Keyboard Warrior's Otherworldly Adventure
Chapter 32 Linna's Secret
Li Jin struggled to his feet, wiping the blood from the corner of his mouth, inwardly groaning. Was this transmigration system playing a trick on him? Where was the promised cheat code? Where was the promise of crushing everything? How did he end up with something like this right from the start!
Sophie and Xiaomei were in no better shape; both were pale and slumped on the ground, trembling all over. Xiaomei clung tightly to Xiaobai, as if grasping at a last straw. Xiaobai shivered and whimpered softly, clearly terrified by the giant beast.
The colossal beast approached step by step, its stench overwhelming and making one dizzy. It lowered its head, its gaping maw almost touching Li Jin's face, saliva dripping down and corroding the ground.
"Damn it, I'll fight you to the death!" Li Jin knew there was no way to escape, so he decided to go all out. He picked up a rock from the ground and smashed it hard into the giant beast's eye.
The stone struck the giant beast's scales with a dull thud, but left no mark. The beast seemed enraged, letting out a deafening roar and violently swung its head, sending Li Jin flying.
Li Jin fell heavily to the ground, feeling as if all the bones in his body had shattered. His vision went black, and he almost fainted.
"Li Jin!" Sophie exclaimed, struggling to get up, but was pinned down by the giant beast's foot and unable to move.
"Sophie!" Li Jin's eyes were bloodshot as he tried his best to get up, but he found that he couldn't muster any strength at all.
The giant beast lowered its head, opened its blood-red maw, and was about to bite Sophie.
At the critical moment, a white light flashed, and a deep wound appeared on the giant beast's neck, from which black blood gushed out.
The giant beast let out a painful roar and staggered back a few steps.
Li Jin was stunned. What was going on?
He looked in the direction of the white light and saw a tall woman standing not far away, holding a long sword that gleamed coldly in her hand.
The woman had long, fiery red hair that danced in the wind like burning flames. She wore a tight-fitting leather armor that accentuated her perfect figure. Her exquisite features, sculpted as if by magic, exuded a heroic spirit.
"Lin Na?!" Li Jin exclaimed in surprise.
Linna gave him a cold look, said nothing, and swung her longsword again to attack the giant beast.
Her swordsmanship was incredibly fierce; each strike carried a sharp sword aura, leaving deep wounds on the giant beast. Although the beast was enormous and incredibly strong, it appeared somewhat clumsy under Linna's attacks and was simply unable to defend itself.
Li Jin was dumbfounded. This woman was too strong!
He suddenly remembered Sophie's "luring the enemy in deep" strategy. Could it all have been Linna's plan?
Sophie was trampled under the giant beast's feet, but she didn't show the slightest fear. Instead, she watched Linna and the giant beast fight with a relaxed expression, and even had a smile on her lips.
"You...you knew this would happen?" Li Jin asked with difficulty.
Sophie smiled slightly. "Of course. I deliberately let them capture me to lure Linna out. I knew she wouldn't stand idly by."
Li Jin was speechless. This woman was incredibly audacious!
The battle between Linna and the giant beast grew increasingly fierce; the beast's body was covered in wounds, dripping with blood. It let out a defiant roar and charged fiercely at Linna.
Linna nimbly dodged, and the longsword in her hand transformed into a bolt of lightning, piercing into the giant beast's head.
The giant beast let out a shrill scream, and its massive body crashed to the ground, kicking up a cloud of dust.
Linna slowly drew her longsword, its blade stained with black blood, gleaming eerily in the sunlight.
She walked up to Sophie, kicking away the giant beast's claws that were pinning her down. "Are you alright?"
Sophie stood up, dusted herself off, and said, "It's alright. Thank goodness you arrived in time."
Lin Na glanced at Li Jin. "What about you? Can you still stand up?"
Li Jin struggled to get up, feeling sore all over. "It's...it's alright."
Linna snorted coldly, "Useless."
Li Jin: "..."
He cursed inwardly, "This woman saved my life and she calls me a piece of trash? What's wrong with her!"
"What do we do next?" Sophie asked.
Linna sheathed her longsword. "Let's get out of here first. This place is very eerie."
The three retraced their steps, with Li Jin limping behind, pondering Lin Na's motives. Why did she save them? Had she truly reformed?
Suddenly, Linna stopped in her tracks, her expression turning serious. "Watch out!"
As soon as he finished speaking, the surrounding trees suddenly began to shake violently, and the ground began to tremble, even more violently than before.
Immediately afterwards, a deafening roar came from the depths of the forest. This sound was even more terrifying than the previous giant beast, carrying a suffocating pressure.
Li Jin's heart sank. What kind of weird thing is it this time?
He looked up and saw an even larger figure slowly walking out from the depths of the forest. It was several times larger than the previous behemoth and exuded a terrifying aura.
Li Jin's face turned pale instantly. What... what the hell is this thing?!
