We bear people have power

Chapter 8 Buddhist Treasures

Yingcao, or Yingcao No. 2, looks exactly like Yingcao, and even their interests and tastes are almost identical.

Perhaps it's because pandas are inherently adorable, but after confirming that Guan Bo doesn't eat people, this little girl started climbing on him.

Guan Bo's enormous size also became a natural slide and playground.

Moreover, Yingcao No. 2, like Yingcao, loves to eat purple bamboo shoots. The two, one human and one demon, one big and one small, can play rock-paper-scissors for half a day over half a piece of bamboo shoot.

Guan Bo loses more often than he wins, since it's quite difficult for the panda to play scissors.

Even amidst the laughter and chatter, Guan Bo still felt out of place.

This reborn little girl is not Yingcao. Although they have many similarities, they are two completely different people.

The more familiar he became with the place, the more Guan Bo could sense the differences.

This is what the Bodhisattva meant by the knot in one's heart.

If Guan Bo can't overcome this hurdle, even if he forcibly tries to survive, he will only end up being reduced to ashes.

Therefore, Guan Bo made a decision.

"What? You want to go down the mountain? Where do you want to go?" The black bear spirit heard this and said, "I want to find Brother Monkey. In the whole world, only he dares to go to the King of Hell's palace to ask for people. I have some connections with Little White Dragon. I hope Brother Monkey can help me rescue Yingcao."

Actually, Guan Bo had one more thing to say: following Monkey King, when they encounter the Golden Carp Spirit King, Guan Bo still wants to avenge Yingcao.

This time, we can't let him be easily taken back by the Bodhisattva. Instead, we'll stew a pot of fish soup for him and let him taste what it's like to be eaten.

“Sun Wukong escorted Tang Sanzang on his journey to the Western Paradise to obtain the scriptures. They have already traveled countless miles. You don’t even know how to ride the wind, how could you possibly catch up?” the Black Bear Spirit advised.

"Don't underestimate me. After cultivating for so long, I still know how to manipulate wind." As Guan Bo spoke, a gust of demonic wind arose around him, lifting his body off the ground.

However, his body had only just begun to float when he could no longer rise, less than a foot off the ground.

"What kind of style is this? You could jump higher than this by standing still," the black bear spirit said disdainfully.

"I have to go, otherwise I won't be able to relax," Guan Bo insisted.

"Such profound and mysterious words don't sound like what you're saying," the black bear spirit said, his eyes lighting up.

“A man surnamed Wang… Don’t worry about the details, I’m definitely going down the mountain.”

"You're going to your death. This world is full of dangers. Things like Yingcao happen all the time. Who can you control? With your current cultivation level, you'll be someone else's meat on their plate before you even travel a thousand miles."

"There are countless gods and bodhisattvas in this world, isn't anyone going to do anything about it?" Guan Bo said angrily.

"Although Buddhism forbids killing, every time a mortal eats meat, a Bodhisattva will slap him. Even with a thousand hands, could they handle it all? Besides, the law of the jungle is the rule of nature. Promoting good is fine, but punishing evil must be done with extreme caution. Moreover, I find your stance quite strange. You are also a demon, so why do you always side with mortals? Mortals hunt eagles and kill fish, demons eat and kill people. All beings are equal. How can it be that only humans can kill demons, while demons cannot kill humans?"

The black bear spirit initially tried to persuade him gently, but as the conversation progressed, a contradiction became apparent. Guan Bo was a panda spirit, so why did he seem to have a stronger affinity for mortals?

This was awkward. Guan Bo couldn't very well explain that he was a time traveler, so he could only make up an excuse: "I'm a vegetarian! I just can't stand people who eat meat, is that a problem?"

The black bear spirit looked at Guan Bo with eyes full of pity for someone with intellectual disabilities, and then said, "I thought I was already obsessed with Buddhism, but I didn't expect you to be even more so. I've never seen anyone in this world forcibly forbid people from eating meat. Buddhism only restrains itself; there's no such logic in this."

"That's because you haven't seen the White Hat's absurd logic..." Guan Bo muttered under his breath.

"What did you say?"

"It's nothing, I'm determined to save Yingcao." Guan Bo said resolutely.

"So what do you plan to do with this little girl?" the Black Bear Spirit asked, pointing to Yingcao No. 2, who was asleep on Guan Bo's back.

This little girl is so carefree; the two monsters arguing for so long didn't affect her sleep quality at all.

"Of course you should take care of him, Xiong Da. This is a child bestowed by the Bodhisattva. Shouldn't you treat him like an ancestor?" Guan Bo said matter-of-factly.

"Get lost! If you're going, take this brat with you." After saying this, the black bear spirit turned and disappeared, unwilling to listen to Guan Bo's reactionary words any longer.

The Black Bear Spirit's attitude was quite clear, and Guan Bo, with a bitter face, had no other choice.

He absolutely had to save Yingcao. Regardless of whether he could succeed, Guan Bo would do his best to try.

But the Black Bear Spirit wasn't joking when he said he wouldn't care about Yingcao No. 2. On Mount Luojia, the only one who truly cared about the little girl's life or death was probably Guan Bo.

This was the first time Guan Bo had a genuine understanding of cause and effect in the mortal world.

In the end, Guan Bo decided to go down the mountain.

Carrying a little girl on his back, Guan Bo walked out of the bamboo forest, saying to Yingcao No. 2 as he walked, "From now on, I'll call you Little Grass."

This was meant to distinguish her from Yingcao, but the little girl refused, shouting, "It sounds awful! And why should I be called Xiaocao? I am Yingcao."

"You're not. You're at best a knock-off."

"You're the fake one! You're the fake bear, the fake cat! You're not as cute as a cat, not as majestic as a bear! You're a fake from head to toe!" The little girl's temper was not much different from Yingcao's; they were both so stubborn.

"I'm so stupid, I really shouldn't have taught you internet slang," Guan Bo complained helplessly.

Guan Bo tried to explain to her what it meant to be reborn from another's body and what it meant to time travel and be reborn, but the girl was adamant: I am clearly myself, why should I be someone else?

That made sense, and Guan Bo had no reply. He could only settle for second best and add the word "small" before Yingcao.

The two reached a temporary consensus on the issue of address, and Guan Bo then took Xiao Yingcao down the mountain to find the Great Sage in the west.

Just as they left the bamboo forest, a golden light streaked across the sky and landed in front of Guan Bo.

"The journey ahead is long. I bestow upon you a Buddhist treasure for your protection." Guanyin Bodhisattva's voice came from the horizon, yet it felt like a direct instruction.

Looking at the jade ring radiating a soft golden light before him, Guan Bo had no choice but to accept this favor.

The road ahead is fraught with danger. He needs to find the Great Sage and kill the carp demon, but Guan Bo hasn't even reached the stage of human form yet. "Nine deaths and one life" wouldn't even begin to describe it. Faced with the Bodhisattva's help, Guan Bo naturally wouldn't risk his life for the sake of pride.

Upon closer inspection of the jade ring shrouded in Buddhist light, one discovers that it is inlaid with golden Sanskrit characters. Although Guan Bo is usually lazy, he recognizes the contents of the inscription; it is actually a complete Diamond Sutra.

With a slight release of demonic power, the magic weapon touched the jade ring, and it transformed into a golden light that entered Guan Bo's mouth.

Guan Bo felt the jade ring quickly settle into his body, constantly emitting a warm aura that nourished his body and cleansed his marrow.

At the same time, Guan Bo instantly understood how to use this magic weapon.

The treasure bestowed by the Bodhisattva is not very lethal, but it can nurture demonic power, making it easier for Guan Bo to overcome the tribulation of transformation; it can also enhance the power of Vajra, improving Guan Bo's abilities in all aspects; at the same time, it can generate a layer of Vajra defense to resist most attacks, and finally it can be thrown out like a ring to bind the enemy.

Once caught in the trap, even the Great Sage Sun Wukong cannot easily escape.

It can be described as a superior magic weapon that combines auxiliary defense and control.

"A little girl riding on a giant, four-legged creature, throwing rings to trap people... Doesn't this combination remind me of a game that's really unfriendly to Africans?" Guan Bo muttered to himself, but his steps didn't falter as he quickly left the Luojia Mountain area.

This time, we're heading west.
