Chapter 14 Allergies Can Really Kill People

"Please, save the doctor."

He prayed that a little boy with a bruised and swollen face, about three or four years old, would appear before him, his face streaked with tears, constantly pleading and repeating the same sentence, unable to utter anything else.

Helpless, all Qi Yuan could do was pat the little boy's head and access his memories.

The boy's name is Qiyuan. He is three and a half years old and is his parents' late-life child. His parents had been married for ten years without having any children. Finally, after they were over forty, they had this precious little darling, Qiyuan, who is also a boy.

Logically, Qi Yuan's parents should have treated her like a precious jewel, but that wasn't the case. Qi Yuan was found to be allergic to peanuts when she was three years old. Even if she wasn't the child they had longed for, her parents shouldn't have forced her to eat peanuts.

Qi's parents had a different way of thinking than others. They insisted that a peanut allergy was simply due to not eating enough peanuts, and that eating more would cure the allergy. As a result, young Qi was forced to eat a lot of peanuts. After eating a large amount of peanuts for the last time, his throat swelled up, he couldn't breathe, and he was rushed to the hospital, but died despite all efforts to save him.

Instead of reflecting on their own problems, Qi's parents pushed all the blame onto the emergency room doctor, making a huge scene and demanding that the doctor pay compensation and even take their life, causing chaos and disorder.

Eating peanuts was forced upon Qi by his parents; whoever they told them to, it had nothing to do with the doctor. Having received no compensation, Qi's parents took a kitchen knife and a fruit knife from home, hid them in their clothes, sneaked into the hospital, and stabbed the doctor when no one was looking.

At that moment, the doctor was feeding his sick daughter when blood splattered onto the girl's face.

After witnessing her father die before her eyes, the little girl went mad and never spoke a word again.

As for the connection between Qiyuan and the little girl, it goes back to when they first discovered that Qiyuan was allergic to peanuts. When Qiyuan was sent to the hospital, she was fine because she had eaten a small amount of peanuts. She stayed in the hospital for three days and was then taken home by her parents.

It was during those three days that Qi Yuan and the little girl crossed paths. The two stayed in the same hospital room. Qi Yuan's parents, who were both unreliable, were not by his side. When Qi Yuan woke up, he saw a beautiful young lady who looked like a porcelain doll.

Qi Yuan woke up hungry. When she woke up and didn't find her parents, her stomach was growling. Feeling wronged and scared, she started to cry.

The little girl comforted him and played with his toys. Her father fed him, spoonful by spoonful. He loved the father and daughter very much. When his parents were away, the father and daughter were always there for him. Although it was only for three days, it left an unforgettable memory in his young heart.

Therefore, after death, Qiyuan floated in mid-air and watched as her parents killed the doctor uncle. She saw the little girl so scared that she couldn't even cry. Qiyuan was filled with boundless hatred.

He didn't understand why his biological parents would hurt such a good doctor uncle. He also didn't understand why they were only sentenced to a few years for murder, while his mother, because she was pregnant, didn't go to jail but instead made the news and became a victim's family member.

After Qi's father was released from prison, the family of three lived a carefree life, spending the money Qi's mother earned as an internet celebrity. Their youngest son was also allergic to peanuts, but they never forced him to eat peanuts again.

The little boy's prayer was utterly perplexing. Why? Why? The little boy was filled with questions, which eventually turned into a wish: he hoped that the fairy brother in front of him could save the doctor uncle. As for his parents, he wished that if possible, he could die quickly and painlessly, so that he would not be their child in his next life.

If possible, I hope the whole world will know that the person who killed him was none other than his heartless parents, so that innocent people will no longer be implicated.

He liked the young lady's smile and the doctor's gentle way of speaking to him.

After receiving the memories, the little boy left, as if he knew that the fairy brother would help him fulfill his wish. He skipped and hopped away with the ghost messenger without looking back.

"Xiaoyuan used to eat peanuts without any problems, how could she be allergic? You doctors must be trying to make more money by lying to us!" Before Qiyuan even opened her eyes, she heard her parents cursing.

This was the first time he was discovered to have an allergic reaction and taken to the hospital. Knowing his current situation, Qiyuan simply stopped opening his eyes and pretended to be unconscious, letting the doctor take him to the ward.

As the cursing and swearing gradually faded away, Qi Yuan slightly opened her eyes and saw a beautifully sculpted little girl staring at her with wide, curious eyes.

Upon seeing herself open her eyes, the little girl quickly reached for the bell, but was stopped by Qiyuan.

"You're awake. We need to call the doctor to take a look. Don't be scared, you don't need a shot." The little girl was stopped by Qi Yuan, her head full of question marks, but she still explained to Qi Yuan in her childish voice.

"No, I'm scared." Pretending to be a child, Qi Yuan said without blushing or skipping a beat, his lips trembling as if he was about to cry.

Seeing this, the little girl quickly put her hand down, gently patted Qiyuan's head twice, and said, "I won't call the doctor anymore, you, you don't cry."

Qiyuan didn't say anything, enjoying being coaxed like a baby by the children. After a while, there were sounds of things being smashed and broken outside. Qiyuan gently pushed the little girl, who was frightened by the noise and went to bed, covering her head with the blanket.

"The hospital is a scam! Who would be allergic to peanuts? If you ask me, the doctors are just trying to make more money and they're lying to us..." Qi's father's voice rang out from outside the door, and the door was pushed open the next moment.

Mr. and Mrs. Qi walked to Qi Yuan's hospital bedside. Looking at Qi Yuan with her eyes closed, Mrs. Qi asked, "Husband, should we still let Xiao Yuan stay in the hospital?" Although Mrs. Qi didn't say it, she also felt that Mr. Qi was right. The hospital was just ripping them off.

“What can we do if we don’t stay here? Go home now and prepare peanuts. When Xiaoyuan is discharged from the hospital, feed him little by little. I think he just hasn’t been eating enough peanuts!” After saying that, Mr. Qi pushed Mrs. Qi out.

"And what about you? Are you staying here with Xiaoyuan?" Qi's mother was being pushed along, but she was still thinking about Qiyuan.

"Accompany me? There are doctors and nurses at the hospital, right? I've already paid, so they have to take care of my child! Didn't the doctor say he needs to stay in the hospital for three days? We'll come pick him up in three days! If they don't take good care of Xiaoyuan by then, I'll make them pay!"

As the sound faded into the distance, Qi Yuan listened to the receding footsteps and the gradually disappearing voices in the corridor before opening his eyes again.

Three days passed in a flash. During that time, no one from the family came to visit Qiyuan even once, and the little girl's father even bought her meals. As soon as the time came, Qiyuan's parents appeared in the ward on time. Qiyuan's mother picked up Qiyuan, who was wearing a hospital gown, and was about to walk out.

"Hey? Family member, you need to change out of that hospital gown." The nurse was making her rounds when she saw Qi Yuan wearing a hospital gown, and Qi's parents were clearly about to be discharged, so she quickly stopped the three of them.

"I paid for this, why can't I take it with me!" Mother Qi muttered, her voice neither too loud nor too soft, just loud enough for everyone in the ward to hear clearly.

The nurses were speechless. The hospital gowns weren't bought; they were rented. Besides, who would need hospital gowns for no reason? They're covered in bacteria, and don't they find them unlucky? Seeing the patient's family say this, the nurses decided not to interfere further.

When they went down to pay the bill, after seeing that the deposit for the hospital gown was two hundred yuan, Qi's mother directly ripped off Qi's hospital gown in the lobby and threw it to the doctor inside.

"Two hundred yuan for a tattered piece of clothing? Here you go, give me my deposit back!"

There were many people waiting to pay, and everyone who saw Qi's mother looked on with surprise, some even starting to whisper among themselves. The doctor, however, was used to it. In his many years of practice, he had seen all sorts of people; what hadn't he seen? As long as no one was rushing at him with a knife, he would greet them with a smile.

After returning home, Qi Yuan was placed on the floor of the living room. Not long after Qi's father entered the room, a voice rang out, "Call me landlord, I won't call me..."

Qi Yuan looked at her mother busy in the kitchen, especially at the peanuts in her hand, and her eyes turned cold. No wonder the original owner was so unwilling to come back. With parents like these, it was better to die and be reborn sooner.

Qi's mother's phone was in the corner of the sofa. Qi Yuan's eyes lit up, and she toddled over to it. The phone had no password, and her chubby fingers tapped around on the screen. Soon, the living room scene appeared on the screen. She adjusted the camera and turned on Do Not Disturb mode. Qi Yuan acted as if nothing had happened and started playing with her toes in the living room.

"Honey, dinner's ready," Mother Qi called out as she brought out the last dish, heading towards the bedroom.

No one answered from the bedroom, but the sounds of "one against three," "one against five," and "hurry up, I'm getting impatient" rose and fell.

After waiting for a while and not seeing her husband come out, Qi's mother went to the bedroom and knocked on the door again. She heard her husband impatiently shout, "I know, what are you yelling for? Are you trying to call back my soul?" Only then did Qi's mother stop knocking.

A short while later, Qi's father came out looking furious, clearly having just lost a card game.

"Did you put peanuts in?"

"I've added them, I've added them. Look, peanut porridge, fried peanuts, peanut pig's trotters... every dish has peanuts in it." Mother Qi happily introduced the dishes on the table.

"Hmm, give Xiaoyuan a glass of peanut milk after dinner. I don't believe he can still have an allergic reaction if he keeps eating like this."

While the two were talking, Qi Yuan secretly slipped a childless pill into the porridge. The pill dissolved instantly in the water, leaving no trace. The original owner was dead, and he was going to die tonight too. How could these heartless parents have another child? Qi Yuan took the childless pill without any guilt.

Seeing that Mother Qi had ladled out three bowls of porridge, Father Qi, impatient, took a sip from the bowl regardless of whether it was hot or not. Mother Qi, on the other hand, scooped up a spoonful, blew on it, tasted it, and then began to feed Qi Yuan.

Qi Yuan didn't shy away and ate all the peanuts. She listened to the two of them saying that they would cook more dishes with peanuts in the future so that Qi Yuan could get rid of her allergy as soon as possible.

Halfway through the meal, Qi Yuan felt her throat swell and her breathing became labored, but she endured the discomfort and finished the meal, even drinking a whole glass of peanut milk, before finally collapsing.

The moment he fell, his soul left his body and departed from the small world.

"Xiao Yuan! Xiao Yuan! Don't scare your mother!" Qi's mother was the first to hear the noise. She shook Qi Yuan, whose face had suddenly turned blue, and kept calling out to her, which brought Qi's father over.

When Qi's father saw this, he was about to take the child to the hospital. As soon as he opened the door, he saw police officers and doctors covered in sweat.

When Qi's mother saw the doctor, it was like seeing a savior. She took two steps forward and grabbed the doctor, anxiously shouting, "Doctor, please look at my son! He suddenly collapsed! Please save him!"

Police and doctors received dozens of emergency calls and learned of Qiyuan's address from one of the callers, then rushed over with the doctor.

The doctor, held back by Qi's mother, didn't pay much attention and quickly checked on Qi Yuan, only to find that the child had stopped breathing and had no heartbeat; resuscitation was no longer necessary. The doctor sighed and shook his head at the police.

Seeing the doctor shake his head, Qi's parents immediately understood what he meant and shouted, "Impossible! My son isn't dead yet! Please save him! What kind of doctor are you? Can't you even save a person?..."

"No way, how could peanuts kill you? You're lying to me, you're all lying to me..."

The couple kept shouting, but ultimately they couldn't save their son's life. They watched as the police and doctors took away Qiyuan's body, and the couple were also taken in for questioning by the police.

Knowing that Qiyuan was allergic to peanuts, they still allowed the naive Qiyuan to eat a large amount of peanuts, leading to her death. The couple were both sentenced to prison. Because it was six months earlier than in the previous life, Qiyuan's mother was not pregnant and also went to work operating a sewing machine.

The couple's story was publicized by the media, which made many people realize that allergies can indeed be fatal. Suddenly, people would ask others if they had any allergies before inviting them to dinner, and hospitals saw a surge in people getting allergy tests.

On the same day the couple went to prison, the little girl was discharged from the hospital. She was being held by her father and had a happy smile on her face.

Years later, the two were released from prison one after the other. As soon as they returned home, their neighbors pointed and gossiped, saying, "Look, it's those two. They finally had a child, but they didn't treat him well. They insisted that allergies wouldn't kill him, and they fed him to death..."

"Oh, it's those two. They were on the news a few years ago, weren't they?"

"Yes, yes, it's those two. Even tigers don't eat their cubs, these two are truly utterly depraved."

"Oh, what a pity for Xiaoyuan. But leaving those parents might be a blessing in disguise... Thanks to them, I learned that I can be allergic to certain foods. I always thought..."

The neighbors' voices reached their ears. Because they had been bullied every day in prison, they had lost their fearless nature after their release and dared not speak. They slunk home.

Now the two are almost fifty years old. They no longer wish for a child, but they still want to have another child to support them in their old age. However, they are too old, and they have taken a pill to prevent infertility. They have been trying for so long that even their mother has gone through menopause, but there has been no good news.

Mr. Qi didn't want to be alone in his old age, so he took a mistress. Unfortunately, there was no good news for a long time. Mr. Qi blamed everything on his mistress, saying she was a barren hen. The mistress also didn't want to take care of this old codger. She didn't pay him much and made a lot of trouble, so she simply moved away.

The couple lost their drive and spent their days sighing at home. Every time they saw other people with many children and grandchildren, they couldn't help but feel regret.

In the end, the two died of old age at home, and their bodies were only discovered when they began to decompose.
