Boonie Bears: Another World Fantasy

Chapter 54 The Eye of the Storm (Part 2)

"How much longer until we catch up with the main force?" Salta looked out the vehicle window at the swirling snow, a sense of anxiety and worry rising in his heart. He turned to the soldier driving the tracked vehicle and asked.

"Almost there, Captain! We've received the location signal from the temporary shelter and are currently tracking it with all our might." The soldier's reply relieved Salta slightly, but his gaze remained fixed on the white expanse ahead.

Sitting to the side, Su Luo glanced silently at the compressed biscuits tucked into Salta's waistband, her throat involuntarily bobbing. Having barely eaten for a day and a half, she felt dizzy and even started seeing stars.

"Little...Little Luo, do you have anything to eat?" Su Luo asked Little Luo beside her pitifully, almost pleadingly.

Luo, who had been dozing off, was startled awake by the sudden question. Instead of trying to hide it, he shouted:

"Huh? Doctor, are you hungry again? Didn't you just finish a frozen sandwich?!"

These sudden words shattered the surrounding tranquility. Upon hearing them, the other soldiers all turned their gazes toward Su Luo.

"I..." Su Luo's face instantly turned bright red, and she wished she could find a crack in the ground to crawl into.

Even Salta noticed it. He touched the bag of compressed biscuits at his waist, weighed it in his hand, then looked at Su Luo with a mocking smile and handed the biscuits to her.

Sulo hesitated for a moment. Hunger made her instinctively reach out, but pride prevented her from doing so. However, just as she was about to touch the bag of cookies, Salta, like a mischievous child, suddenly withdrew his hand, a smug smile on his face.

"Dr. Hunger, eat sparingly, this is my last bag." Salta deliberately dragged out his voice, as if mocking Sulo's predicament.

Suddenly, the entire carriage erupted in laughter. The laughter washed over Su Luo like a tidal wave, making her feel utterly ashamed, a surge of intense anger and shame welling up inside her. She even felt an urge to kick this annoying man a few times, to shut him up from his repulsive mouth.

asshole……

She gritted her teeth, turned her head away, and tried to calm herself down.

"We've been working so hard these past few days, we need to lighten the mood a bit—"

Su Luo was shocked that Salta would dare to sit next to her. Already having a bad impression of him, she was even more furious. She said, slightly angrily, "So you're just making fun of me?" She didn't even look at him when she said this.

"I really didn't mean it, Dr. Su, please don't take it to heart." Salta explained weakly, but his forced attempt to suppress his laughter made Su Luo grit her teeth in anger, and she couldn't help but clench her fists.

"Hmph, laugh if you want... whatever." She turned her head away angrily, deciding to ignore the guy. The young soldier opposite her, however, keenly sensed the subtle atmosphere between the two. He raised an eyebrow and gently nudged Salta's arm with the butt of his rifle, signaling him to go and appease Sulo.

"Come on, you're always thinking about nonsense all day long," Salta teased with a playful expression.

"Captain!" The relaxed atmosphere that had been so hard to create was shattered by this sudden shout. Salta instinctively gripped his gun and quickly stood up and walked forward.

"It looks like the search and rescue team ahead of us!" The driver slowly applied the brakes, bringing the tracked vehicle to a steady stop, then turned to look out the window at the ice sculptures standing amidst the wind and snow. When he realized that this "spectacular" scene was actually composed of countless living beings, Salta swallowed hard and waved to the people behind him to get out of the vehicle and check the situation.

"Everyone else, stay in the car and don't wander off."

......

“Tell me, Guardian, what has made you so angry?” Lefie shouted confidently, a hint of defiance even in his eyes.

However, Tuanzi merely tilted her head slightly, as if she had never considered Lefie a true opponent from the start. This contempt and disdain greatly displeased Lefie, but it also ignited a deeper fighting spirit within her.

In this environment of extremely low visibility and raging storm, the two stood like two indestructible mountain peaks, facing each other. Their figures appeared and disappeared in the gale, revealing an indescribable majesty and domineering aura. The atmosphere around them was unusually tense, as if even the rapidly moving air had frozen.

Suddenly, a dazzling golden lightning bolt ripped through the sky, instantly obscuring Lefie's figure amidst the storm. Like a ferocious beast, she pounced on Tuanzi. Caught off guard, Tuanzi was firmly pinned down by Lefie, her body involuntarily flying backward.

In the frigid, snow-covered wasteland, Lefie pressed on relentlessly, slamming Tuanzi into a colossal glacier. With a deafening crash, Tuanzi's body was embedded deep within the solid ice wall, sending countless shards of ice and snowflakes flying around it.

“You are strong, but you seem unable to effectively control the power within your body,” Lefie analyzed smugly after their brief encounter. However, before she could be smug for long, she saw a bright blue beam of light hurtling towards her.

The beam of light came so suddenly and at such great speed that Lefève had no time to react. Startled, she realized it was too late to dodge and could only watch helplessly as the light drew ever closer.

It contains extremely powerful energy, and its lowest temperature is even close to zero degrees Celsius. Such a low temperature is enough to freeze any object instantly.

Lefère was blasted dozens of meters away, his body covered in shattered ice crystals.

The dumpling launched another attack, charging towards its target with the ferocity of a battering ram. Lefie, caught off guard, was slammed into a massive, incredibly thick ice pillar by the powerful impact. With a sharp crack, the ice pillar split open and then collapsed with a deafening roar.

Lefie was bounced back the instant the icicle shattered, but her reaction was lightning fast, allowing her to parry Tuanzi's deadly punch. Immediately afterward, the silver threads in her hand swiftly wrapped around her opponent like lightning, and then she delivered a powerful left front kick, striking Tuanzi's relatively vulnerable abdomen with pinpoint accuracy!

However, Tuanzi only needed a moment to recover. She shook her head to clear her mind.

Huge ice crystals rained down on Tuanzi, who struggled to maintain her balance, frantically swinging her arms and fists to try and deflect them. However, this barrage of attacks was merely a deceptive tactic. Lefebvre suddenly dodged, his movements as swift as lightning, instantly appearing before Tuanzi, grabbing the antlers extending from her forehead, and then yanking her violently. Caught off guard, Tuanzi was thrown to the ground.

As if struck in a fatal weakness, her body became incredibly heavy, and she was unable to rise for a long time. Lefève, on the other hand, moved around her like a ghost, a polite yet mocking smile on his face, quietly waiting for his opponent to readjust.

"You're done after just a few rounds? So you can't make me happy either..." Lefie's voice was full of disdain.

However, at that moment, a powerful blue light suddenly shot out from between the tuanzi's beast horns, freezing everything around it into ice indiscriminately.

Within seconds, a suffocating chill gushed forth from the crumbling ice cave, threatening to engulf the entire cave in its cold. Huge chunks of ice and layers of hard permafrost poured down from a height of twenty stories like an avalanche, threatening to bury them completely.

Lefie reacted with lightning speed; instinctively, she leaped out of the "ice coffin" and flew towards the open space outside. At that moment, Tuanzi, struggling in agony, also tried to escape with Lefie. But she was too slow; the crumbling rocks mercilessly blocked her path, slamming heavily to the ground.

The dumpling's body was violently struck and then fell into the icy river below. With a loud crash, the ice broke and the river surface surged with turbulent waves, and the dumpling's figure instantly disappeared into the waves.

"They got away?" Lefie stepped on the shattered, broken ice, his eyes fixed on the bubbles disappearing into the water. He sighed involuntarily, "It's rare to encounter such a worthy opponent, someone you can really fight to the death with..."

Just then, the previously flowing water suddenly froze without warning, as if time had stopped flowing. Immediately afterwards, a white figure broke through the ice and, with lightning speed, pinned Lefève tightly to the cold, hard ground.

The dumpling's entire body emanated an aura of extreme cold, like an ice goddess from the polar regions. Lefie's limbs were instantly frozen in this frigid temperature, becoming stiff and immobile. She tried to struggle, but found her strength utterly insignificant in the face of this powerful freezing force.

"Hahahaha..." Unexpectedly, Lefève burst into laughter, making no attempt to hide his excitement.

"You are so perfect—" As he spoke, Lefie, who was in a frenzy, suddenly unleashed an extremely powerful energy. The terrifying power was enough to level the surrounding area! Countless golden streaks of light, like incredibly sharp knives, mercilessly swept across Tuanzi's delicate skin.

Tuanzi's heart sank; she immediately realized that Lefie was waging a protracted battle against her. At that moment, Tuanzi's already trembling arms moved with difficulty a few steps, then she gritted her teeth and did her best to stand up shakily again.

After all, she hadn't stopped for several hours straight. First, she engaged in fierce combat with the soldiers at the outpost, then she swept through the area without restraint, and now she had to face this powerful enemy from the Deer Clan. Tuanzi knew she desperately needed some time to recover her depleted energy.

An incredibly powerful aura surged from Lefève, sweeping towards Tuanzi like a raging torrent.

She dared not be careless in the slightest and quickly mustered all her strength to prepare for the attack. However, before she was fully prepared, Lefie had already launched his attack.

Lefère was enveloped in a dazzling golden light, transforming into a radiant sun that shone with an intense, blinding brilliance. Tuanzi felt a blur before her eyes, followed by an overwhelming pressure surging forth.

She gritted her teeth and fought desperately with Lefie. Her body began to tremble uncontrollably, sweat streamed down her forehead, and her breathing became increasingly rapid.

After their devastating collision, Tuanzi's body felt like it had fallen apart. Every part of her ached, and every cell was sending signals of exhaustion and pain. She took a deep breath and summoned the last vestige of energy within her. This last bit of energy was like the last straw she was clinging to; though weak, it was her final act.

Tuanzi clenched her fists tightly, gathering all her energy, and suddenly opened her arms, unleashing a dazzling ray of light from between her horns. This ray shot out like lightning, carrying unparalleled power, straight towards Lefève in the distance.

Wherever the ray passed, space seemed to be torn apart, creating twisted cracks. It traversed the void at an astonishing speed, heading towards Lefève.

The young high priestess of the deer tribe, however, was already confident. She floated up lightly, and with a sharp contraction of her pupils, the brilliant golden light from Lefie's All-Seeing Eye erupted from her eyes, indiscriminately igniting everything around her. Within seconds, the raging flames rapidly melted the surrounding ice, and scalding steam billowed out, enveloping the area.

The two beams of light, like two fierce dragons, entwined and intertwined fiercely in mid-air, neither giving way to the other, while a dazzling ball of light danced and leaped in the middle.

However, Tuanzi's strength gradually waned, and she could no longer withstand such a massive energy expenditure. Lefie's All-Seeing Eye cleaved through Tuanzi's freezing ray with unstoppable force and struck her with overwhelming power.

"Bang!" With a loud bang, a deep trench appeared in the ground, with wisps of black smoke rising from it, as if the earth had been torn apart. Tuanzi's previously out-of-control body rolled a few times on the ground after the explosion, and finally lay there motionless like a puppet with its strings cut.

Not far away, Lefie carefully parted the hazy steam and walked lightly to Tuanzi's side.

Now that even the most powerful guardian of this region has fallen at her feet, what else can stop her from advancing?

Lefebvre stretched out his foot and stomped insultingly on Tuanzi's chest, then bent down, picked up one of her broken antlers, and held it high as if showing off his trophy, a satisfied yet cruel smile on his face.
