Red Dead Redemption: The Great Philanthropist of the West

Chapter 89 Sean's Highlight Moment

Horseshoe Lookout Camp.

When Arthur carried the weakened Micah back to camp, no one reacted. They greeted Arthur briefly and then went about their own business, as if Micah didn't exist. This shows how unpopular he was with the gang.

Of course, Dutch was an exception; he was very happy to see Micah return safely.

Seeing that the atmosphere in the camp was a bit dull, he decided to hold a bonfire party to celebrate. It just so happened that the gang hadn't held a party in a while, which was not good for maintaining gang cohesion.

"Everyone, please listen to me."

I'm so glad Sean and Micah are back safe and sound. I love them, and I love each and every one of you.

We succeeded because we had unwavering faith.

We have a poop, friends, a real poop.

We will leave this place, we will find our own paradise, our own heaven.

Tahiti, Fiji, Australia. A truly new world.

Not this awful place. This awful place in Europe where peasant revenge wars are taking place.

We will be free! Freedom!

Dach's voice was passionate and his speech was very engaging.

At least, besides Micah, who, despite his weakness, immediately chimed in to praise Dutch, even Lenny and Sean joined in, praising Dutch for being absolutely right.

This is also what Dutch is most satisfied with about Micah: no matter what he says, Micah will always agree with him, support him, and guide the thoughts of the group.

"Now, let's have some fun and let loose. Mr. Pearson, please help prepare the food for the party. Ms. Grimshaw, please bring out the beer and whiskey from the camp's stash so everyone can drink to their hearts' content."

Let's have a little party to celebrate Sean and Micah's return!

Come on! Let's get this party started!

As soon as Dutch finished speaking, the uncle cheered. He played the piano with Havel and started singing different dirty songs with Pearson, instantly turning the atmosphere in the camp into a joyful one.

Sean, emboldened by the alcohol, clung to Karen and followed the older man. After singing some risqué songs, Javier and the others eagerly pulled Karen into John's tent to play in the secret garden.

Just like the song by the uncle:

What is the Secret Garden?

Soft and fluffy like a cat.

Find the hole in the middle and divide it into two sides;

This is the secret garden you mentioned.

.....

Meanwhile, after Dutch and Molly finished their dance, Micah couldn't wait to approach Dutch and start tattling on Henry and Arthur.

“Dutch, Dutch, listen to me, I think there’s something wrong with that Henry. He’s on good terms with all the police in West Elizabeth.”

Remember when I was knocked unconscious and locked up in Blackwater by some unknown guy? It took me a lot of effort to find out later that he was the one who beat me up and put me in jail. And he's a close friend of Arthur. I kept quiet about it to you before for the sake of gang harmony.”

Speaking of this, Micah still felt a burning resentment. His second brother seemed to be experiencing a renewed sense of unease, because he was so useless; he hadn't been with a woman in a long time. He could only talk flirtatiously about the women in the gang, but he couldn't bring himself to do anything with them.

If he hadn't known he couldn't beat Henry and that the gang didn't like him, he would have already caused trouble for Henry.

"And this time, he arrived in Strawberry Town a long time ago, but he didn't do anything and just watched me get bullied. He even told me not to kill anyone from the Odrisco gang."

Do you know how he rescued me? He'd already colluded with the sheriff of Strawberry Town. He didn't even need to show his face; he just had his bodyguard, Li Yi, openly use the keys to let me out. He let me leave, and all the other officers just ignored it.

“Dutch, that Henry is definitely suspicious, you have to be careful of him. And Arthur, he definitely knows something but won’t tell me. Not only did he not help me, he even helped Henry knock me out and left my beloved gun in Strawberry Town. He carried me all the way back on the back of a horse. He doesn’t treat me like a gang member at all.”

"I'm not saying this to snitch on you and ruin the gang's unity. I'm telling you because I trust you and I'm thinking of you. I hope you can be careful and not let a villain ruin your plans."

Micah, acting all high and mighty, was telling his best buddy his story, completely forgetting who had gotten him out of jail.

After listening to Micah's words, Dutch didn't make any clear statement, but just silently smoked his cigar. A strange light occasionally flickered in his eyes.

“Micah, thank you for your thoughtfulness. I'll keep an eye on it. I'll check with Arthur about the situation tomorrow. But let's not say anything like that that could cause disunity anymore. Although Henry isn't a member of our gang, he's helped us many times. We were able to get through the difficulties in the Great Snow Mountain largely thanks to him.”

If he had a problem, we would all be dead by now, or at least most of us would be dead.

Dutch knew that since the Blackwater heist, his prestige within the gang had declined significantly, and his disagreements with Hosea and Arthur had widened, making them less likely to listen to him. Arthur, on the other hand, had recently learned to think for himself and wasn't as easily fooled as before.

The successful train robbery had initially boosted his prestige considerably, but the stolen bonds couldn't be sold, rendering them worthless. Not only could they not be redeemed, but they also attracted the attention and pursuit of financial giants, plunging the gang into even greater trouble.

This proved that Hosea and Arthur were right, and that his decision was wrong. This caused his prestige to plummet even further.

This is also why he's giving a speech and throwing a party today to ease the gang tensions.

He was also thinking that if the bonds really couldn't be sold, he could discuss with Henry whether he could take over. Even if Henry had a problem, he couldn't afford to offend him.

Unlike the quietness here in Micah.

Meanwhile, things were incredibly lively on the older man's side. After Sean had his fun, he returned to the family and joined everyone in singing and dancing, even teasing Molly, who was also Irish.

Perhaps because of Henry, Mary Beth didn't invite Arthur to dance with her this time, but simply watched everyone else having fun quietly from the sidelines. Arthur, meanwhile, wandered around the camp with a beer or whiskey in hand, greeting everyone he met with his characteristic "friendly" greeting.

But at certain moments, he always felt that something was missing.

It wasn't until he had drunk three bottles of beer and one bottle of whiskey, and wandered around the camp twice, that he realized someone was missing from the camp; he hadn't seen Bill since he returned.
