Figure Skating: Waltz on Ice

Mei Jing frowned, her tone stiff, revealing her anxiety and worry: "Why didn't you call me for the morning run? It's not safe for someone to run alone in this desolate place."

Du Liangchen wasn't angry. Instead, he smiled and said, "I saw you were sleeping so soundly, so I didn't have the heart to wake you. I'll definitely be more careful next time."

She pulled him toward the tent and said softly, "I cooked some porridge and put two eggs in it. I don't know if it's cooked or not. Have you checked it?"

Seeing his expression, Mei Jing was no longer angry: "No, I was in a hurry to find you and didn't have time to look."

Du Liangchen: "Okay, I'll definitely call you next time I go for a morning run. Getting angry while traveling is a big no-no. So many people have broken up their friendships because of travel. You won't do anything, will you?"

Mei Jing reached out and gently tapped his head: "What nonsense are you talking about? We've known each other for so many years, don't we understand each other? If we were going to break up, we would have done it long ago. Let's go back and eat."

Du Liangchen was about to strike back when Mei Jing grabbed his hand, saying, "Let go, I'm taking it back."

Mei Jing raised an eyebrow: "Want to hit me? No way."

After saying that, he released him and took a step back. Du Liangchen jumped up and tucked Mei Jing's head under his arm: "Whether there's a chance or not is up to me."

She flicked his forehead, then smugly grabbed him and headed towards the tent.

Mei Jing reached out and gently touched his waist, and Du Liangchen released Mei Jing.

Du Liangchen pointed at Mei Jing and accused her with great resentment: "You actually attacked my weakness, take this!"

They bickered and teased each other until they reached the pot of porridge, at which point they stopped fighting.

Du Liangchen lifted the pot lid and glanced at it: "It's alright, it's not burnt. You can have the rest. I'm going to change my clothes."

"Go."

Mei Jing took the spoon and stir-fried two side dishes to go with the rice. When Du Liangchen came out again, it was just in time for dinner.

The two sat on simple stools. Du Liangchen stirred the porridge to cool it down faster, while Mei Jing peeled the hard-boiled eggs. After peeling one, she didn't put it in her own bowl but gave it to Du Liangchen.

Du Liangchen saw the extra egg in the bowl, smiled, and looked up at him: "Thank you."

Mei Jing smiled back and continued peeling the next egg.

Du Liangchen felt it wasn't too hot and started eating slowly.

When he saw Mei Jing peel the egg and finish it in two bites, he looked at him incredulously and asked, "Don't you feel like you're choking?"

Mei Jing shook her head, and after swallowing the egg, she said, "I'm starting to hate boiled eggs more and more."

Du Liangchen recalled their past meals together and said, "I remember you weren't unpleasant before, were you?"

Mei Jing took a sip of porridge and said, "I didn't hate it before, but when I was building muscle, the coach made me eat a dozen or twenty eggs every day. I just kept eating like that. Now I don't throw up when I see a boiled egg. It takes a lot of willpower."

"Giggle..."

Du Liangchen was lucky he didn't drink the porridge, otherwise he would have definitely sprayed it all over Mei Jing's face.

Mei Jing frowned and asked, "What are you laughing at? Didn't the coaches help you build muscle after you moved up to the next group?"

Du Liangchen's laughter stopped abruptly, like a rooster being choked.

Du Liangchen recalled the scene of him often eating bread, and the feeling of scrubbing his throat made him unable to laugh.

When Mei Jing saw his constipated expression, she couldn't help but smile, and her shoulders trembled.

Du Liangchen glared at him and downed the porridge in his bowl in one gulp.

Mei Jing, now back to normal, added a piece of food to Du Liangchen's plate: "Eat more. We'll be packing up to leave soon. How about we stay at a guesthouse next time?"

Du Liangchen nodded and said, "Okay."
