Keyboard Warrior's Otherworldly Adventure

Chapter 89 Jedi Counterattack

Li Jin squinted, trying to make out the dark figure. The figure moved quickly through the bushes, making a rustling sound; it was huge, like a wild beast. He struggled to stand up, but the movement aggravated his wounds, causing him to wince in pain.

"Don't move!" Sophie pressed him down. "You're badly injured."

The dark shadow drew closer, and a foul, fishy stench filled the air. Finally, it emerged from the woods and appeared before the two.

It was a gigantic spider, larger than any spider Li Jin had ever seen. Its eight hairy legs were covered with sharp spines, its two green eyes gleamed with ferocity, and its mouthparts dripped a viscous liquid that made one want to vomit.

"Holy crap! This spider demon is huge!" Li Jin couldn't help but curse. He usually hated spiders the most, but he never expected to encounter such a giant species in this other world.

Sophie's expression also turned serious. She recognized the spider as a highly venomous demon spider from deep within the forest, one that even she dared not provoke lightly.

The spider let out a roar and pounced on the two of them. Sophie quickly shielded Li Jin behind her, brandishing her longsword. A flash of light pierced through the air, severing one of the spider's legs.

The spider, in pain, let out a sharp screech and attacked even more frantically. It was incredibly fast, its eight legs moving with incredible agility, making it difficult to anticipate.

Although Sophie was highly skilled in martial arts, she was carrying an injured person, which made her movements difficult. After only a few rounds, she had several more wounds on her body, and her clothes were stained with blood.

"Damn it, even if I die, I won't let this beast get away with this!" Li Jin endured the pain, picked up a broken branch from the ground, and stabbed it fiercely into the eyes of the demon spider.

The spider couldn't dodge in time and was pierced in one eye by a broken branch, letting out a shrill scream. It frantically swung its remaining seven legs, sweeping down the surrounding trees.

"Li Jin, watch out!" Sophie exclaimed and pushed Li Jin away.

The spider's leg slammed into Sophie, sending her flying. Sophie crashed to the ground, spitting out a mouthful of blood.

"Sophie!" Li Jin's eyes were bloodshot. He struggled to his feet, picked up the longsword Sophie had dropped, and charged toward the demon spider.

"Die! You filthy bug!" Li Jin roared, plunging his longsword deep into the demon spider's abdomen.

The spider let out a final roar, its massive body crashing to the ground. It twitched a few times and then fell still.

Li Jin stood panting beside the spider's corpse, trembling all over. He looked down at the longsword in his hand; its blade was stained with the spider's green blood, emitting a nauseating stench.

"Sophie! How are you?" Li Jin rushed to Sophie's side and helped her up.

Sophie was pale, with blood still trickling from the corner of her mouth. She weakly shook her head. "I'm fine... just... a little weak..."

Li Jin looked at Su Fei's wounds, his heart aching. He carefully held her in his arms and said softly, "Don't be afraid, I'm here..."

Sophie nestled in Li Jin's arms, feeling his warm body temperature, and a strange sense of security welled up inside her. She gently closed her eyes, savoring the tranquility of the moment.

Suddenly, Li Jin felt Sophie in his arms stiffen. She opened her eyes abruptly and pointed behind Li Jin in terror, "Li Jin... be careful..."

Li Jin's heart skipped a beat, and he quickly turned around to look. He saw a dark figure standing behind him, holding a gleaming dagger...

The dagger pierced Li Jin's back. A sharp pain shot through him, and Li Jin groaned as everything went black and he lost consciousness...

"Li Jin!" Sophie let out a heart-wrenching scream...

The assassin who killed Li Jin was none other than Lin Na's subordinate, the man in black. It turns out that Lin Na hadn't given up the hunt; she had sent the man in black to track them down and find their hiding place.

The man in black pulled out a dagger, and Li Jin's blood gushed out, staining Su Fei's clothes red. Su Fei hugged Li Jin tightly, tears blurring her vision.

"Li Jin... wake up... you can't die..." Sophie cried out, but she couldn't wake the unconscious Li Jin.

The man in black looked at Sophie with a cold smile. "Your Highness, you'd better surrender obediently. You can't escape."

Sophie raised her head, her eyes burning with hatred. She wiped away her tears, slowly stood up, and gripped Li Jin's longsword tightly in her hand…
