Keyboard Warrior's Otherworldly Adventure

Chapter 71 The Shadow Fiend Appears

Darkness engulfed Li Jin. After a dizzying spin, he crashed heavily to the ground, a familiar feeling of nausea rising in his throat. He struggled to his feet, leaning against a crooked tree trunk and vomiting. His stomach churned violently, as if hundreds of rats were having a wild party inside.

"Damn it, what kind of broken system is this? Does it even have side effects?" Li Jin leaned against the tree trunk, his face pale, and his voice trembling.

Zhang Hao looked disgusted and moved far away. "You bastard, go throw up over there, don't throw up all over me! It's my new clothes!"

Just as Li Jin was about to retort, he felt a warm current surge from his dantian, flowing throughout his body. The nausea he had felt earlier vanished instantly, replaced by an unprecedented sense of power. He clenched his fist, feeling himself brimming with strength.

"Holy crap, this feels... pretty awesome!" Li Jin excitedly waved his fists twice, his eyes gleaming with excitement.

Zhang Hao was so frightened that he quickly dodged, looking at him in horror. "Are you crazy? Don't use me as a punching bag! I'm not as tough as Lin Na!"

Li Jin then noticed their surroundings. They seemed to have returned to the place where they had fought before; the air was thick with the smell of burning, and black flames still lingered on the ground. Lin Na was struggling to get up from the ground, blood trickling from the corner of her mouth, her eyes filled with venom. The man in black was nowhere to be seen.

"Where is that guy?" Li Jin looked around warily.

"He ran away." Old Wang stroked his beard, his face grave. "It seems he realized he was no match for you, so he chose to retreat."

"He ran away? He's smart to be smart!" Li Jin sneered, walked up to Lin Na, and looked down at her. "Now, we can settle the score."

Lin Na wiped the blood from the corner of her mouth, forced herself to stand up, and showed no fear in her eyes. "You think you've won? Li Jin, you're too naive! I'll be back!"

Li Jin chuckled dismissively. "Come back? The next time you appear before me, I'll make you regret ever being born!"

He was about to teach Lin Na a lesson when Sophie suddenly grabbed his arm, looking at him with concern, "Li Jin, let it go, she's already injured."

Seeing the worry in Su Fei's eyes, Li Jin's heart softened, and he sighed, "Alright, I'll let you off this time. But if I see you doing something wrong again, I won't let you off easily!"

After saying that, he turned to Sophie, smiled gently, and asked, "Are you alright?"

Sophie shook her head. "I'm fine, I'm just worried about you."

Li Jin reached out and patted Sophie's head. "Don't worry, I'll be fine. With the system around, I'm invincible!"

"Invincible?" Xiaomei curled her lip from the side. "I saw you throwing up like crazy just now, and you call yourself invincible!"

Li Jin smiled awkwardly, "It's just a minor side effect, it's nothing serious."

Xiao Bai also peeked out from Xiao Mei's shoulder and made a face at Li Jin, seemingly mocking him as well.

"Alright, let's leave here first," Old Wang said. "It's not safe here anymore."

Everyone nodded and followed Old Wang away from this troublesome place.

Throughout the journey, Sophie stayed close to Li Jin, her eyes filled with worry. Li Jin noticed her unusual expression and asked with concern, "Sophie, are you really alright? You don't look well."

Sophie forced a smile. "I'm really fine, I'm just a little tired."

Looking at Su Fei's pale face, Li Jin felt a vague unease. He had a feeling that Su Fei was hiding something from him, but he didn't know how to bring it up.

Just then, the system's voice suddenly sounded in his mind: "Potential danger detected near the host. Please be vigilant."

Li Jin's heart skipped a beat. He quickly looked around, but found nothing unusual. Could it be a system error?

"Li Jin, what's wrong?" Sophie noticed Li Jin's unusual behavior and asked with concern.

Li Jin shook his head. "It's nothing, I was probably just too nervous."

He suppressed his unease and continued forward with the others. However, unbeknownst to him, danger was closing in step by step…

Suddenly, Old Wang, who was walking at the front, stopped and looked ahead with a solemn expression. The others followed his gaze and saw a dense forest in front of them, filled with an eerie atmosphere.

"Something seems off here," Zhang Hao said nervously, swallowing hard.

Just then, a rustling sound suddenly came from the forest, followed by a huge dark shadow slowly emerging from the forest.

The dark figure was at least three meters tall, its entire body covered in black scales, and its scarlet eyes gleamed with a bloodthirsty light. It slowly walked towards the group, and with each step, the ground trembled slightly.

"Holy crap, what kind of monster is this?!" Zhang Hao was so frightened that his face turned pale, and he hid behind Li Jin.

Li Jin also felt a pang of fear; the aura emanating from the monster made him feel an unprecedented sense of oppression.

"This is... a Shadow Demon!" Old Wang said, his face pale and his voice trembling. "Legend has it that the Shadow Demon is the guardian beast of the Dark God Cult, and its power is extremely strong!"

The Shadow Demon let out a deafening roar and charged towards the group...
