The Walking Dead: I Sell Arms as a Sixth-Rate Seller in the Apocalypse

Chapter 83: Kocheta and Diane's time together, and Mieko's first battle against the berser

12:32 pm

Biological laboratory in Area A of the underground research institute.

Kochetta was tackled to the ground by a berserker zombie. Despite his struggles, the berserker zombie on top of him was incredibly strong, and he couldn't break free. Meanwhile, ordinary zombies gathered nearby began to approach Kochetta.

However, at this critical moment, the isolation door of the disinfection room opened, and a woman with brown hair, a protruding belly, and wearing a black special operations uniform appeared.

Her commotion attracted the attention of the ordinary zombies who had turned to walk towards the Berserker and Kocheta. The zombies turned around and bared their teeth and claws as they attacked Diane.

"go to hell!"

Diane roared, then pulled the pins on two grenades. She shoved the grenade in her left hand into the mouth of the nearest zombie, while throwing it with her right hand. The grenade flew toward the Berserker and Kocheta on the ground.

After completing this set of actions, Diane immediately retreated into the disinfection room. She closed the isolation door of the disinfection room again, then squatted in the corner of the disinfection room and covered her ears.

Two loud bangs rang out, and the room outside the disinfection room was instantly stained black and red.

The berserker zombie was sent flying to the side by the grenade explosion, while Kocheta lay unharmed on the ground.

Thanks to the fact that the black special operations suit he was wearing was something Rick redeemed from the system store, it had much better stats than the suits they wore themselves.

Kocheta pushed aside the mangled, bloodied zombies covering him, stood up unsteadily, rubbed his head which was still dazed from the explosion, and slowly walked toward the sterilization room.

Coacheta's wife, Diane, reopened the isolation door of the sterilization room a few seconds after the explosion.

The moment Diane opened the isolation door, she saw a muscular man wearing a black special operations uniform but without the Dawn of Light organization's armband.

At that moment, Coacheta noticed the woman in front of him, who was wearing a black women's special operations uniform and had a protruding belly. He immediately recognized her as his wife, Diane.

He excitedly ran towards himself, but at that moment, Diane raised her Beretta M9 pistol and aimed it at Kochetta, threatening him.

"Back off! Who are you? Don't come any closer."

Upon hearing Diane's words, Coacheta was taken aback for a moment, then responded excitedly.

“My dear Diane, it’s me! Coachta Solomon!”

After Kocheta finished speaking, he took off his combat helmet, and a bald white man appeared in front of Diane.

When Diane saw the man's face beneath his helmet, she cried tears of joy as she spoke to him.

"Cochetta? It's you!"

"Yes, it's me, my sweetheart."

Diane then rushed to Coacheta and hugged him tightly. Ignoring their surroundings, the two embraced and immediately began kissing.

Time seemed to stand still at that moment. A couple, reunited after a long separation, kissed each other amidst the blood and corpses around them, disregarding the smell in the air and the dangers lurking in the distance.

A few seconds later, the two relented, and Diane looked at Coachella with a happy expression.

“Cochetta, do you know, I once thought I almost lost you. If it weren’t for what Dr. Liz said to me in the sterilization room, I might have already gone to meet God with the child in my belly.”

After saying that, Diane touched her pregnant belly with a loving expression.

Upon hearing this, Coacheta kissed Diane on the head to comfort her.

"Hey, my sweetheart, even if I die, you must live on. How can you have such thoughts?"

"But I've lost everything—family, friends, even comrades-in-arms. The only thing keeping me alive is you. I can't imagine how bleak a world without you would be."

"But you still have our child, don't you? He is the fruit of our love, and the key to proving that we are husband and wife."

"So you really have the heart to let me give birth to him alone and then live with him in this dangerous world? Do you know how worried I was when I saw that ravager charging at you?"

"Alright, alright, my sweetheart, I was wrong. I, Kocheta Solomon, swear to God that I will never leave you again. No one can separate us. After you give birth to the child, I will fulfill my responsibilities as a father and husband."

After saying that, Kocheta squatted down and put his ear to Diane's stomach to listen to the sounds coming from inside her.

When he felt the heartbeat of that tiny life inside his wife's belly, his heart melted.

“Oh my God, Diane, I just heard our baby’s heartbeat.”

Kocheta excitedly hugged Diane's belly and spoke to her.

Diane smiled and stroked her belly as she spoke.

“Cochetta, this is the meaning of life. This child will be the first little life born in this post-apocalyptic world.”

"But he was also a bad kid. Whenever I think of you having no appetite or vomiting in the bathroom while hugging the toilet, it breaks my heart."

Kochetta said with some dissatisfaction, while Diane shook her head and said something in response.

"No, Coacheta, these are the trials that a mother must go through. Only after you and your child have passed these trials can you gradually understand the greatness of maternal love."

Kocheta continued.

"That's what I say, but I still feel really bad inside. But don't worry, no matter what happens, I'll stay by your side to protect you and the baby. Even on the day you give birth, I'll be standing next to you and cheering you on, Diane."

"Hmm~ You are a gentle and considerate man, Coachta. I am very happy to marry you and have your children."

"Me too, Diane. I'm so happy to have such an understanding wife like you and to have a child with you."

After they finished speaking, they exchanged sweet words and kissed again.

However, danger appeared at this moment. The berserker on the ground, which had been blown to pieces, gradually woke up. It shook its head and immediately saw Kocheta and Diane. Although a small part of its body was destroyed by the shrapnel from the grenade, it only slowed down its movement speed.

It growled at the two of them, got up from the ground, and charged towards them with a leap.

Diane immediately noticed this and raised her Beretta M9 pistol, pointing it at the skull of the berserker zombie and pulling the trigger.

A 9mm bullet shot out from the muzzle and immediately flew toward the berserker.

However, as if it had anticipated this, the berserker zombie held its claws to its head, and the 9mm bullet hit its claws just right, breaking off one of its sharp nails. Its speed did not decrease and it continued to rush towards the two of them.

When the berserker got close enough, it raised its claws and attacked Coacheta and Diane. Coacheta stood there helplessly. His AR15 assault rifle had been dropped not far from the berserker zombie during the previous battle, and the clothes he was wearing were given to him by Rick. Apart from their strong defense, he had no weapons to defend himself.

Even so, Kocheta bravely stood in front of his wife, his mind focused on only one thing: he would rather die than let this bloodthirsty beast harm a single hair on his wife's head.

With a death wish, Kochetta stood resolutely in front of Diane, while the berserker raised its long, sharp claws and thrust them toward Kochetta, who was blocking Diane's way.

"No! Coacheta!"

Diane screamed when she saw this. She tried to pull Kocheta aside, but she knew that the reflexes of the berserker zombies were much stronger than those of humans.

Even so, she didn't want her man to die saving her.

Just as the berserker zombie's claws, capable of piercing flesh, were about to touch Kocheta.

A loud bang rang out from behind the berserker zombie.

A 12.7x33 caliber Beowulf armor-piercing round tore through space and flew toward the berserker zombie.

In an instant, the Beowulf armor-piercing round struck the zombie's arm as it swung at Kocheta. In a flash, the berserker's arm, brimming with dark red muscles, was severed by the Beowulf round, and the terrifying kinetic energy of the Beowulf directly knocked the zombie aside.

Before the zombie could react, it saw its severed arm lying to the side, and a large chunk of tissue torn from its shoulder by the bullet, gushing blood.

The zombie immediately let out a painful roar. It looked in the direction from which the bullets had come, and then let out a roar of impotent rage in that direction.

However, just as it roared, another loud bang was heard.

A Beowulf round flew toward the berserker zombie that was still roaring and had only one arm left.

The one-armed berserker zombie sensed the threat of death. Just as it was about to get up, it was hit in the upper body, near its heart, by a round-nosed bullet.

In an instant, the terrifying power emanating from the Beowulf round-nosed bullet exploded in the heart of the berserker zombie. With the added power of the Valkyrie's Wrath affix, the round-nosed bullet was 50% more powerful than before, and this extra power was just enough to easily blast open the berserker zombie's chest.

The unfortunate berserker zombie was hit in the heart by the round-nosed bullet and instantly exploded into a bloody mist, scattering body tissue and internal organs everywhere.

Its head, displaying an expression of disbelief, flew to the feet of Coacheta and Diane.

Kochetta and Diane were stunned by what they saw. They stared in disbelief at the chaotic scene around them and the head of the raging zombie that had almost killed them.

Just then, a man and a woman walked out of the darkness not far away. The woman was a beautiful girl in a white Japanese school uniform, holding a large assault rifle. She excitedly hugged the arm of the man next to her and said...

"Hahaha, honey~ honey~ I've fallen in love with this gun all over again. The recoil is even less than the VSSM Night Demon silenced sniper rifle, and the power is even greater than before. It's so awesome, hahaha."

The man next to her patted the beautiful girl's head and said gently.

"Honey, those two shots were great. I'll upgrade this Beowulf assault rifle for you, and you'll be even more obsessed with its power."

The pretty girl next to him smiled and responded.

"Yes, thank you, honey~ You're the best to me, I love you the most."

After saying that, the beautiful girl, while acting coquettishly, clung to the man's arm and walked towards Coacheta and Diane.

The couple approaching were Rick and Mihoko, the sixth couple who had arrived earlier but were watching Coacheta and Diane's public display of affection from a distance.
