“Uncle, I’ll wait here for news.” William shouted from behind, his hands clasped to his chest, which made Berry’s father stop, before continuing on his way.

“Child, if you really care about your head landing safely on your little shoulders, then you must avoid doing two things…”

When Berry's father disappeared from sight in the mansion, Grandma turned around, her tone so serious.

“First of all, don’t try to provoke my crazy brother,” he pointed in the direction where Berry’s father had disappeared. “I love him. He’s a great man, a powerful Soul Master. But he’s too strict.” It’s way beyond the bounds of logic! And he’s a battle maniac, while you… you’re still a Bronze Soul Master, understand?

"Thank you, Uncle, for being so kind." William didn't take his grandmother's words to heart. Of course, he would never take her next addition to heart.

"Second, stay away from the most beautiful rose in our family, otherwise... you won't have to bear my brother's wrath alone."

Grandma pointed at Berry, whose face was already flushed red.

Listening to her uncle's words, she felt a little shy, but she didn't know why. Aside from that, she didn't feel a trace of guilt.

All of this happened because William helped her back to the forest. All the chaos was caused by William's kind intentions.

“I’m sorry, Uncle, I can promise I’ll try to consider the first thing. But the second thing… Berry is a dear friend to me.” However, contrary to what Berry and others, including Grandma, expected, William stated this so bluntly.

"Are you tired of life? Don't you understand? It takes you decades to get close to our level! Many people dream of reaching our level in the end."

"Thank you, senior, but what takes others decades to achieve, I can achieve in a very short time."

"Senior... Senior! You are incredibly rude and audacious! Do you think it's easy to be promoted from your rank to mine? Do you think it's easier the higher you climb?"

William's words made his grandmother very nervous, and she couldn't help but shout at William's face.

“The senior is guiding my cultivation, and I must show him respect.” Even though such a Dark Gold Soul Master was yelling at him, William did not feel any pressure.

He was already facing far more dangerous Dark Gold Soul Masters than he was here: "Senior, remember my words. I will definitely do what I say. See for yourself."

“Hmph, children… I hate children…” Grandma blinked twice, then scoffed. In her eyes, William was acting like any child, displaying delusions.

Grandma wasn't lying. The higher a Soul Master climbs on the long path of cultivation, the more difficult it becomes to advance to a higher level.

Just consider the increasing difference in soul power required for any soul master to advance from white level to bronze level, and then from bronze level to silver level; this is enough to prove the point.

To become a Bronze Soul Master, one must break through the 100 Soul Power barrier. To reach the Silver level, one must break through the 1500 Soul Power barrier.

The higher a Soul Master climbs, the greater this gap becomes.

At least he knew that every word William had just said was sincere.

"How are you now?" William finally seized the opportunity to check on Berry's condition as Grant stepped back a few paces to avoid losing his composure.

"You...do you know that you gave me a heart attack just minutes ago?"

"Hahahaha!" William couldn't help but laugh. "You'll get used to it. I'm not the kind of person who embraces every challenge."

“What’s going on here, huh?” Berry bumped into his head. At this moment, even though they were the same age, she was taller and could poke him with her outstretched arm.

"Oh dear, don't be nervous, I'm very fragile, I might break if I fall."

"Then tap it, what's inside? Jelly? Chocolate?"

"Hahaha, it's ice cream," William laughed, and Berry couldn't help but shake her head and laugh too.

Glen watched the two men from the side, sensing that danger was rising.

The relationship between the two seemed to be developing much faster than he had imagined. He had never seen his niece be so friendly to anyone, not even a member of the family.

Berry had often kept her distance from most (if not all) of her tribespeople her age. She didn’t mean to appear aloof, but her illness made her prefer to stay away rather than embarrass or insult anyone.

He, and everyone in the clan, knew how fragile her heart was. So seeing her act like this surprised and shocked him.

“Tell me, did you train according to my instructions? And how did it go?” William ended the joke and turned to what really mattered.

“I’ve already reached the Bronze level.” As soon as he asked this, she raised her head, looking quite smug, which startled even her uncle.

"What? Is this true? Is this true?" Grandma couldn't help but jump over, pick Berry up from her arms, and keep asking nervously and incredulously.

He knew she had recovered, but he was unaware of her breakthrough.

“Yes, I broke through, and it’s all thanks to him,” Berry thought to herself as her arms were held down by her uncle’s brute force.

"This...that..." Grandma's gaze darted back and forth between her and William, unable to believe what she had just heard. "Is this...really true? Let me see, quickly get a crystal out and show it to your uncle!"
