Keyboard Warrior's Otherworldly Adventure
Chapter 88 The Roar of the Dragon
The men in black surged forward like a tide, and Li Jin's weakened body was no match for them. Sophie drew her slender sword from her waist; the blade flashed, forcing back several approaching men in black. "Li Jin, can you hold on?" Sophie asked anxiously, feeling Li Jin's body trembling.
"Nonsense, I'm not going to die!" Li Jin spat out a mouthful of bloody saliva, forcing himself to throw a punch that landed squarely on a man in black's face. "Damn it, you dare touch me? Don't you know who I am!"
Although he put on a brave front, Li Jin knew in his heart that this time he was probably truly doomed. He had witnessed Lin Na's methods before; falling into her hands was worse than death.
"Sophie, go! Don't worry about me!" Li Jin shouted, pushing Sophie away with all his might.
Sophie staggered a few steps, a resolute glint in her eyes. "We'll go together!" She swung her sword, forcing back the men in black behind her, then turned and grabbed Li Jin's hand. "Don't be silly, I won't abandon you!"
The two men stood back to back, barely managing to fend off the attacks from the men in black. Li Jin's consciousness gradually faded, his wounds multiplied, and blood stained his clothes. He felt his life force rapidly draining away, and the world before him began to darken.
Just then, a deafening dragon's roar suddenly echoed from the sky. A gigantic black dragon descended from the heavens, circling above the cave and radiating a suffocating pressure.
The men in black stopped what they were doing and looked up at the dragon in horror. Linna's face also turned extremely pale; she hadn't expected Sophie to have such a trump card.
The dragon opened its blood-red maw and spewed out a scorching dragon breath, instantly tearing a gap in the encirclement.
"Quick, let's go!" Sophie grabbed Li Jin and rushed towards the gap.
The two used their last ounce of strength to escape the encirclement. The dragon circled once in the air before flying away into the distance.
Linna watched the two escape, trembling with rage. "Damn it! They actually got away!" She stomped her foot angrily, her eyes filled with resentment.
Li Jin and Su Fei escaped to a dense forest, where they were both exhausted and collapsed on the ground.
"Cough cough..." Li Jin coughed violently, and fresh blood kept gushing from his mouth.
Sophie quickly pulled a bottle of medicine from her pocket and fed it to Li Jin. "How are you?" she asked anxiously.
"I won't die..." Li Jin smiled weakly. "I didn't expect you to have this trick up your sleeve... Is that dragon... your pet?"
Sophie shook her head. "It's not my pet, it's my... friend." She paused, then said, "Thank you for saving me, Li Jin."
"Why are you thanking me? If it weren't for you, I'd be dead already..." Li Jin waved his hand. "But... could you at least give me a heads-up next time? You almost scared me to death..."
Sophie chuckled, her voice as clear and melodious as a lily blooming in a valley. "What time is it to be joking around like this?" she said, taking out some bandages and herbs from her backpack and beginning to treat Li Jin's wounds.
Looking at Sophie carefully bandaging his wounds, Li Jin felt a surge of warmth in his heart. This princess from another world, though seemingly noble and aloof, was kind and gentle at heart.
Sophie moved very gently, afraid of hurting Li Jin. When her fingers touched Li Jin's wound, Li Jin's body trembled slightly.
"Does it hurt?" Sophie asked with concern.
"It doesn't hurt...it's just a little itchy..." Li Jin grinned, but his gaze involuntarily fell on Su Fei's chest. Her clothes were a little disheveled from the fight, revealing a large expanse of snow-white skin, which made Li Jin's heart flutter.
Sophie seemed to notice Li Jin's gaze, her face flushed slightly, and she quickly straightened her clothes. "Don't look like that..." she scolded playfully.
"Ahem... I didn't mean to..." Li Jin coughed awkwardly twice and quickly looked away.
Just then, Sophie suddenly exclaimed, "Oh no! Something's coming!"
Li Jin quickly looked up and saw a huge dark shadow rapidly approaching them...
