Rebirth: Supreme Soul Master
Chapter 91 Venerable Senior
“Hmm…” Berry hesitated for a moment, and William nodded slowly.
“Show him in the usual way,” William said, his words not missing Glenn’s keen senses.
Despite his excessive excitement, he was, after all, a Dark Gold Soul Master. For high-level Soul Masters, perception was the most acute quality they possessed throughout their lives.
"What do you mean?"
“It’s a secret.” William, like a typical child, stuck out his tongue and teased his uncle.
"Damn it! Who can talk to you for a few minutes without getting angry?! You damn kid!!!"
“Uncle, it really is a secret,” Berry tried to intervene and help William. “He…he has done so many great things for me. So please let him keep his secret.”
“Hmph, fine,” Grandma could only obey her beloved niece’s wishes. “Then let me see, through the normal way that all the spirits here know.”
As he spoke his last words, he focused his gaze on William. The latter, as usual, did not remain silent.
"Just like Uncle said, we should go with what we know here."
“Uncle…” Just before another battle was about to break out, Berry said, “Come on, take a look for yourself.”
She channeled bronze spiritual energy into the orange crystal, causing it to glow faintly before her grandmother's eyes. This ultimately succeeded in distracting her from William.
"You...you..." When he saw the bronze soul power inside the crystal, he trembled all over, hardly believing his eyes.
“It’s all thanks to William,” Berry emphasized again, “that’s why Grandpa called him here. He wanted to see and reward the person who helped me.”
"Me... buddy?!" In an instant, all his excitement subsided, and his eyes twitched.
Grandma had already sensed the danger. She knew girls were always drawn to kind, generous, caring, and thoughtful men. And what William had done could at least be considered a lifelong debt.
“William, right, I forgot to ask.” Just as he was already feeling so anxious about where this little relationship between the two children would lead, Berry suddenly shouted, jumped towards William, and grabbed him. She then took his arm and whispered:
"When I woke up, I couldn't find any documents you left for me."
"What?!?!" This time, it was William's turn to be shocked. "How could this be? I left it for you so you could continue studying when you wake up."
"What...? I asked the guards around me, and they all denied seeing any identification. Even my grandfather asked himself!"
Her tone and attitude told William she wasn't lying. Grandma could hear what she was saying from the side.
"What? Someone actually dared to steal my family's precious roses?" His tone changed, but compared to how William felt now, it was nothing.
He knew it was risky to leave the documents with her, but he didn't think anyone would risk trying to get them from her.
Otherwise, just like Gran's reaction, anyone who dares to do such a thing will incur the wrath of the entire Long clan.
“I will investigate this matter myself,” William said, but what he said next made his grandmother look him up and down. When William noticed the look, he added, “I never tolerate anyone stealing something precious from me or my close friends.”
“But…” Unlike the anger of the two people in front of her, Berry felt regret and blamed herself for losing the documents. “They…they were very precious to you, and…” She wanted to add more, but the words got stuck in her throat and she couldn’t say any more.
"Don't worry, I've got all that in mind," William reassured her, misunderstanding her thoughts.
But from her perspective, she didn't see these documents as just magical solutions that saved her life and relieved her suffering... she saw them as the first real gift William had given her.
For her, this first gift was priceless! Losing it would be a grave crime for her.
“I promise I will find the person who did this and punish him and those who helped him properly!” William said to her, making such a heavy vow to himself.
“Good lad,” Grandma murmured softly, her voice too soft for the children standing nearby to hear.
He could sense the determination in William's words.
“Leave this to us, kid.” Just as William finished speaking, leaving such a deep impression on everyone present, a deep and powerful voice came from the direction of the mansion entrance.
"Clan leader!"
"grandfather!"
William saw an old man with a frail face but a strong physique walk out of the mansion gate.
He was not alone; behind him followed a group of fierce-looking powerful Soul Masters, as well as Beryl's father, whose face was slightly darker than usual.
“I’m getting more and more curious about the terrible state of the academy right now… Hmph! I don’t know what that old man is doing out there! Letting these rodents run rampant without taking any revenge… as if it’s something fun!” Kong’s deep voice landed, indicating that he was truly insane.
"Senior"—if William calls Berry's father and uncle "senior," then he would call this legendary old man "senior."
When he clasped his hands and bowed slightly, the other three people who had been silent followed suit.
“At least this outsider has some manners.” Berry’s grandfather was the head of the family, so he acted so casually as he looked William up and down.
Although part of his anger was directed at William, he had to maintain his image in front of others.
