The Shadow Demon's roar made Li Jin's eardrums ache; this thing was much harder to deal with than that woman Lin Na. He instinctively pulled Sophie behind him; the girl's skin was delicate and couldn't withstand a single claw from this monster.

"System, what are the weaknesses of this thing?" Li Jin called out to the system in his mind. He still had to rely on his cheat code at critical moments.

The system's cold voice echoed in his mind: "Shadow Demon, guardian beast of the Dark Cult, fears holy light, its weakness is its abdomen..."

Before the system could finish speaking, the Shadow Demon was already upon him. It swung its enormous claws, bringing a stench with it as it slammed down towards Li Jin. Li Jin quickly dodged to the side, narrowly avoiding the fatal blow.

"Holy crap, that's way too fast!" Li Jin cursed under his breath, the Shadow Demon's speed far exceeded his expectations.

"Li Jin, watch out!" Sophie exclaimed as a fireball flew from her hand and struck the Shadow Demon.

With a loud "BOOM!", the fireball exploded, leaving only a scorch mark on the Shadow Demon's scales.

"It's no use, Your Highness, your magic is ineffective against the Shadow Demon!" Old Wang cried out, his face pale. "Only Holy Light can harm it!"

Holy Light? Li Jin suddenly remembered the Holy Light Bullet that the system had previously rewarded him with, and quickly took it out of his system space.

"System, how do I use this thing?"

"Simply say 'start,' then aim at the target and fire."

Li Jin did as instructed, and a beam of holy light, radiating dazzling brilliance, appeared in his hand. He aimed at the Shadow Demon's abdomen and fired without hesitation.

"Li Jin, you're amazing!" Xiao Mei looked at Li Jin with admiration, her eyes practically sparkling.

"So-so, third in the world." Li Jin said modestly, but he was secretly overjoyed.

"Li Jin, are you alright?" Sophie asked with concern, her face still pale and her eyes filled with a barely perceptible anxiety.

Looking at Su Fei's pale face, Li Jin felt that unease well up in his heart again. "I'm fine, but you look terrible."

Sophie forced a smile. "I'm really fine. I was probably just startled."

Li Jin wanted to ask something more, but suddenly, the system's voice sounded in his mind again: "Warning! Unknown energy fluctuations detected within the host's body, analyzing..."

Unknown energy fluctuations? Li Jin was startled and quickly checked his physical condition, but found nothing unusual.

"System, what's going on?"

"Analysis results: A powerful dark energy exists within the host's body, slowly eroding it. It is recommended that the host find a purification spring as soon as possible to remove the dark energy from the body."

Dark energy? Purifying Spring? Li Jin was completely confused. What on earth were these things?

"Li Jin, what's wrong?" Sophie asked with concern when she saw that Li Jin's expression was off.

Li Jin shook his head. "It's nothing, I'm probably just too tired." He didn't want Su Fei to worry, so he decided to keep it a secret for now.

"Let's leave here first," Old Wang said. "It's not safe here."

Everyone nodded and continued walking forward.

After walking for a while, Li Jin suddenly felt dizzy and everything in front of him became blurry.

"Li Jin, what's wrong?" Sophie exclaimed and quickly helped Li Jin up.

Li Jin felt his body growing weaker and weaker, and his consciousness gradually blurred. He vaguely heard Sophie anxiously calling his name in his ear, and then he completely lost consciousness.

"Who...who exactly is she?" Zhang Hao stammered.

Old Wang's expression turned grave. "I'm afraid... she's a member of the Dark God Cult..."
