The Walking Dead: I Sell Arms as a Sixth-Rate Seller in the Apocalypse
Chapter 23 Very good, domestic abuser, you've found your way to death!
夜晚
Abandoned quarry camp
Military MTVR machine gun position
Rick said to the system, "System, system, if someone dies in the camp before the advanced mission begins, does that count as mission failure?"
[Ding! This doesn't count as a mission failure. Only deaths during a zombie horde attack count as mission failure.]
Rick: "So, if I wipe out everyone in the camp before the zombie horde attacks, it doesn't count as a mission failure?"
[Ding! Answering the host: Apart from a few members of the main group who cannot be killed, eliminating other characters who were destined to die in the original story beforehand will not trigger mission failure. As long as the host does not kill them during the zombie horde attack, the mission will not fail.]
Rick ignored the system and stared at the domestic abuser drinking beer and eating skewers by the campfire, saying, "Very well, Ed, tonight you have a way to die."
At this moment, Edward, who was still reveling with everyone, had no idea that tonight's meal would be his last.
Two hours later
The banquet ended, and everyone went home to their own mothers. Only the abusive man remained, sitting by the campfire with his two cronies, still munching away.
Seeing this, Rick knew his chance had come, and he immediately called Daryl over.
Just then, Daryl had helped his drunken, jerk brother into his tent. When Rick called him, he ran over.
Daryl: "Hey! Boss, what's up?"
Seeing this, Rick said, "Darry, you should just call me Rick from now on. It sounds weird to me when you call me 'boss'."
Daryl scratched his head in confusion and said, "I think it's fine. Since, boss, you don't like it and you want me to call you Rick, then I'll call you Rick."
Rick: "Alright, stop joking around, have a piece of this."
Rick handed Daryl a blue coffee candy.
Daryl looked at the coffee candy in his hand and felt it looked familiar. After looking at it more closely, he remembered that his jerk brother had eaten one of these blue candies when he was talking to him earlier that day.
Before eating it, his brother was in a bad mood, as if he was about to get angry at him. But after he ate the blue candy, the expression on his brother's face was like he was about to ascend to heaven with pleasure.
Thinking of this, Daryl put the candy in his mouth and quietly felt the changes in his mouth. He immediately understood why Moore's expression looked like he was about to ascend to heaven. His own expression was not much different from Moore's, and the feeling of satisfaction he got even surpassed that of the cigarettes in his pocket.
Seeing Daryl's blissful expression, Rick patted him on the shoulder and said, "Hey, hey, hey, now's not the time for you to enjoy yourself. I called you here because I have a task for you. Once you've completed the task, I'll reward you with a bottle of this coffee candy."
When Daryl heard that Rick was going to reward him with a whole bottle of these coffee candies, his face instantly lit up with excitement. He patted his chest and promised, "Rick, whatever you need me to do, even if it's just to beat up Moore right now, I'll do it perfectly for you."
Rick quickly waved his hand and said, "That's not necessary. I just need you to kidnap someone, and do it without leaving a trace."
Upon hearing this, Daryl frowned and said, "Rick, which bastard in the camp upset you? I can beat him up for you and get revenge, but killing someone is unnecessary, isn't it?"
Rick continued coldly, "The person I asked you to kill is someone you not only know, but you also hate."
Daryl: "I not only know him? But I also hate him?" Daryl pondered carefully who this person was. With the help of the coffee candy, Daryl's brain worked twice as fast as before he ate the candy. Then he thought of the person he wanted to beat to death.
Rick, seeing that Daryl had figured it out, said to him, "That's right, Daryl, the one you're thinking of. He's right there by the campfire, feasting with those guys."
Hearing Rick's words, Daryl turned to look at the campfire. There were three people drinking there. He didn't recognize two of them, but he knew the other one, a fat man who was eating and drinking.
Seeing that the person Rick wanted to kidnap was the one he had in mind, Daryl breathed a sigh of relief and said, "Rick, if the person you want to kidnap is him, then this is fine. You can even let me kill him."
Seeing that Daryl said this, Rick nodded in satisfaction and said, "Don't worry, you just need to do as I say, tie him up quietly, and take him to the biggest tree by the roadside outside the quarry and tie him up there. Don't do anything else."
After hearing Rick's explanation, Daryl thought for a moment and said, "It's not that it's impossible, but what's the point of going through all that trouble to tie him up there? If we need to kill him, why not just do it directly?"
Rick: "I don't want the people in the camp to know about this for now. Besides, you killed him near the camp, and the smell of blood might attract zombies. But if it were near the highway outside, even if there are zombies, they would continue along the highway instead of coming to our camp."
Rick added, "Besides, I already gave the order that no one is allowed to leave the camp inside the walls tonight. But if anyone disobeys my orders and runs out on their own, and gets eaten by zombies, the others in the camp won't blame me, right?"
After hearing this, Daryl pondered Rick's words and then said, "As expected of you, the boss, you think more comprehensively than I do. Don't worry, I'll make my move when I find an opportunity. Before that, I hope you can cooperate and move a few of the guards at the main gate to make it easier for me to leave."
Rick: "Don't worry, everyone's drunk tonight. Besides me, the only ones on guard duty are Andrea and Morales. They're on our side, so you can trust them. Just leave without worry, just don't be too conspicuous, understand?"
Daryl patted his chest and assured him, "Don't worry, Rick, leave this to me. You just need to prepare the coffee and sugar and wait for me to come and collect it."
Rick smiled and waved for Daryl to carry out the order, while he continued to stand guard at the machine gun position of the tactical MTVR.
campfire
When Ed and the others finished their twelfth bottle of beer, Ed said to the other two, "Ethan, Jack, there's no more beer, not a drop left!"
The two men, Jack and Ethan, said to Ed, "Oh my god, Ed, you can really drink! You finished a whole case of beer all by yourself."
Hearing their explanation, Edward patted his round belly, let out a burp, and said, "Burp~ You two combined don't even drink as much as I have. I've been the undisputed Beer King of our neighborhood for five consecutive years! Burp~"
Jack said to Edward, "Good, good, good, as expected of the champion, you are still the champion tonight. We both admit defeat. If there is another banquet like tonight, we will come back to challenge you again."
Jack continued, "Ethan, let's go. It's getting late, we should rest. We still have to finish the work Rick assigned us tomorrow."
Hearing Jack's words, Ethan joked, "Yeah, we still have to work tomorrow. I wonder if the food tomorrow night will be as good as tonight's. And Rick is going to select two most efficient workers tomorrow. Do you think we can be selected?"
Jack stood up, picked up his things, and replied to Ethan, "You never know. If we're both diligent tomorrow, maybe it really will be us..."
Before Jack could finish speaking, Edward interrupted, "Hahaha, what a joke! You two think you can get first and second place? Go to sleep! I'll definitely get first and second place. You two are lucky to even make the top 10, hiccup~"
After saying that, Edward burped at the two of them, and a stench mixed with alcohol and food immediately hit them. The two were caught off guard and covered their noses as they walked away. Jack said as they walked away, "Ed, you disgusting bastard, if Ethan and I can't have you, you good-for-nothing won't get your hands on you either. With your good looks and swagger, you'll be lucky if you don't get kicked out of the camp tomorrow. What are you pretending for in front of us?"
Ethan, who was also covering his nose, retorted, "That's right, if Jack and I can't have them, how dare you, a scumbag who only beats his wife and daughter, talk about us?"
Hearing their words, Edward didn't get angry but laughed instead: "Hahaha, at least I have a wife and daughter to fight with. You two single dogs have nothing. How about it? Aren't you envious? *hiccup*"
Hearing what Ed said, Jack spat on the ground and pulled Ethan along, saying, "Damn it, ptooey, that damn scumbag, he deserves to be taught a lesson."
Ethan, who was being pulled along, immediately said, "Yes, that son of a bitch Ed, it's really a hardship for Carol and Sophia, mother and daughter, to have such a beastly husband and father."
Thinking of this, Jack continued to say to Ethan, "Ethan, do you think we should tell Rick about this and ask him to help Carol and her daughter?"
Ethan thought for a moment and said, "I think it's a good idea. Tomorrow night, let's go find Boss Rick together and talk to him about this. It would be best if Boss Rick could kick this damned beast out of our camp."
Jack nodded and said, "Okay, let's do it this way. We'll go together tomorrow. Carol has always taken good care of us at the camp, so helping her this time is to repay that favor."
The two reached an agreement and returned to their own tent.
At this moment, Daryl, who was hiding in the darkness, heard the conversation between the three of them clearly. When he heard Edward say those things about Carol and Sophia, if it weren't for the coffee candy in Daryl's mouth, he would have almost rushed out and given Edward a good beating.
Fortunately, the effects of the coffee sugar allowed Daryl's reason to prevail over his impulse.
fifteen minutes later
He watched as Edward lay drunk on the grass, snoring.
He knew his chance had come, so he pulled out a rope and tied the fat, abusive man in front of him up tightly.
Because of the blue coffee candy, Daryl was stronger than usual. He carried the domestic abuser, who was tied up, on his back and walked towards the wooden gate.
Rick then instructed Andrea to open the door for Daryl. Daryl and Andrea exchanged a glance and nodded to each other. After confirming that no one was watching, Daryl carried the abusive man toward the road outside the abandoned quarry.
