Huh? There's a magic school here.
Chapter 48, Second Round of Campus Construction
After placing the potion, Andres went to the bookshelf in the principal's office. Using the magic book card, a flash of white light appeared, and two more rows of books appeared on the shelf.
"Spell Achievements", "Exploring the Fifth Element", "Spell Innovation", "Selected Eighteenth-Century Spells", "Defense and Deterrence Spells", "Basic Spells for Busy and Anxious People", "Practical Spells for the Home", "The Book of Spells", "How to Deal with Dark Magic", and "Delicious Food Made with Magic".
Just by looking at the titles, it's clear that the system has provided books on magic and spells this time. "The Fifth Element Exploration" is practically a collection of magazines from the magical world. Andres, who was just worried about having nothing to read, finally has some new reading material.
"System notification: Two copies of the above ten books are available in the library."
Seeing this, Andres stroked his chin, a question arising in his mind. Our Hogwarts Castle doesn't yet have a library, or more precisely, it doesn't yet have an upgraded library. With that thought, he took action: "System, I want to redeem a library card."
"Successfully redeemed 3 library cards, deducting 300 system points." The reason he redeemed three cards was that he wanted to upgrade the library level twice. Besides giving students more reading materials, the main reason was also to allow him to read more books.
Looking at the newly appeared books, Andres didn't rush to browse them; he had other things to do. Looking at the professor card, Andres was somewhat conflicted. He had originally planned to teach only two types of courses this year, a total of three. Now, with an extra professor, he would inevitably have to teach an additional course. And it had been so long since the start of the semester—how was he going to explain this to the young wizards? A headache...
Despite this, Andres still used the Professor Card with a sliver of hope. The white light slowly dissipated, and a dashing witch appeared before Andres. This witch had silver-white hair and wore a black school robe. She walked up to Andres…
“Hello, Headmaster Andres, I am Rolanda Hodge. I mainly teach flying at Hogwarts.”
"Ah, welcome, welcome. Please have a seat, Professor Hodge! Dobby, bring me two cups of tea, and while you're at it, call Professor McGonagall." With that, Dobby brought two cups of black tea and then disappeared.
"Welcome back again, Professor Hodge. You know, I'm having a headache with the curriculum for this semester. There are too few subjects right now, but it's already been a month since the semester started, and it wouldn't be good to add new courses abruptly."
It's perfect timing that Professor Hodge is here; adding a flying lesson for the children would be wonderful. You know, just reading isn't enough; they need to get some exercise too.
“Principal Andres, you can rest assured to leave this to me. I’m even considering whether to organize a Quidditch tournament around this time next year.”
"That would be great, but would that mean allowing first-year students to join the team? Hmm, we need to discuss and think about that together."
Just as Andreas and Professor Hodge were discussing organizing a Quidditch tournament for the next school year, Professor McGonagall rushed in. She hadn't seen Professor Hodge for a long time, considering he had spent just as much time at the school as she had.
“Oh, Professor Hodge, it’s so nice to see you. How have you been lately?” McGonagall stepped forward and gave Professor Hodge a light hug.
"Ah, not bad. But you know, I'm planning to stay at Hogwarts until I retire!"
“That’s great. We have a few less wizarding classes here, so they’re quite free. You’ve come at just the right time.”
"Then Professor McGonagall, you can take Professor Hodge to rest. Also, remember to arrange flying lessons for the young wizards."
“Yes, Principal Andres, I’ll arrange it. Oh, and you need to prepare a room for Professor Hodge in the faculty lounge on the first floor. She can stay in the Gryffindor common room tonight. Also, flying broomsticks, I believe forty will be enough.”
“Okay, speaking of lounges. We forgot about Stan and Ern; I think they need a lounge too.” After watching Professor McGonagall and Professor Hodge leave, Andres opened the system and redeemed two more faculty lounge cards.
"Teachers' Lounge Card: We are human beings, not tools! We need rest! The fatigue recovery rate of teachers in this room is increased by 5%, and the fatigue recovery rate is increased by 5% with each upgrade of this room."
Seeing so many cards he needed to use quickly, Andres left the headmaster's office and went to the first-floor hall, then out of the castle. He used two Hogwarts Castle cards facing the castle. Soon, Hogwarts was enveloped in a white light, and a few seconds later the entire castle returned to normal. Because it was late at night, most of the young wizards had already gone to bed. However, a few sleepless night owls remained in the common room, and they sensed a flash of white light.
But seeing no thunder or rain outside, he assumed he was imagining things and went back to his dormitory to sleep. However, the professors inside the castle knew that this castle was different from before. The rate at which magic gathered throughout the castle had increased. Hogwarts Castle had advanced to level two.
But what Andres saw wasn't just that; a Quidditch pitch had appeared on an open space a few hundred meters away. Andres recognized it immediately—it was the Hogwarts pitch from the movies. Looks like the young wizards now have a place for their flying lessons. While the lawn in front of the castle was fine, nothing beats a dedicated flying area.
It was too late, so Andres didn't go to check out the distant stadium; he'd do it tomorrow. He went back downstairs and arrived at the teachers' lounge. Of the several lounges, only two had nameplates: one for Professor Hodge, and the other for Stan and Ern.
Andres didn't knock or enter. Instead, he stood in front of each of the two dormitory doors and used his faculty lounge card. Both lounges were upgraded to level one. Then he turned and left, seeing no need to disturb their rest. He went to the library on the second floor. Actually, some books in the library had been materialized and were usable thanks to Andres.
However, because the castle was newly built, the library didn't have many books and wasn't open to the public. But tonight was different. Andres upgraded the library to level two, and with the books previously produced by the system, the library now filled three huge bookshelves with over a hundred books of various kinds. These two upgrades not only increased the number of books in the library but also improved the students' reading speed and learning abilities.
"Library Card: Shh, quiet! Loud noises are prohibited here. This is the library! Each level up of this room increases the book collection by 10%, students' reading speed by 10%, and students' learning ability by 10%."
