Huh? There's a magic school here.
Chapter 6 The Scottish Highlands
"Oh, it's Andres! I'm so glad you're back. You must have spent a lot of money buying all this stuff."
“It didn’t cost much, I understand what Grandma Grey means. The money came cleanly, in fact, it was from betting on the World Cup.”
"In that case, thank you so much! The children are getting ready to eat. Would you like to stay and join us? The little ones haven't seen you in ages!"
“Of course, I was busy working and making money before, but now that I have money, I want to take a break for a while. Oh, and Grandma Grey, here’s a check for one million pounds, please keep it safe.”
"Thank you so much. The children haven't had any new clothes in a long time. It's not good for them to always wear your old clothes! Taking a break is good for them. What are your plans for the future?"
"What are you saying, Grandma Grey? You watched me grow up! It's only right that I do something for the orphanage. As for the future, I haven't thought about it yet. Anyway, I'll go to Germany for a few days first."
And so, Andres, carrying gifts, followed Grandma Grey into the orphanage, where he was quickly surrounded by enthusiastic children. He didn't leave until he had told several children bedtime stories and lulled them to sleep.
The next morning, the weather was quite nice, sunny and clear, which is rare in Britain, where it is usually cloudy and rainy.
Andres drove to the Scottish Highlands, his first destination being Inverness. Since Hogwarts was located there in the original stories, he decided to investigate.
To be honest, he also really likes the Harry Potter series of novels and movies. He read them when he was in junior high school in his previous life, and they accompanied him throughout his student years.
The drive from his home in London to Inverness is nearly a thousand kilometers and takes almost a day. Andres could have flown directly to Inverness and rented a car there, but considering he was currently on vacation and wanted to travel more, he opted for a road trip.
The journey took them through Birmingham, Manchester, Carlisle, and then Glasgow. Feeling exhausted upon arriving in Glasgow, Andres rested for a day, watching several World Cup matches with local fans at a bar in a neighboring hotel.
After a good rest the next day, Andres set off again, entering the Scottish Highlands from Glasgow. He arrived in Inverness in the afternoon, and Andres was in good spirits thanks to the beautiful scenery along the way.
He had been in a good mood the whole way, but the thought of the catastrophe that would befall humanity twenty years later filled him with regret. The tragedy of his past life must not be repeated; he had to find a way to cultivate more mages to resist the orcish invasion.
Upon arriving in Inverness, after checking into the hotel, he began consulting with the hotel staff.
"Hello, beautiful lady. May I bother you for a moment?"
"Hello sir, how can I help you?"
"Well, I'm here for tourism. I'm wondering if you have any good recommendations? I personally prefer natural scenery, preferably the kind that's not frequented by people."
"Hmm, natural scenery... I think Skye Island would suit you better."
"Oh? Sky Island! I think I've heard of it!"
"It's normal that you've heard of it. The Isle of Skye is a very famous large island in Scotland, but due to economic development, there are fewer and fewer people there."
Because of the island's excellent tourism resources, the remaining few hundred households rely on tourism for their livelihood.
"Thank you so much, beautiful lady. It seems that's where I'll be going tomorrow!" Andres said, leaving the waitress a hundred-pound note as a tip.
Seeing Andres's generosity, the waitress blinked her big eyes and told Andres that she was off tomorrow, implying that Andres could invite her on a trip if he paid a small price.
Andres thought for a moment, since going alone would be boring anyway, having a companion would at least make the journey less dull. So Andres readily invited the waitress to accompany him and paid her five hundred pounds as a guide fee, not caring whether the waitress actually knew how to guide him.
So the waitress, beaming with joy, made an appointment with Andres to meet him at the hotel entrance at nine o'clock the next morning, and happily went back to work.
Andres returned to his hotel room and began reviewing information about the Isle of Skye.
The Isle of Skye is located off the northwest coast of Scotland, about 50 kilometers long and only 8 kilometers wide at its widest point. The island is predominantly marshland, making it somewhat desolate due to its unsuitability for cultivation. This suited Andres's requirements; he was concerned that recruiting a large number of students would inevitably attract attention.
Once it attracts external attention, government departments will inevitably intervene. If the government perceives itself as a threat, it might prioritize targeting it. After all, wizards are an uncontrollable factor for the government and could affect their rule.
Therefore, Andres initially planned to keep a low profile. Once he started training a steady stream of wizards in a few years, even if the government found out, they wouldn't be able to do anything to him. At that point, he could choose to confront the government and cooperate.
After checking his information, Andres felt a pang of hunger. He casually flipped through the map on the hotel bedside table, picked out a steakhouse, and headed out. On his way there and back, he also saw a real estate agency, but he didn't need it yet; he'd wait until he got back from Paradise Island.
The next day, Andres took a beautifully dressed waitress and drove to the Isle of Skye in Historic County. Along the way, the waitress kept subtly inquiring about him, such as what he did for a living and whether he had a girlfriend.
However, when Andres honestly told the waitress he was a construction worker, she clearly didn't believe him. Aside from these minor issues, she was still a very competent tour guide. She even thoughtfully prepared some fruit and snacks for Andres to eat, and the two chatted and laughed throughout the trip.
Two hours later they arrived at Skye in Historic County, and Andres did see some nice places along the way.
My favorite spot is atop a massive rock, beneath which lies a lake and behind which is a small hill. Not far from the hill is a primeval forest. Even more amazing is that this giant rock is situated in a river valley, where the river is actually the sea, and the river and lake are connected.
Andreas decided to establish Hogwarts here. So he took the beautiful waitress on another drive around the island before heading towards Inverness. The waitress, who had initially harbored unrealistic fantasies about him, was now utterly disillusioned.
Despite feeling disappointed, she still adhered to her professional ethics and continued to introduce various landscapes and histories to Andres for the sake of the money.
