Keyboard Warrior's Otherworldly Adventure
Chapter 68 The Shadow Descends
A massive vortex in the sky spun slowly, like a black hole swallowing everything, radiating a chilling purplish-black light. A howling wind whipped up fallen leaves and dust, creating spiraling gusts of air that rushed towards the center of the vortex.
"What the hell is this thing?" Zhang Hao asked, his face pale as he clutched his still-bleeding shoulder. Tom, even more terrified, turned pale and trembled behind Zhang Hao.
Old Wang's expression was grave, the golden scepter in his hand flickering with light. "This is... a spatial rift! It seems someone has forcibly opened a passage to another world."
Li Jin's heart sank; a sense of foreboding washed over him. "Could it be Lin Na?"
As soon as the words were spoken, a dazzling white light suddenly shot out from the center of the vortex, and a figure slowly emerged from it. It was a woman dressed in a gorgeous long dress and wearing a golden crown; it was none other than Princess Sophie from the other world.
"Sophie?" Li Jin exclaimed in surprise.
Sophie ignored Li Jin, her gaze sweeping coldly over the surroundings before finally settling on him, a complex emotion flickering in her eyes. She spoke slowly, her voice as cold as winter snow: "Li Jin, come back with me."
"Go back? Go back where?" Li Jin was completely confused.
Sophie didn't explain, but coldly repeated, "Come back with me, and you'll understand everything."
Li Jin's doubts deepened. He felt that something was off about Sophie, but he couldn't quite put his finger on it.
Old Wang stepped forward, blocking Li Jin's path, and said in a deep voice, "Your Highness, Li Jin is my disciple, and he cannot go back with you now."
Sophie gave a disdainful smile. "You? A wretched old man like you think you can stop me?"
Old Wang's face darkened, and the scepter in his hand shone brightly. "Your Highness, I respect you as a member of the royal family of another world, but if you insist on this, don't blame me for being impolite!"
A cold glint flashed in Sophie's eyes, and a gleaming dagger suddenly appeared in her hand. "You old bastard, you're asking for death!" she shouted, her figure flashing as she attacked Old Wang like a ghost.
Old Wang dared not be careless. He raised his scepter, and a golden light shot out, colliding with Sophie's dagger.
A sharp metallic clang rang out, sparks flying everywhere.
Sophie was forced back several steps, a hint of surprise flashing in her eyes. She hadn't expected this seemingly old man to possess such power.
"Your Highness, I advise you not to act rashly," Old Wang said in a deep voice. "If you insist on taking Li Jin away, you'll have to get past me first!"
Sophie sneered, "Then let's try it!" She brandished her dagger again and attacked Old Wang.
The two instantly engaged in a fierce battle, their figures clashing, their swords flashing, a dazzling display of skill.
Li Jin watched in shock; he hadn't expected Sophie to be so powerful. He knew Old Wang was strong, but the fact that Sophie could contend with him made him very uneasy.
Zhang Hao watched anxiously from the sidelines. He wanted to help, but his shoulder injury prevented him from moving. Tom, on the other hand, was terrified and kept his distance, afraid of being drawn into the fight.
Just then, Sophie feigned an attack, turned, and charged towards Li Jin. "Li Jin, come with me!"
Before Li Jin could react, Sophie was already in front of him, grabbed his wrist, and was about to take him away.
"Let me go!" Li Jin struggled, but he was too weak to break free from Sophie's grasp.
"Li Jin!" Old Wang was shocked when he saw this and tried to stop him, but Su Fei kicked him away.
"Old man, mind your own business!" Sophie snorted and pulled Li Jin, about to jump into the spatial rift.
Just at this critical moment, a dark figure descended from the sky and struck Sophie on the back with a palm.
Sophie groaned, coughed up blood, and flew backward, crashing to the ground. Li Jin slipped from her grasp as a result.
"Who is it?" Sophie struggled to sit up, looking at the person who had entered with suspicion.
The newcomer was dressed in a black cloak, obscuring his face. He slowly walked up to Li Jin, knelt on one knee, and respectfully said, "Master, we are late."
"Master?" Li Jin, Lao Wang, Zhang Hao, and Tom were all stunned. They didn't understand what the man in black meant.
Sophie's expression changed drastically. Pointing at the man in black, she stammered, "You...who are you? Why did you call him master?"
The man in black ignored Sophie, instead raising his head to look at Li Jin, his eyes filled with fanaticism and worship. "Master, please come back with us. The Dark God Cult has been waiting for you for a long time."
This sudden turn of events shocked and bewildered everyone present. What exactly was Li Jin's identity? Why did the man in black address him as "master"? What kind of organization was this Dark God Cult? All these mysteries, like a giant whirlpool, drew Li Jin into their grasp…
