Li Jin gritted his teeth, silently enduring Lin Na's ridicule. His mind was in turmoil, a burning rage within him. "This woman, she's like a dog biting Lü Dongbin, ungrateful for kindness!" he cursed inwardly. "If she hadn't appeared in time, Su Fei and I would probably be that monster's meal long ago. Now, instead of acknowledging the life-saving grace, she's mocking us—it's outrageous!" He secretly glanced at Lin Na, who was expressionlessly wiping her sword, as if the life-or-death struggle had been nothing more than a child's play. His resentment intensified, but he dared not lash out; the difference in strength was undeniable, and he could only swallow his anger.

"Ahem..." Li Jin coughed twice, trying to break the awkward silence. "Um... Lin Na, thank you for saving me."

Lin Na glanced at him sideways, her tone icy: "No need to be polite, it was just a small favor."

Li Jin chuckled twice, unsure of what to say.

Seeing this, Sophie quickly stepped in to smooth things over: "Yes, Linna, we owe you a lot this time, otherwise we would have been in danger."

Linna nodded slightly in response.

"What do we do next?" Sophie asked, looking around at the dense jungle that blocked out the sun, making her feel uneasy.

Linna sheathed her longsword, the blade making a crisp sound that echoed clearly in the silent forest. "Let's get out of here first," she said in a low, grave voice. "This place is very eerie."

The three retraced their steps, with Li Jin limping behind, each step aggravating his wounds and causing him excruciating pain. He pondered Lin Na's motives. Why had she saved them? Had she truly reformed? He had heard rumors of her ruthlessness and indiscriminate killing; her actions today were truly perplexing. Did she have ulterior motives?

"Linna, why are you here?" Li Jin asked tentatively.

Linna didn't turn around, but simply replied, "Just passing by."

Li Jin pursed his lips. This answer was too perfunctory! He was even more suspicious, feeling that Lin Na's appearance was not accidental.

Sophie and Xiaomei followed behind Linna, both silent, seemingly deep in thought. Xiaomei held Xiaobai tightly; Xiaobai's fur was still standing on end, as if it hadn't yet recovered from its earlier fright.

Suddenly, Linna stopped in her tracks, her expression turning serious. She abruptly raised her head, her gaze sweeping warily across her surroundings, as if she had sensed some danger.

"Watch out!" Linna whispered urgently.

As soon as he finished speaking, the surrounding trees suddenly began to shake violently, and the ground began to tremble, even more violently than before, as if some huge creature was approaching.

Immediately afterwards, a deafening roar came from the depths of the forest. This sound was even more terrifying than the previous giant beast, carrying a suffocating pressure that made Li Jin's heart sink.

"What the hell is it this time?" Li Jin thought to himself, a sense of foreboding rising in his heart.

He looked up and saw an even larger figure slowly walking out from the depths of the forest. It was several times larger than the previous behemoth, and its whole body exuded a terrifying aura, like a demon from hell.

The figure was translucent, shimmering with an eerie green light, like a giant will-o'-the-wisp. As it drew nearer, the surrounding temperature plummeted, and a bone-chilling cold filled the air. Li Jin's face instantly turned pale. This thing looked even more terrifying than the previous beasts! He felt a chill run from the soles of his feet to the top of his head, causing him to shiver involuntarily.

At that moment, the system's voice suddenly rang in his mind: "Ding! High-level undead creature detected—Netherworld Ghost General! Host is advised to flee immediately!"

Li Jin cursed inwardly, "Run away? My legs are like jerks, where can I run to?"
