Keyboard Warrior's Otherworldly Adventure

Chapter 20 Love Affair During a Crisis

Xiao Bai bit down on the man in black's calf, its sharp teeth piercing through his clothing and penetrating deep into his flesh. The man in black cried out in pain, his dagger veering off course. Li Jin seized the opportunity to roll forward, dodging the fatal blow.

"Little White, well done!" Li Jin struggled to his feet. Although his body was numb, he was still quite conscious. He never expected that at this critical moment, it would be Xiao Mei's seemingly harmless pet that saved his life.

Xiao Bai released his grip, took a few steps back, and let out a low growl at the man in black. The man in black, clutching his wound, glared at Xiao Bai, his eyes filled with murderous intent. "Damn beast!" he cursed, drawing his dagger and preparing to stab Xiao Bai.

"Your opponent is me!" Li Jin endured the excruciating pain and swung his sword to block the attack from the man in black.

"Hmph, at the end of its rope!" The man in black sneered and launched another attack.

Li Jin was now deeply poisoned, his movements were noticeably slower, and he was gradually falling into a disadvantageous position. The man in black moved like a ghost, his daggers striking deadly blows, and Li Jin could only barely parry.

"System, is there any way to detoxify?" Li Jin asked anxiously in his mind.

"Snake venom detected in the host. We recommend using 'Advanced Antidote,' priced at 1000 points," the system's cold voice announced.

"1000 points? Why don't you just rob me!" Li Jin cursed inwardly; he didn't have enough points at all.

"The host can also choose to use the 'Basic Antidote,' priced at 100 points, but its effect is limited and can only temporarily suppress the toxicity," the system added.

"100 points... that's fine, better than waiting to die." Li Jin gritted his teeth and chose the basic antidote.

A vial of medicine appeared out of thin air in Li Jin's hand. Without hesitation, he uncorked it and drank it all in one gulp. The medicine sent a cool sensation through his body, relieving the numbness, but the toxicity wasn't completely eliminated.

"I can only hold out for a little while longer." Li Jin took a deep breath; he knew he had to finish this quickly.

He swung his sword at the man in black again, this time with even greater ferocity and a resolute air. The man in black seemed to sense Li Jin's change, a hint of surprise flashing in his eyes.

"A cornered beast's struggle!" The man in black sneered, his figure becoming even more elusive as he tried to evade Li Jin's attacks.

Although Li Jin's swordsmanship was fierce, his speed was no match for the man in black, and several of his attacks missed. The man in black seized the opportunity and thrust his dagger at Li Jin's chest again.

At the critical moment, Sophie suddenly rushed out and stood in front of Li Jin.

"Thud!" The dagger pierced Sophie's shoulder, and blood instantly stained her clothes.

"Sophie!" Li Jin's eyes widened in horror as he caught Sophie as she collapsed.

"I...I'm fine..." Sophie said weakly, her face pale.

"Are you crazy? Why did you take a knife for me?" Li Jin's voice trembled; he had never been so afraid.

Sophie forced a smile and said in a weak voice, "Because...because I like you..."

Li Jin was stunned; he hadn't expected Su Fei to confess her feelings at this moment. Looking at Su Fei's pale face, he was filled with guilt and self-reproach.

"Silly girl..." Li Jin gently stroked Sophie's cheek, his eyes filled with tenderness.

Just then, the man in black approached again, raising his dagger high, about to stab Li Jin.

Suddenly, a loud noise came from the entrance of the cave, and a figure descended from the sky, kicking the man in black away.

"Who?" Li Jin looked up and saw a tall man standing at the cave entrance, holding a huge battle axe in his hand, exuding a powerful aura.

"Old Wang?" Li Jin exclaimed in surprise.

Old Wang grinned, revealing a set of bright white teeth. "Kid, I'm late, but I hope I didn't let you get ripped off?"

The man in black scrambled to his feet, wiping the blood from his mouth, his eyes filled with venom. "Who are you?"

"I'm your grandfather!" Old Wang laughed loudly, raising his battle axe and pointing it at the man in black. "Today, I'll teach you a lesson on behalf of my apprentice!"

The man in black's expression changed. He could sense the powerful aura emanating from Old Wang, a power far beyond his ability to withstand. He gritted his teeth, turned, and ran.

"Trying to run? Not so easy!" Old Wang roared and gave chase.

Only Li Jin and Su Fei remained in the cave, along with Xiao Mei and Xiao Bai, who were trembling nearby. Li Jin looked at Su Fei's wounds, his heart filled with worry.

"Sophie, how are you?" Li Jin asked anxiously.

Sophie shook her head and said weakly, "I...I'm a little cold..."

Li Jin quickly took off his coat and draped it over Su Fei, then hugged her tightly. Su Fei nestled in Li Jin's arms, feeling his warmth, a happy smile appearing on her lips.

Looking at Su Fei's pale face, Li Jin's heart filled with tenderness. He lowered his head and gently kissed Su Fei's lips...

Suddenly, a deafening roar echoed from the depths of the cave, followed by a powerful aura that surged forth, suffocating everyone present…
