to attack Li Jin with her dagger.

The battle lasted a long time, and all three were exhausted. Li Jin had more and more wounds, and green blood flowed all over the ground. Xiao Bai also had several more wounds, but it still fought tenaciously.

Sophie watched the battle from the sidelines, her heart filled with anxiety and worry. She knew that if Li Jin continued like this, he would eventually lose his mind completely and become a true monster.

Suddenly, Sophie had an idea. She picked up a piece of gravel from the ground and smashed it hard against Li Jin's head.

"Li Jin, wake up!"

Sophie was overjoyed; it seemed Li Jin's consciousness hadn't completely vanished. "Li Jin, do you remember me? It's me, Sophie!"

Li Jin looked at Su Fei, his eyes gradually regaining a glimmer of clarity. "Sophie... I... what happened to me?"

"You're being controlled by a strange force! You've turned into a monster!" Sophie exclaimed anxiously. "You must control yourself and not be devoured by it!"

Li Jin looked down at his hands, then at the green blood on the ground, his eyes filled with fear and confusion. "I...I've become a monster..."

"No, you haven't completely become a monster yet!" Sophie grabbed Li Jin's hand and said firmly, "You still have a chance, you must defeat it!"

A struggle flashed in Li Jin's eyes; he seemed to be fighting against some kind of power within his body.

Just then, an eerie red light emanated from Li Jin's chest, illuminating the entire cave. Li Jin let out a painful roar, and his body changed once more... His skin began to turn transparent, revealing clearly the pulsating blood vessels and internal organs. His bones also began to deform, twisting into bizarre shapes.

"what……"

Li Jin collapsed to the ground in agony, his body convulsing uncontrollably. Sophie and Xiaomei stared in horror at the scene before them, unsure of what to do.

Suddenly, Li Jin's convulsions stopped, and he slowly stood up, his height having increased again. His skin was no longer transparent, but had turned a jade-like emerald green, covered with strange patterns and emitting a faint glow. His eyes had also turned a deep green, as if containing endless magic.

He slowly raised his head, his green eyes sweeping over Sophie and Xiaomei, a wicked smile playing on his lips. "Heh...it seems...I've finally...completed my evolution..."

His voice was no longer clear and crisp, but deep and hoarse, like that of an ancient beast, carrying a chilling pressure. He stuck out his tongue, licked his lips, and a bloodthirsty glint flashed in his green eyes. "This feeling... is... truly... wonderful..."

He slowly walked towards Sophie, reached out, and gently stroked her cheek. "Sophie... my princess... now... you belong to me..."

Sophie trembled with fear, but she didn't flinch. Looking directly into Li Jin's eyes, she said firmly, "Li Jin, wake up! I'm Sophie, the one you love!"

Li Jin's hand froze in mid-air, a flicker of struggle crossing his eyes. Just then, the red light on his chest flashed again, growing brighter and more blinding…
