Welcome to the Misogyny Game
Chapter 1 Lonely City People
Liu Zhaoque is a slightly socially awkward woman; she's the kind who avoids socializing if possible, but she'll chat if someone wants to.
She would feel very uncomfortable in a confined space with more than three strangers.
But none of these things caused her much harm.
In high school, she liked a boy who wore a white shirt and glasses, had a handsome face, and red lips and white teeth.
They sat at desks one in front of the other. When the boy talked to the girl, she was very nervous and her heart was pounding. But because she was afraid, the conversation ended there.
This was her first love. Later, she kept searching for his traces in other people. When she finally found him, she felt a little guilty, as if she had used him as a substitute.
In reality, she has one or two friends. The boys she's friends with are completely platonic and even celibate.
After graduating from high school, she chose Chinese Language and Literature as her major, where there were mostly girls, and she had almost no interaction with boys.
After graduating from university, she didn't intend to become a teacher. Instead, she went to work as an office worker in a company, writing documents for her superiors and sometimes New Year's greetings. She endured this for three years, and her social anxiety almost turned her into a social idiot.
Through her hard work, she saved enough money to buy a house near her home and, with the help of her family, built a three-story house.
After working for another year, she was forced to lay off her job and went home to relax, becoming a writer.
Sometimes, in order to experience the life of a lawyer and add some foundation to her legal writing, she would find five thick law books to read. In the end, she would feel dizzy and her eyes would blur. Only when she put the information into her writing did she realize the importance of lifelong learning.
She failed the bar exam and ended up playing adult games related to law firms; this was the first adult game she ever played.
The five main male protagonists in otome games: the first one is a top lawyer who wears gold-rimmed glasses and is incredibly charming when he's working, but is gentle to the core in his personal life.
The second male lead is a CEO who was originally an artist, but a sudden change in his family situation forced him to take on a heavy responsibility.
The third male lead is a policeman and the female lead's childhood sweetheart. He is at the forefront of investigating his parents' death.
The fourth male character is a thousand-year-old fox who became a history teacher in the human world. Because he experienced all of history firsthand, he often talks eloquently, which leads his students to believe he is a con artist.
Male Fifth is a local reporter who often infiltrates various shops to gather firsthand information; you can find him anywhere.
Liu Chaoque's favorite person is that big lawyer, hehe.
Don't fall too much in love with a refined scoundrel.
However, besides otome games, she also plays management games and even some popular shooting games that require skill. Although she really doesn't understand them and is often scolded by others, as long as she doesn't use her microphone and it's a male character, they won't take it to heart.
Since we don't know each other, let them curse us.
She also met a guy in a large-scale dating game who still thought he was a man and even asked her for advice on how to win over girls.
Hearing his hoarse voice, Liu Chaoque mourned for his love affair for three minutes.
This day marked the launch of the new otome game, Starry Night. As someone whose inspiration was nearly exhausted, Liu Chaoque felt that she had no choice but to participate in this otome game.
"Xiao Que, have you logged into the Starry Night mobile game?" Wang Qige called via video.
Liu Chaoque looked at the slowly spinning icon in his hand: "Not yet, it's 2GB, that's too big, isn't it supposed to be an otome game?"
"I also find it strange. Didn't the official description say that this game has high-definition graphics, large-scale scene replacements, a crime-solving storyline, and even the male lead isn't fixed? Maybe it's not a typical otome game. Hey, I logged in, and there are even different servers! What a great RPG! Let me see, there are only five servers available right now. Should we go to the 'Star Shift' server?"
"The Shifting Stars Zone? Fine." Liu Chaoque watched as the download progress stopped at 99%. After another long minute, it finally reached 100%. He clicked on the icon, and there was still a progress bar in the game. Liu Chaoque had already lost his temper.
Watch the cutscene above, and you'll see a handsome young man carrying a book walking towards you under a pear tree.
An extreme sports enthusiast climbs up a steep cliff and shouts with his arms raised, with mountains below him and clouds surrounding him.
Pilots wearing protective goggles fly fighter jets through the clouds, guarding order in the air.
In a room, in a studio filled with oil paintings, a painter uses his brush to depict his ideas on the easel, and a sunflower painting gradually takes shape.
In the blink of an eye, a smiling girl standing under a sunflower had her smile captured by a camera. The camera panned to a scene of billowing smoke and collapsing walls, where a man with a camera recorded the moment the bomb exploded.
The final image freezes under the golden osmanthus tree, showing the silhouettes of five spirited young men and women.
"A Pact with the Stars".
Liu Chaoque clicked on the "Shifting Stars" section.
It's another cutscene, but this time it's the female lead.
The female protagonist's pure white soul stood on the seemingly endless steps, surrounded by glittering stars, the Big Dipper being the most prominent. As soon as she stepped onto the steps, the starry sky on either side transformed into a series of time galleries, depicting her life from birth to her university graduation. A flash of white light appeared, and the female protagonist stood at the university gate, above which was written "Chenlong University".
After choosing the game name "smile," she clicked "start," and a massive supernova explosion occurred, launching her into the game interface.
"This game is really something else, it's a bit scary." Liu Chaoque looked at the female protagonist's image displayed on the screen, touched his chest and smiled.
"Yes, but everything inside is normal, and every card is very beautiful!" Wang Qige said excitedly.
Liu Chaoque's level is not high enough, so she cannot access the card draw interface.
I don't know how she reached level 10 so quickly in just a few minutes.
After a beginner's guide, and with Xiao Chen saying, "Have a pleasant journey, Miss Painter," she clicked on the first chapter:
New moon
On September 2, 2056, a piece of news shocked the whole country: a top student who graduated from Chenlong University died mysteriously at home, and this was the third time this year.
Police investigated nearby residents and identified three suspects: a neighbor who usually stayed at home and only liked to draw; a food delivery driver who delivered food that day; and a boss who had argued with the deceased two days prior.
“Miss Smile, please tell us what happened!” The handsome police officer sat down in the chair, and Liu Chaoque saw his character and said, “That day, I was cooking dinner at home. The sound of the range hood made me not hear anything until I heard a very heavy thud. I thought it was a resident upstairs who fell to the ground.”
"I didn't feel anything unusual, and then I heard several sounds of people rushing downstairs. It wasn't until I finished making my scrambled eggs with tomatoes that I realized someone had died upstairs."
"Sigh, I should have gone up and checked on him then; maybe he could still have been saved."
“The assailant had a knife. If you had come up unprepared, it could have been another murder,” the policeman replied. He then asked, “Do you know when the sound came from?”
"It was around five o'clock, just when my alarm went off," the woman said definitively.
"Okay, I'll let you know if you have any other questions. Be careful lately, keep your windows and doors tightly closed at night. The criminals haven't been caught yet, so it's best to be cautious," the police officer instructed.
The scene shifts again, and the female protagonist returns home.
wx interface
Liu Chaoque: "This is so exciting, the female lead is already in jail right at the beginning?"
Wang Qige: "The most exciting things are yet to come."
Liu Chaoque: "Is the female lead going to be attacked by thugs again?"
Wang Qige: "Hmm."
Liu Chaoque: "..."
