Huh? There's a magic school here.
Chapter 60 Preparations for the Bonfire Party
Andreas and Hagrid returned to Hogwarts and, after dinner that evening, notified all the professors to meet in the Headmaster's office.
That evening, Professor McGonagall, Professor Flitwick, Professor Hodge, and Hagrid, the Keeper of the Forbidden Forest, were all present in the Principal's office. Andres announced the decision made that day and by Anduin to them.
Hagrid knew in advance, so there was nothing wrong with it. The other professors, however, had just found out. Professor McGonagall had originally thought it would just be a visit, but it had turned into a bonfire party. So, after discussing it, they decided to set the time for this Saturday afternoon.
Around 3 or 4 PM, the students will first take a walk in the Forbidden Forest, and then go to the centaur village. A bonfire party will begin around 7 PM and last for about two or three hours. The students will then stay overnight there and return the next day after breakfast.
And so it was decided happily. Professor Flitwick even offered to perform a few magical acts at the party to liven things up. Having Andres's consent gave him a feeling reminiscent of a company team-building event from his past life.
The next day, Andres informed the student council presidents, Darius Pick and Diane Bryan. They went to Andres's principal's office; it was their first time entering one.
Just as they knocked and entered the principal's office, they saw Andres teasing a bluish-black fledgling with a strip of raw meat. The fledgling chirped anxiously as it watched the meat strip Andres held in mid-air. When Andres lowered his hand slightly to greet them, the little bird took advantage of Andres's momentary lapse in attention and jumped up to snatch the meat strip away.
On a distant scaffold, a snow-white owl stood, squinting as it observed everything. The scene was quite heartwarming. Andres gestured for the two to sit down, then turned to the owl and said...
"Snowflake, take the little guy back. Give him some exercise; he ate a bit too much today!" Then the owl spread its wings, flew over the desk, picked up the bluish-black fledgling that was still hopping on the desk, and flew into a tent in the corner.
Darius and Diane were a little puzzled as they watched the owl fly into the tent. Aren't owls supposed to live in owl towers? Why did it go into a tent?
However, they soon got the answer. Andres noticed their expressions and explained it to them.
"That's my magical pet, a young thunderbird named Thunder. Because it's so small, I had to find an owl to take care of it."
"By the way, would you like something to drink?"
"Thank you, Principal. Just a cup of black tea will do. What about you, Diane?"
"Give me a glass of juice, the tea is too bitter for me."
"Dobby, bring us two cups of black tea and one cup of juice. Thank you!"
"Yes, Principal, I'll be right there."
Soon, two cups of black tea and a cup of juice appeared on the desk.
"How have you been doing at Hogwarts lately? Have you encountered any difficulties that I can help you with?"
"No, Headmaster. In fact, Hogwarts is better than most schools, much better than our old school. Not only was the tuition at our old school high, but many things about it were also complicated."
"That's good. Have any students encountered any problems that the school needs to help with? Or does your student council have any plans for the near future?"
"No, but recently more and more young wizards have taken to playing Wizard Chess. We are considering whether to start a Wizard Chess club. As long as we can get more than ten applications to start a club, we will submit the request to the student council and get it approved."
“Well, after we’re established, we plan to hold a wizard chess tournament before Christmas. I wonder if the school could sponsor some unique little gadgets as prizes for the tournament?” Diane made a small request and looked at Andres expectantly.
"A peculiar little gadget? Hmm, I'll have to think about that. But I can grant your request now."
"Then we'll thank the headmaster in advance. We'll try our best to get the young wizards to submit their applications when we get back."
"By the way, I have something else to discuss with you today. We've recently discovered that many young wizards are secretly heading to the Forbidden Forest, which is extremely dangerous. So, to satisfy their curiosity, we've reached an agreement with the centaurs in the Forbidden Forest."
On Saturday afternoon, a group of young wizards, led by professors from the schools, will visit the Forbidden Forest and culminate in a bonfire party at the centaur village. I need you to spread the word and then, along with the prefects, help the professors maintain order on the day of the visit.
Upon hearing this, Darius and Diane were both shocked. What? A visit to the Forbidden Forest? And a bonfire party in the centaur tribe? Wait, when did centaurs appear in the Forbidden Forest? And they even formed a tribe!
After a brief moment of shock, Andres didn't rush to speak, but waited for them to process what had happened. Darius quickly came to his senses and asked Andres.
"Principal, are we really going to visit the Forbidden Forest on Saturday? Are there centaurs in the Forbidden Forest?"
"Yes, a centaur tribe called Waraxe has migrated to the Forbidden Forest. I've already communicated with them, and they are very welcoming of our arrival."
"That's wonderful! We've never seen what centaurs look like before. So, Professor, how long will we be staying in the Forbidden Forest? What do the young wizards need to prepare? What do the student council need to do?"
"The professors and I think we should meet at 3 p.m. and set off to spend the night in the centaur tribe in the Forbidden Forest. We'll come back after breakfast the next morning. The young wizards don't need to prepare anything; just remember to wear warm clothes. As for you, as I said before, your main job is to maintain order and prevent them from running around."
Darius and Diane exchanged a glance, both seeing excitement and curiosity in each other's eyes, and quickly nodded in agreement.
"Alright, go back and send out a notice. Get ready for this. Oh, and tell the young wizards not to say anything silly in front of them, like mules or horses. We need to show them respect."
"Understood, Principal Andres. We'll go back and pass the message on right away." Darius and Diane quickly left the principal's office.
After the two left, Andres called Dobby over again. Besides asking Dobby to prepare more food and firewood to send to the centaur tribe, he also suggested that the house-elves could come and join the bonfire party that day. This moved Dobby to tears.
After seeing Dobby off, Andres wrote another letter to Catherine, requesting one hundred sleeping bags by Saturday afternoon. Andres planned to bring the Sloth's Traveling Tent with him. He would then arrange for the young wizards to sleep in the tents, mainly for safety reasons, to prevent any young wizards from sneaking out in the middle of the night and to ensure they wouldn't get cold in such cold weather.
