Figure Skating: Waltz on Ice

Mei Jing took the camera and looked through it, discovering that he had taken many photos, most of which were of himself.

"You took so many photos! Xiao Chen, how come I don't see many of your pictures?"

Du Liangchen lowered his eyes slightly, pursed his lips, and fidgeted with his fingers as he said, "I also took pictures of myself, but I deleted a lot of them. The finished product wasn't good, and I couldn't find the angles I wanted."

After saying that, he patted Mei Jing on the shoulder and said with a smile, "Don't worry, I made you look really handsome in the picture. You won't believe me, just look."

Du Liangchen took the camera, flipped through the photos, and showed them to him: "How about it? Don't you look handsome in the photos?!"

Mei Jing smiled and looked over at him, her eyes bright and excited, with a hint of guilt: "Yes, Xiao Chen's photography skills are amazing. Can you teach me? Once I've learned, I can take pictures for you."

"Okay."

Du Liangchen taught him composition, and Mei Jing looked at his smiling eyes and felt that even his voice was very soft and pleasant.

It was almost 10 p.m., and Du Liangchen was so sleepy that he yawned.

Seeing his expression, Mei Jing said, "Are you tired? Go to sleep first. We can talk about it tomorrow."

Du Liangchen nodded: "Okay." He then climbed into his sleeping bag.

Mei Jing placed a mosquito repellent sachet by his pillow and a small knife in his sleeping bag.

Du Liangchen, puzzled, held the knife and asked, "What are you doing?"

Mei Jing took out a knife from her pocket: "It's not safe at night, and this is the middle of nowhere. I'll keep it for self-defense. I have one myself." After saying that, she crawled into the sleeping bag next to her.

Du Liangchen carefully placed the knife close to his body, suddenly feeling a great sense of security. It was his first time camping and sleeping outside, and Du Liangchen was also unsure of himself, afraid that something might happen. But he also felt that the opportunity was rare, and he might regret it if he didn't try: "It's all thanks to you, you're so thoughtful."

After lying down, Mei Jing turned to look at the person lying next to him and said in a gentle and reassuring voice, "Sleep soundly. I've put all the empty drink bottles upside down outside the tent. If anyone with ill intentions approaches, we'll know immediately."

Du Liangchen's eyes widened, looking at him with surprise and admiration: "Wow, Mei Jing, you're so smart! You even came up with such a method. Traveling with you has really broadened my horizons!!!"

"It's nothing, these are all things you have to learn during wilderness training."

Du Liangchen was fooled by him, but then he thought about it and realized that it wasn't surprising that his family had received such training.

They turned off the solar lights, stopped talking, and began to rest.

Listening to the howling wind outside, Du Liangchen thought he wouldn't be able to sleep, but he slept soundly until dawn.

I opened my eyes, still half asleep, and hadn't quite remembered where I was. It took me a few seconds to get my brain working again.

After waking up, I turned to look at my side and saw that Mei Jing was still sleeping. I glanced at the time and it was only five in the morning.

Du Liangchen decided to get up and go outside for some exercise; they did their morning exercise every day. Knowing that Mei Jing worked harder than him, he didn't have the heart to wake him.

I tiptoed out of the tent, cooked porridge in a gas canister, then warmed up by stretching my joints and running around.

When Mei Jing woke up, she found Du Liangchen had calmed down and left the tent. She noticed the porridge cooking in the pot, but Du Liangchen was nowhere to be seen. She called out loudly, "Xiao Chen? Xiao Chen—"

"Whew~ Mei Jing, I'm here."

Mei Jing looked back at the man who was standing with his hands on his hips, panting heavily, and knew that he had gone for a morning run. Only then did she feel relieved.
