The Road to Godhood in Honor of Kings

Chapter 11 Encounter Under the Tree (Part 1)

With a skeptical attitude, Han Cheng flipped through the books for other subjects several more times. And it was true! After just one reading, the contents of the book would be easily memorized, without any pressure at all!

Thinking about his current superpowers, Han Cheng felt incredibly lucky. He was initially being hunted by enemies, but instead, he turned misfortune into blessing, gaining a pair of magical eyes and at least two extraordinary abilities (with more being developed...). In short, what can one say? ("What can one say?" is the phrase itself.)

Thinking about his superpower, Han Cheng couldn't help but chuckle to himself.

"Chen, did I just torture you so badly that you went crazy?" Xu Xiaomeng nudged Han Cheng, who was grinning foolishly, with her elbow.

"No!" Han Cheng said, "I just thought of something happy, what was it again?" To make his excuse sound perfect, Han Cheng made up the excuse that he had forgotten what he was thinking, afraid that Xu Xiaomeng would ask more questions, but Xu Xiaomeng had no intention of asking at all.

At noon, in the grove of trees—no, under the big tree!

Han Cheng and his friends returned to their usual spot to play Honor of Kings. They weren't the only ones obsessed with the game; the entire school was abuzz with this "team-up everywhere" phenomenon. Eleven out of the twenty classes in the senior year had players of Honor of Kings.

"Monkey, why did you play a monkey again?" the fat man complained. He had originally wanted Sun Wukong to play a tanky warrior, but Sun Wukong chose his faith, who was also his brother (or relative).

"Monkeys are my faith!" Sun Wukong clicked "confirm" without hesitation. However, since Ye Bing had already chosen meat, it didn't matter if Sun Wukong chose crispy skin.

"Sigh!" Looking at the fat monkey and his love-hate relationship, Han Cheng shook his head helplessly.

Within three minutes of the game starting, Han Cheng's Han Xin had already dominated the jungle, constantly invading and stealing jungle camps. The opposing jungler had to be on tenterhooks, fearing that a small, heavily armored hero would suddenly jump out and start attacking wildly, and then the screen would go black... It seems the opposing jungler had a pretty strong mentality and played relatively steadily. If it were someone with a heart condition, they would probably be scared into going to the hospital by Han Cheng's unpredictable appearances.

I'm not bragging, but Han Cheng, with his "Vision of Illusion" (I'll skip the quotes for convenience, I'm lazy), and his already long-legged Han Xin, showed no mercy in the enemy jungle, infuriating the opposing jungler. He'd just brought the red buff to low health, only to see a lightning bolt appear above it, and his experience bar remained unchanged—no doubt, the jungle monster had been stolen! However, this wasn't the first time he'd counter-jungled. Even when the other four enemy players came to gank Han Cheng's Han Xin, with his global vision, Han Cheng easily maneuvered his Han Xin through a few walls to escape. And as soon as they left, he'd go again!

Trying to steal my jungle monsters? I'll wait until they're low on health before using Smite, then let's see how you steal them!

—That's what the enemy jungler was thinking.

However, Han Cheng always manages to accurately estimate the monster's health. Whenever it's time to use Smite, Han Cheng always manages to steal the monster first, and if possible, he'll also send the jungler to the afterlife!

"Damn, Little Orange, 666!" the fat man exclaimed, slapping his thigh in admiration (because there was no case here).

"Yeah! How come you, Han Cheng, are so good? You're so good at counter-jungling that the enemy jungler can't even take care of himself. Every time the enemy comes to gank you, you run away incredibly fast! If we weren't playing with you, I would really suspect that you're cheating!" Sun Hou said.

Han Cheng remained silent. His economy was already ahead, and the slaughter had begun. First skill to knock them up, followed by his ultimate, then a basic attack. Trying to escape? First skill, second stage, to close the gap! Or worse, a Frostbite! And a second skill! Still trying to escape? Sorry, you're dreaming! You're already dead!

That's right, one skill combo, and anyone who gets killed is dead! The damage is just that explosive! What can I do when my equipment is so good? After unleashing a set of skills, I confidently turned around and went to support my teammates without the slightest hesitation, while the notification sound of the enemy being killed rang out.

"Damn, 666!" Sun Wukong couldn't help but exclaim. His monkey had performed poorly this game, with all the economy coming from Han Cheng's Han Xin.

"I bet Little Orange became a god after a car accident," the fat man casually remarked. Han Cheng was startled. Had his superpowers already been discovered? Would he be locked up in a lab like a guinea pig for research? But after a moment, Han Cheng thought he was overthinking it. He hadn't told anyone, and besides, with current medical technology, it was impossible to test whether someone had superpowers (at least that's what the author thought). The fat man was right, though; he had indeed become a god after a car accident. But perhaps he was already a god to begin with? Even if he was a low-level god.

After the game ended (it was called a game, not a formal competition), Han Cheng won the MVP with a score of 16-0-6. Despite Han Cheng's outstanding performance, he still noticed that Ye Bing was exceptionally aggressive. Xiang Yu was a tank, but Ye Bing played him with both tankiness and damage output, pushing back and rescuing players in various ways, and only died once. If he didn't have such incredible abilities, Ye Bing could probably crush him in no time (theoretically, theoretically).

"If Han Cheng, you can maintain this level, I'm afraid we'll have no rivals if we participate in the school's King of Glory tournament," Ye Bing said casually, but it sounded incredibly arrogant.

"Hehe! It's nothing, I've just watched a lot of live streams these past few days and my awareness has improved a lot!" Han Cheng laughed, making up such a far-fetched excuse. Many streamers don't even know how to play as well as he does, how can they teach him a lesson?

"Really? What livestream are you watching? I want to watch too, otherwise I'll be too bad..." Xu Xiaomeng said. Actually, she wasn't that bad. The season was almost over, and Xu Xiaomeng had already reached Diamond I, just one star away from becoming a King. Among the group, besides Ye Bing, Xu Xiaomeng had the highest rank. Sun Hou and Fatty were both Diamond II, and neither of them were too bad. Only Han Cheng was currently only Platinum V (Gold IV, Platinum V, and Diamond V had already been released), making him the lowest-ranked player, but not the worst.

"Hey! You guys from Class 4 are playing King of Glory too?" A slightly disdainful voice came from behind.

"Li Bin? What do you mean by that?" Sun Wukong asked. He probably knew this Li Bin (which was a redundant statement).

"Hahaha, what else could I mean? I mean, our class also plays this game. Since you guys play it too, how about we play a few rounds?" A rather tall figure came into view; it was none other than Li Bin.

"How many rounds? Sure!" Sun Wukong answered confidently.
