The Walking Dead: I Sell Arms as a Sixth-Rate Seller in the Apocalypse
Chapter 17 The Past of Sean and Lori
in the afternoon
Abandoned quarry camp
The group gathered together, whispering amongst themselves.
The reason was that the leader of the group, Sean Wales, punched a man in a police uniform, sending him flying. The man in the police uniform was now lying unconscious on the ground.
Just then, a middle-aged woman who looked relatively young appeared next to Sean, leading a boy who looked to be about 10 years old. She asked with a worried expression, "Honey, what's wrong? Why are you so angry?"
The person speaking was Lori, who was with Carl.
Rick stood not far away, watching the scene unfold. When he heard what Lori said to Sean, a smile appeared on his face. He knew that in a little while, he would be able to get some juicy gossip.
Upon hearing Lori's words, Sean's expression darkened further, and his right hand, stained red with Grimes' blood, clenched into a fist again.
Fortunately, his good brother Grimes was still unconscious. If he had accidentally heard those words, their brotherhood would have ended. Although Grimes had asked his good brother Sean to take care of Lori and Carl, Grimes had not said that he would allow Sean and Lori to have a little brat. Sean's heart was like a bottle of five different flavors had been spilled, a mixture of emotions.
Fortunately, Grimes' face was stained red with blood, and no one in the crowd recognized him except for Glenn's looting team, Rick, and Marvin.
Marvin was still organizing his belongings inside MTVR, completely unaware of what was happening outside. Glenn and his group stared blankly at everything that was going on, clearly not expecting this to happen.
Sean glanced at the crowd out of the corner of his eye and realized that none of them recognized the person on the ground. At this moment, murderous intent rose in his heart. Originally, Sean's love for Lori was just care. When the virus broke out and the world became a zombie apocalypse, Lori felt like the sky was falling. When the zombie virus broke out, she and Carl saw the turmoil in the street. Lori took Carl and hid in the basement. At this moment, she was like a lioness who had lost the protection of her male lion. She could only take her cubs to avoid the dangers of the world. She and Carl hid in the basement and heard the thugs breaking into her house and brutally looting everything in her house.
Lori and Carl were huddled together in the basement, far from the entrance, shivering. Carl was still young and had never experienced anything like this before. He and Lori held each other, sobbing. He even fantasized that his father, Grimes, was wearing a police uniform, holding a weapon, and bringing the thugs who robbed their house to justice. However, reality was cruel. After looting their house, the thugs came to the basement entrance. One of them, who looked like a flour enthusiast, came to the door. When he found that the basement door was locked from the inside, the flour enthusiast shouted into the basement in a trembling voice: "Listen up, you inside! If you don't want to die, open the door for me now, or I'll smash it down. Then, none of you will escape."
Hearing the thugs shout, Lori and Carl hugged each other tighter. Both of them were sobbing, fantasizing that a man in a police uniform would fall from the sky and save her and her son. But when she thought about how the man was still unconscious in the hospital, a sense of despair rose in Lori's heart. She hated that man. Why did he have to get hurt when she needed him the most?
At that moment, a resolute glint flashed in Lori's eyes. She went to the side of the basement, picked up a large pair of lawn shears, and went to the entrance. Her expression was firm. She no longer thought about the man who had disappointed her. She decided to take up arms herself and defend herself and Carl.
Just then, the thugs outside the door cried out in terror to the others, "Holy shit, stop him!"
After a while, the gunfire gradually subsided, and then a man's voice came from outside the door: "Lori, Carl, are you alright? I've come to rescue you."
When Lori heard someone calling her and her son's names outside the door, she thought it was the man returning. At that moment, Carl, upon hearing this, excitedly ran to the entrance and opened the door. He saw a man in a police uniform standing at the door, holding a Remington M870, and then walked inside.
In the dimly lit basement, the face was obscured. By this time, Lori had already put aside her hatred for the man. After dropping the large scissors, Lori immediately ran over, grabbed the man's head with both hands, and kissed him. Carl, thinking his hero father had returned, also ran over and hugged the man's waist. The man was caught off guard by the scene before him and stood there, stunned, experiencing everything.
tens of seconds later
Lori released her mouth and looked at the man's face. When she froze, she realized that the man she had been kissing deeply was not her husband Rick Grimes, but her husband's good friend and colleague, Sean Welsh. Carl continued to hold Sean's waist, feeling the sense of security that the "father" in front of him gave him.
Lori realized she had made a mistake, so she pulled Carl away, stepped back to a meter in front of Sean, and said, "Um... I thought you were Grimes, so..."
Upon hearing Lori's words, Sean realized what was happening and awkwardly scratched his head. He had never been kissed so passionately by a woman before, but thinking about the wonderful feeling he had just experienced, Sean felt incredibly fulfilled and satisfied. He didn't want to miss out on this feeling in the future.
Sean said to Lori, "Lori, Carl, I'm here to take you away from here. You need to leave with me right now. My car is outside."
After saying that, Sean looked at Lori and Carl with a serious expression.
Upon hearing this, Lori said to Sean, "Sean, where is my husband? Isn't Grimes with you?"
Sean: "I was with him at the hospital before the riots started, but he was in a coma and I couldn't wake him up no matter what I did. In a moment of panic, I moved some heavy objects and blocked the door to his room."
Lori: "But, he..."
Before Lori could finish speaking, Sean interrupted her, saying, "Hey, Lori, before Grimes went into the operating room, he entrusted me to take care of you and Carl. There are riots happening everywhere outside right now. I came here to get you and Carl away from here. Once you're settled, I'll go back to the hospital to rescue Grimes, okay?"
Upon hearing this, Lori hesitated. She still loved her husband very much, and Carl greatly admired his father. However, everything that was happening was already beyond her control. She and Carl were both in dire straits, and besides, the man in front of her was someone her husband had entrusted to her.
Thinking of this, Lori said to Sean, "Okay, Carl and I will go with you, but you have to promise that you will come back to save Grimes after we are both safe. Carl is still young, he can't lose his father, and our family can't be without a pillar of support."
Hearing Lori's words, Carl breathed a sigh of relief, then picked up his Remington M870 shotgun and walked outside.
Lori and Carl followed him back to the ground. The streets were filled with violence. People were being pinned to the ground and eaten by zombies, while others who had been eaten got up and ran towards others. Thugs wielding clubs were looting from house to house.
Seeing the hellish scene before them, Lori took Carl's hand and followed Sean to the police car. Sean then drove the police car out of King County.
The journey was fraught with danger but ultimately safe. Lori saw many residents pleading for help from the police car she was in, but Sean ignored them completely, driving the police car away without a care. Those who couldn't get help were mercilessly devoured by zombies, cursing the departing police car until their dying moments.
Despite all this, Sean remained completely unmoved. For him, Lori and Carl were the most important people right now. Even if Grimes woke up now, he would choose to settle Lori and Carl first.
Sean even harbored thoughts of wanting to possess Lori and Carl exclusively. Grimes was still unconscious, and there were cannibalistic zombies everywhere. After losing their man's support, Lori and Carl, mother and son, simply could not survive in this dangerous world.
Thinking of this, a thought arose in Sean's mind that he wanted to replace his good brother Grimes as Lori's husband and Carl's father. This idea, like a seed of evil, took root and sprouted in Sean's heart, and then evolved into a devil's whisper, constantly echoing in Sean's ears.
after an hour
Sean drove out of Kingsshire and into a cabin in the woods, a cabin that Grimes and he had built together during their vacations before they got married.
Many years have passed, and although the room is covered in dust, the living facilities are still complete, so staying here for a short period of time is not a problem.
Sean moved into the cabin with Lori and Carl. Lori was surprised to see that the cabin was fully equipped.
She had been to this cabin before, after she married Grimes. Grimes had brought her there. The two of them were very young then, snuggling together like newlyweds, planning for the future. When Lori asked about the cabin's origin, Grimes proudly told her that he and his best friend Sean had built it together. They had even made a bet: whoever got married first would bring their wife to stay there for one night, and the other would have to buy an item as a prize. Obviously, Grimes won, and Sean lost.
Grimes didn't make things difficult for Sean. Instead, he took him to a gun shop in Kingsshire and picked out the bright silver Colt Python 6-inch .357 revolver that he had been eyeing for a long time.
Sean spent three months' salary to buy the gun for Grimes, as a wedding gift to congratulate her on her marriage. (In the original series, Sean ultimately died by this very revolver.)
Grimes and Lori were planning their future. Grimes wanted a son and a daughter, while Lori hoped Grimes would live a peaceful and healthy life. In this mood, they became very affectionate and eventually fell into bed together. Grimes and Lori's son, Carl, was born that very night.
