Keyboard Warrior's Otherworldly Adventure
Chapter 19 Poisoned Blade and Fangs
Blood splattered, staining the rocks at the cave entrance crimson. Li Jin reaped lives like the Grim Reaper, each swing of his sword accompanied by a scream. The air was thick with the nauseating stench of blood. Soldiers fell like wheat, fear spreading in their eyes. The leading soldier was already terrified, looking at Li Jin as if he were a demon from hell.
"My god, is this kid...is this kid a monster?" He trembled, and the greatsword in his hand became incredibly heavy.
Li Jin approached step by step, the tip of his sword pointed at his throat, a bloodthirsty smile curling at the corner of his mouth. "Now, do you think I'm just a nobody?"
The lead soldier's legs buckled, and he knelt on the ground, kowtowing repeatedly. "Spare me! Spare me! I was blind and didn't recognize your greatness. I've offended you, sir! Please, spare my life!"
Li Jin snorted disdainfully, about to finish him off with a single sword strike, when he suddenly sensed a chilling aura behind him. He whirled around and saw a short figure standing deep within the cave, holding a dagger that gleamed with an eerie green light.
"Tsk tsk, what a wonderful performance," the man in black sneered, his voice sharp and shrill, like fingernails scraping against glass. "Too bad, it ends here."
Li Jin narrowed his eyes, sizing up the uninvited guest. The man in black was short, only about 1.5 meters tall, completely shrouded in a black cloak, and wore a strange mask, revealing only a pair of cold, sinister eyes. Those eyes, like those of a venomous snake, stared intently at Li Jin, sending chills down his spine.
"Who are you?" Li Jin asked in a deep voice.
"Someone... who wants your life." The man in black smiled sinisterly, the dagger in his hand gleaming like a venomous snake poised to strike.
Alarm bells rang in Li Jin's mind. He knew this man in black was no ordinary person. He gripped his longsword tightly, and a blue light flashed once more, illuminating the entire cave.
"Sophie, Xiaomei, be careful!" Li Jin shouted, shielding the two behind him.
Sophie and Xiaomei were already stunned by the scene before them. Li Jin's godlike power just now, and the mysterious man in black now, filled them with immense fear and unease.
"Brother Jin, be careful!" Xiao Mei hugged Xiao Bai tightly, and Xiao Bai was trembling and making low whimpering sounds.
The man in black looked at Li Jin, a hint of mockery flashing in his eyes. "Protect them? You can barely protect yourself, what right do you have to talk about protecting others?"
Before he could finish speaking, the man in black vanished like a ghost. Li Jin was startled and quickly swung his sword to parry. With a "clang," the dagger clashed with the longsword, sending sparks flying.
The man in black was incredibly fast; Li Jin could barely see his movements. He could only rely on instinct, constantly swinging his longsword to defend against the man's attacks.
"Such swift movement!" Li Jin thought to himself, the black-clad man's strength far surpassing any enemy he had encountered before.
The man in black attacked while letting out a shrill laugh. "Your strength is indeed formidable, but unfortunately, your speed is too slow!"
Li Jin gritted his teeth. He knew he couldn't just passively defend; he had to find a way to counterattack. He took a deep breath, mobilized his internal energy, and pushed his speed to the limit.
"System, give me a speed boost!" Li Jin silently prayed.
In an instant, the blue light became even more dazzling, and Li Jin's speed increased dramatically. He darted through the cave like lightning, engaging in a fierce battle with the man in black.
Swords flashed and daggers danced as the two figures clashed, locked in a fierce and evenly matched battle. Deep marks were carved into the rocks inside the cave by the sword energy and dagger strikes, sending fragments of rock flying and dust billowing everywhere.
Sophie and Xiaomei huddled in a corner, watching the fight with bated breath. Their hearts were in their throats, terrified that Li Jin would get hurt.
"Jin-ge, keep it up!" Xiao Mei clenched her fist and prayed softly.
Just then, the man in black suddenly changed tactics. He no longer confronted Li Jin head-on, but instead used his agile movements to constantly dodge Li Jin's attacks and look for an opportunity to find Li Jin's weakness.
"Damn it, this guy..." Li Jin cursed inwardly, finding the man in black's tactics extremely troublesome.
Suddenly, the man in black found an opportunity. Taking advantage of the moment when Li Jin swung his sword, he darted behind Li Jin and plunged his dagger into Li Jin's back.
"Watch out!" Sophie exclaimed.
Hearing Su Fei's shout, Li Jin's heart skipped a beat, and he quickly dodged to the side. The dagger grazed his back, leaving a deep bloody gash.
"Hiss..." Li Jin gasped. The dagger was actually coated with a deadly poison! A burning pain shot through the wound, making him feel weak all over.
A smug glint flashed in the man's eyes as he saw Li Jin poisoned. "You've been poisoned by my snake venom; you can just wait to die!"
Li Jin staggered back a few steps, his face pale. He felt his body growing increasingly numb, and his consciousness beginning to fade…
At that critical moment, a furry figure suddenly darted out from the corner and bit the man in black's leg...
