Rebirth: Supreme Soul Master

Chapter 23: Doing Something Big

"Can you at least tell me your master's name?" After several attempts to find out the identity of William's mysterious master and her current whereabouts, Elena couldn't help but ask this question.

If she knew the name, she could begin to dig deeper into the master's life, and might even be lucky enough to find out her whereabouts.

All she wanted now was to meet such a legendary master. If her disciple, a mere porter living in the academy, could display such incredible moves and skills, then Elena could only imagine what William's master must be like.

“I can’t say anything without her permission,” William said, remaining unmoved. “You know she’s my master, and I have to listen to everything she says.”

“It’s a miracle that she could hide so well,” Elena exclaimed. “I can hardly believe that there is such a brilliant master in the same world as me, and I didn’t even know she existed.”

She had been trying to guess the identity of the master. But none of the famous quotes she knew matched William's master's identity.

She is not only a mysterious master blacksmith, but she also seems to be isolated from any known power in the world of Soul Masters. Apart from the peculiarity of her blacksmithing methods, if such a person exists in this world, she would be renowned for her bizarre skills.

However, she doesn't even have a name that meets such criteria. If someone else told her this, she might question the story's completeness rather than believe it.

But she witnessed it all firsthand, seeing how William used his new skills to process the Crimson Vitality Ore.

"Can you tell me more about what you've been doing here?" she asked, mustering her courage, after William had finished eating and had eaten almost half of the sumptuous meal.

"May I ask why?" William didn't rush to refuse her request. After all, he might be able to get something useful like a potion if he did.

“I think the clay method could also be used on other ores, right?” Elena didn’t hide her thoughts. When William remained silent, she continued, “For example, if we used Thunder Lick Ore instead of Crimson Vitality Ore, we could create brutal weapons that could even kill unique monsters!”

She seemed excited, and William understood why. “It might work in theory, but it won’t work in practice,” he said slowly. “It’s very difficult to control this kind of violent ore with this kind of clay.”

“Why?” She forgot she was talking to an eight-year-old and a porter. Then she launched into a long discussion, just as she would with a master craftsman colleague in the forging department.

William's answers were not limited to "yes" and "no". He began to slowly explain a simple concept known to the outside world: the concept of energy capacity.

The hostage clay possesses excellent controllability, but its inherent strength limits its use. As he slowly explained this to her, she began to glimpse a completely new world.

“If you’re so curious, I can have my master write some methods to control some hard-to-forge ores so that we can get better profits from them,” William interjected at the end. “But that will come at a price, course.”

“Anything is negotiable,” Elena agreed without hesitation. “I’ll give her whatever she wants.”

She wasn't overstepping her bounds here. She was certain that if any other master blacksmith were in her position, he would agree.

“It’s no big deal,” William said casually. “Besides, I can also bring a lot of manuals on how to forge new alloys and create excellent gears. However, the things made according to my master’s methods and guidance will sell for a high price. Of course, after deducting the initial cost of materials, my master will demand a 50% cut of the profits.”

“This…” Elena paused for a moment, and William mistakenly thought her silence was a rejection.

“You need to understand that the value of this method lies not only in the price of the final gear, but also in the innovation of the way of thinking itself,” William said slowly, profoundly explaining why he demanded fifty percent.

“Not really, it’s just that the price seems a bit low.” Elena knew that from a profit perspective, this might be a good deal, so she didn’t refuse. However, her gaze wasn’t on the deal, but on the mysterious figure behind William.

“Here’s what we’ll do: your master will take fifty percent of the price of any item, regardless of material costs.” She decided to offer William a lucrative deal so she could build a strong relationship with his master.

“A deal!” Whatever her plans, William would be a fool to refuse such a deal. “Anyway, I’ll be seeing my master soon, and if he agrees when I get back, I’ll hand over the cultivation technique.”

Despite having no master, he was the master of everything, and William still decided to do so. But alas, people's hearts are different after all.

Elena may be a good person, but if she were discovered by another person with a dark mind and a twisted soul, he might face problems he cannot cope with.

He had to put his master first as a form of protection, even if it meant wasting his time in return.

“Okay, how long will you be gone?” Elena was excited about the deal. If William hadn’t needed to finish his final product, she would have left long ago to tell the headmaster of the forging department the news.

"It's been about a week." William couldn't give a definite answer. After all, his return was related to the soul power enhancement plan.

“A week isn’t a long time.” Elena breathed a sigh of relief, then realized something but didn’t say it aloud. If William needed a week to visit his master and then return, then his master must live nearby.

She decided to keep the note for herself and try to find that master herself.

If she weren't afraid of causing misunderstandings, she would rather follow William all the way and keep track of his footsteps.

"What are you doing?" After completing the transaction, William stood up, looking refreshed, and went back to work.

Alina stood beside him, watching him sort through the first batch of dark ore he was processing.

“I’m making arrows,” he said, pointing to the mold she was making, as if to say: Isn’t it obvious?

"I mean, what do you plan to do with these ores?" Alina rolled her eyes comically. If it weren't for her rather angular features, she would probably look quite pretty.
