Huh? There's a magic school here.
Chapter 7 Buying Land
It was quite late when they got back to the hotel in Inverness. Andres treated the waitress to dinner, gave her another five hundred pounds, and sent her away.
The following morning, Andres arrived at the real estate company he had visited the day before. Upon entering, he was greeted by the same sweet-looking employee with a professional smile.
"Hello sir, how can I help you?"
As he said this, a glass of ice water was handed to Andres.
"Thank you. I need to buy some real estate, but I don't know if your company has the capability to meet my requirements."
"Sir, please rest assured, our company is among the best in Inverness and throughout the UK! Just tell us what you need, and we can make it happen!"
“Great, I like working with reputable companies. I went to Sky Island yesterday, and I loved the scenery! I want to build my own estate there, so I need to buy it. I wonder if your company can do that for me!”
"Oh, that's no problem at all. May I ask which plot of land on Skye Island has caught your eye, sir?"
"Not just one part! I want the entire Sky Island! I want the whole Sky Island!"
"Sir, are you kidding me? Regardless of whether the government sells the entire Sky Island, even if they do, it would be a huge sum of money!"
"Money is not the problem; the problem is whether you have the capability to make this happen!"
"I'm sorry, sir, I cannot answer that question. Please wait a moment while I go and fetch our company manager."
After receiving an affirmative reply from Andres, the pretty staff member jogged towards an office on the second floor.
In an office on the second floor, Smith, who had just finished reading the company emails, was in a terrible mood. Because of his continued poor performance, he had received a severe reprimand from his boss. The boss stated that if he was still at the bottom of the sales charts this month, Smith might lose his job!
Just as he was venting his anger, a rapid knocking sounded at the door.
"Please come in."
The company's receptionist, who was dressed as a vase, rushed in, her face beaming with excitement.
"Manager, we have a big order! A gentleman came into our store saying he wants to buy the entire Sky Island!"
"Are you still asleep? Who would want such a barren place! What would you do with it? Do you have money to burn?!"
"It really is the manager; he's downstairs waiting for you!"
"You'd better believe what you're saying. If it's false, you should pack your things and leave!"
After saying that, he left his office with a dark face and a pretty staff member who looked aggrieved. Soon he saw a handsome but plainly dressed young man sitting in the rest area drinking water.
As a manager with a background in sales, he naturally wouldn't judge people by their appearance. He quickly composed himself and walked up to Andres.
"Hello sir, I'm Smith Wilson, the manager of this store! It's a pleasure to meet you!"
"Hello, I'm Andres Mori!"
Upon hearing the name, Smith quickly searched his memory for information about the person, but how could he possibly know that Andres was a construction worker?
Smith glanced at the water glass and said to the pretty staff member.
"How do you treat your guests? Just a glass of ice water! Go and make us two cups of coffee!"
The staff member was taken aback at first, but then she saw Smith giving her meaningful glances, and she immediately understood. She quickly apologized, picked up her water glass, and left.
After she left, she didn't just go to make coffee; she quickly called over her other colleagues and asked them to help find a man named Andres Mori.
On the other side, Smith was chatting enthusiastically with Andres.
"I wonder if Mr. Andres came here specifically to purchase real estate or just stopped by?"
"Ah, actually I came here for fun, but I went to Sky Island yesterday and I was very satisfied with the scenery there, so I came today to ask if there's any way to get it!"
“That’s no problem, but Skye Island is a large island! Most of its land has been designated as a national park, and the rest is in the hands of the island’s residents.”
"Isn't this your problem? If it were so easy to solve, why would I pay you such a large commission?"
"Ah, of course! We handle these kinds of trivial matters for our clients! But what do you need this place for?"
"This is my personal hobby. I'll build a manor or a castle on it! What's wrong with that?"
"A hobby? This hobby is quite unique, but of course there's no problem with that!"
Just as the two were chatting, a pretty young lady came over with two cups of coffee and some desserts.
In addition to serving coffee, she also handed Smith a folder.
Andres picked up his coffee and took a sip, watching the other man flip through the documents. He understood that the other man wouldn't easily agree to anything before proving his abilities!
When Smith opened the document, he couldn't actually see how much assets Andres possessed. All he could see were basic details, such as Andres's background and occupation. Initially, he had thought Andres was a conman trying to get something from him.
But the information about holding a Centurion Black Card in the next bank information section left him a little confused!
No wonder this man was so confident he could buy the whole island. Everyone with this card is a big shot; there are fewer than three thousand people in the entire world qualified to have it. As for the construction worker, what a load of rubbish! He must be deliberately hiding his identity! After filling in a whole bunch of possibilities with his own mind, Smith smiled again.
"Mr. Andres, are you sure you want to buy the entire Sky Island? You should know that this is a bit complicated and will come at a price!"
"Everything comes at a price, doesn't it? So you just need to tell me how much you're willing to pay, and you can do the rest!"
“Okay, I understand, Mr. Andres. Give me a few days. Also, you need to pay us £100,000 as initial operating expenses. As you know, we need to deal with some government officials. As for the commission, I'll give you a discounted rate; we'll only charge one percent of the total amount.”
"Sure, no problem at all. Here's my number. I'm going to Germany for a few days. I hope you can get this sorted out for me as soon as possible. If you can resolve this within two weeks, I'll give you an extra percentage as a tip for your help."
After saying this, Andres left a check for £100,000 and departed. One might ask, shouldn't there be some kind of contract? What if Smith reneges and pockets the £100,000?
This shows your perspective. Would you give up the whole forest for one tree? Besides, Andres' strength is undeniable. Is there even a need to choose whether he's friend or foe?
