Keyboard Warrior's Otherworldly Adventure

Chapter 31 Roar of the Giant Beast

"Sophie?!" Li Jin was both surprised and delighted, but then a deeper question arose, "Weren't you arrested? How come..."

Sophie sheathed her dagger, elegantly tossed her hair, and said with a hint of mockery, "Please, I'm Princess Sophie, how could I be captured so easily? This is called luring the enemy in deep, understand?" She raised an eyebrow, her eyes showing a hint of smugness as she looked at Li Jin.

"Luring the enemy deep into our territory?" Li Jin was taken aback for a moment, then realized that this girl had actually pulled off a counter-strategy! He shook his head helplessly; this princess was truly audacious. "Are you injured?" His tone unconsciously carried a hint of concern.

Sophie noticed the change in Li Jin's tone and felt a slight warmth in her heart, but on the surface she pretended to be indifferent: "These small fry? They can't hurt me." Then, as if remembering something, she added, "However, Xiao Bai went deep into enemy territory to track down the leader of the men in black, and his current situation is unknown."

"Xiaobai!" Xiaomei exclaimed, her worry evident in her voice.

Li Jin's face darkened; things seemed more complicated than he had imagined. He glanced around; the men in black were lying on the ground, only a few still struggling to stay afloat. He snorted coldly, "Quickly finish this!"

Having said that, he charged back into the enemy ranks, his moves fierce and merciless. Sophie joined the battle; she was agile, her dagger moving like a serpent in her hand, each strike precise and deadly. The two worked in perfect harmony, like two ferocious beasts, wreaking havoc among the men in black, quickly dispatching the remaining ones.

"What do we do now?" Xiaomei asked anxiously. "Will Xiaobai be in danger?"

Li Jin pondered for a moment, "Although the tracking talisman on Xiao Bai has disappeared, the traces it left behind should still be traceable. If we follow the traces, we should be able to find it, as well as the leader of the men in black."

Sophie nodded. "I agree. That leader of the men in black probably knows where Linna is hiding. If we catch him, we can find Sophie... I mean, find Linna!" She almost let slip the secret, and quickly corrected herself, her pretty face blushing slightly.

Li Jin naturally noticed Sophie's slip of the tongue, but he didn't point it out. He just smiled and said, "Then let's go."

The three continued deeper into the forest, following the trail left by Xiaobai. Deeper into the forest, the light grew even dimmer, and a nauseating stench of decay filled the air. All sorts of bizarre plants, their roots intertwined, blocked out the sun, as if monsters might leap out at any moment.

"This place... feels more and more unsettling..." Xiaomei's voice trembled slightly as she gripped Li Jin's sleeve tightly, as if only in this way could she gain a sense of security.

Li Jin also felt a sense of unease. He gripped the dagger in his hand tightly and looked around warily. Suddenly, he stopped in his tracks, his expression turning serious.

"What's wrong?" Sophie asked.

Li Jin pointed to a giant tree not far ahead and said in a deep voice, "Look there."

Sophie and Xiaomei looked in the direction Li Jin was pointing, and saw a strange symbol carved on the trunk of the giant tree. They had never seen this symbol before, but for some reason, seeing it made them feel a chill, as if something terrible was about to happen.

"What symbol is this?" Xiaomei's voice trembled even more.

Li Jin shook his head. "I don't know either. But I have a very bad feeling..."

As soon as he finished speaking, the surrounding trees suddenly began to shake violently, and the ground trembled as if an earthquake had occurred. Immediately afterward, a deafening roar came from the depths of the forest, making their eardrums ache.

"What was that sound?!" Xiaomei exclaimed, her face turning pale with fright.

Li Jin's expression turned solemn. He sensed a powerful aura rapidly approaching, an aura filled with evil and destruction that made him feel suffocated.

"Oh no! Run!" Li Jin shouted, grabbed Sophie and Xiao Mei, and turned to run.

However, before they could run more than a few steps, a huge figure rushed out from the depths of the forest and blocked their way.

It was a gigantic monster over ten meters tall, covered in black scales, with two sharp horns on its head, spewing black flames from its mouth, and its blood-red eyes staring intently at them, filled with bloodthirsty desire.

"What the hell is this thing?!" Li Jin couldn't help but swear.

Sophie and Xiaomei were stunned with fear; they had never seen such a terrifying monster before.

The colossal beast opened its blood-red maw and let out a deafening roar, a powerful shockwave knocking the three of them to the ground. Li Jin felt as if his internal organs had shifted, a metallic taste rose in his throat, and he spat out a mouthful of blood.

He struggled to his feet, staring at the monstrous beast before him, his heart filled with despair. Was he going to die here today?
