Welcome to the Misogyny Game

Chapter 2 The Light Bulb

The next day, the woman's food supplies were running low, so she had to leave home and go to the supermarket to buy eggs.

Squeezed among a group of middle-aged women, I came out with only two discounted eggs in my hand.

"Damn it, I only managed to grab two. Looks like my hand speed is too slow. Next time, I'm definitely going to grab five."

"Haha." A handsome boy covered his mouth and chuckled as he looked at her. He was wearing a fluffy cotton coat, his eyes were curved into crescent moons, and he wore gold-rimmed glasses. His eyes were a mysterious purple. He had long eyelashes, his hair hung obediently on his forehead, and he wore an exquisite sweater chain around his neck.

He was holding a bunch of lettuce in his hands.

He smiled and said to her, "Junior! You're here to buy groceries too?"

He is Xu Wangzhou, a senior in the third-year detective club.

"Oh, it's Senior Xu Wangzhou. Are you buying lettuce to make a healthy meal?"

"Hmm, this lettuce is fresh. I'll need to buy some chicken breast later. Oh, right," the senior seemed to remember something, "smile, I remember the girl who recently died was a resident of your area, right?"

"Yes."

"In that case, do you have any self-defense weapons on you, like pepper spray or pepper spray?" the senior asked.

"No, but I brought a knife."

"A knife isn't powerful enough and could be stolen. How about I give you a bottle of homemade pepper spray? Spray it on any thugs you see."

You have received a 200ml bottle of homemade chili water.

After saying goodbye to her classmate, the female protagonist left with her basket full of gifts.

The streets gradually turned deep blue, and a few stars lit up the sky.

"We bought a lot of things, what should we eat tonight?"

"Ah!" A loud crashing sound rang out, and the female protagonist fell to the ground, her belongings scattered all over the place.

A man shrouded in black revealed his teeth, which were very pale in the moonlight, and the baseball bat came down again, this time aimed at his head.

Bang! The man descended from the sky, his white robe fluttering in the wind, and kicked away the baseball bat he was holding.

When the man in black saw someone approaching, he realized the situation was bad and tried to run away. The other man grabbed his shoulder and tried to subdue him.

After a struggle, the man in black was tackled and pinned to the ground.

The sirens blared, indicating that the man had reported the incident early on, and the police had taken control of the man in black.

"How are you? Can you still get up?" The man reached out his hand.

"Thank you, but I feel a little weak in the legs."

They went to the hospital.

"The patient only suffered an impact and has a mild concussion. After 15 minutes of observation, if there are no other complications, the patient can be discharged," the doctor said, holding the report.

Sitting on a bench in the hospital, the man handed the woman a glass of water.

"Were you scared tonight?"

"Yes, I almost thought I was dead. I don't know your name. How can I repay you?" the female protagonist asked.

"Just live well, that's all. No need to repay me. My name is Pei Midu, and I'm an extreme sports enthusiast."

"I'm Smile, a sophomore majoring in fine arts. I should repay the favor, how about I treat you to a meal?"

"Oh, so you're really good at drawing?" The man seemed more interested.

"It is okay."

"Do you know how to sketch? Could you draw me a picture? As a way of repaying your kindness."

"Please forgive me if the drawing is not good."

"It's nothing, it's just a token of my appreciation," Pei Midu smiled.

The scene shifts to white curtains fluttering in the wind, a wooden frame with an easel, two stools, one with paints on it, and the female protagonist sitting on the stool in front of the easel, picking up a paintbrush and lowering her eyes to paint.

Pei Midu, facing the easel, propped his cheek on his hand, gazing intently at the female lead with a smile in his eyes.

The paintbrush moved swiftly in her hand, casting varying shades of shadow, and a portrait quickly took shape.

Like a one-to-one reproduction of a black and white photograph, every frown and smile leaps off the page.

Smile, and you still say you can't draw?

Liu Chaoque was speechless.

When Pei Midu received the portrait sketch, his eyes widened. He carefully put it away and thanked him, saying, "Thank you, you drew it very well."

Smile's cheeks flushed red. "It's...it's alright. I'm glad you like it."

"Is the female lead socially awkward?" Liu Chaoque thought to himself.

The man who tried to kill the female lead halfway through the journey was actually the murderer. He thought the female lead knew his face and wanted to kill him to silence her.

However, the female protagonist usually stays at home and doesn't even know how to order takeout. She also doesn't dare to open the door when strangers knock.

The murderer had no choice but to wait for the female protagonist to come out to buy food, and then wait on the road she would inevitably take on her way back, intending to rob her on the way back. He thought he was being very clever.

It was enough to deal with a weak and helpless little girl, but he didn't expect someone to intercept him, and he was arrested.

Because the female lead was nearly killed, the school urgently arranged an off-campus dormitory for her. She could move in immediately with just her belongings, and they even provided her with a roommate, just in case she died at home and no one found out.

My new roommate is named Hu Qiao. She's a sweet girl with big eyes and a small frame, but she's strong enough to carry buckets of water up ten flights of stairs.

I feel very safe.

Hu Qiao is already a senior in college. In addition to looking for a job, her family has also arranged a blind date for her. The meeting place is a coffee shop next to the Jinsha River.

She didn't like these blind dates, feeling that entrusting her life's most important matter to someone after only a few meetings was too frivolous. But her mother kept calling, and no matter how much she refused, she had to give her mother face.

"There are a lot of fun things to do over by the Jinsha River. If we have time later, let's go have some fun together. Can you help me check out my blind date? If he's not good, I'll give you a hand gesture, and you can help me get out of this misery. Please, please!" Smile was speechless at her whimsical words.

"What if you like?" Wouldn't that just make her a third wheel?

"No way, no matter how much I like someone, I don't want to step into the grave of marriage and waste the rest of my life on it. I want to live a carefree life on my own." Hu Qiao lifted her bangs and laughed freely and flamboyantly.

"It's only because my mother is so afraid of this and that that I wouldn't even want to participate in this blind date."

After much persuasion, Smile finally agreed to this absurd suggestion, and the two of them seemed to be having a very pleasant conversation.

Smile felt that the person who had agreed to her promise just hours ago must have been out of their mind.

As an outsider, I feel incredibly awkward.

"Excuse me, may I sit here?" The gentle male voice was like a cup of lemon yogurt on a summer's day, soothing her annoyance.

Smile smiled and said, "Okay."

She stirred the coffee, and the slightly bitter taste was transformed into a subtle sweetness.

His fingers casually flipped through the menu, and he ordered a cappuccino.

While waiting for the coffee to be served, the two remained silent. Smile took out her phone and sent a message to Hu Qiao.

"Hu Qiao, should I leave now?"

"Hey, Smile, let's wait a little longer."

smile: "..."

She really wanted to flip the table and leave! Damn it!

She added a lot of sugar cubes to her coffee and kept poking at them with a spoon.

"You..." The handsome man hesitated, unable to finish his sentence.

Smile put down the spoon in her hand, smiled awkwardly at him, and was about to explain.
