Red Dead Redemption: The Great Philanthropist of the West

Chapter 73 Polite Society, Valentine Style

When Henry, along with Zhang Wei, Kieran, and Dutch, began their journey to Valentine.

Robert and his group had crossed Lake Isabella, arrived at the Hound Ranch, and eliminated several returning members of the Austrian gang. They successfully retrieved the Maxim machine gun from the stables and continued their return journey.

A few days later, Henry and Dutch followed Beartooth Creek, crossed Cumberland Falls, and finally arrived at Van Bang's new camp, located on a wooded cliff south of the town of Valentine. This was the camp proposed by Hosea, who had visited it in his youth and called it Horseshoe Watch.

Looking at the lush green forests around them, and the warm environment full of life and vitality, everyone seemed very happy. The fatigue from their journey was swept away, and hope for the future arose in their hearts.

Even Hosea was no exception; after instructing everyone to keep a low profile, he went to tidy up his tent and tinker with ginseng medicine.

For some time now, they had been free from the pursuit of the Pinkerton detectives, and everyone breathed a sigh of relief, feeling that they had finally escaped this chase. They had experienced this many times before; once they could no longer find their trail, the pursuers and bounty hunters would give up the chase, and the matter would simply pass.

If things had unfolded as they always have, that would have been the likely course of events. After all, bandits were everywhere at that time, and Pinkerton's business was very busy. Even if the Blackwater heist had a significant impact, it was impossible to spend a lot of manpower and time searching for the missing bandits. They would simply increase the bounty and send a few more people to investigate once they had a lead.

What they didn't know was that the robbery of the train and the theft of Cornwall's private carriage had already made headlines in newspapers around the world. Their robbery had also made Cornwall feel ashamed, and he had reached a preliminary cooperation agreement with Pinkerton, providing an initial fund of $20,000 to entrust Pinkerton with the task of tracking down and capturing the robbers who robbed the train.

One week after arriving at the camp, Henry enjoyed a beautiful sunrise from the cliffs of Horseshoe Lookout before planning to go to Valentine with Arthur and Uncle.

Of course, Arthur and the others went to purchase supplies. Henry, on the other hand, planned to stay in the town and experience the charm of this livestock town firsthand. The days of travel had left him covered in dust, which he, accustomed to frequent washing, could no longer tolerate.

As Arthur kicked the hungover uncle awake and prepared to leave, the three sisters from the Fan gang also came over, saying that they also wanted to go to Valentine to take a look, get to know the nearby towns, and perhaps even gather some intelligence for the gang and create revenue opportunities. Anyway, they had nothing to do right now and were extremely bored.

Arthur didn't refuse and set off with the girls. Along the way, the three sisters, at the uncle's urging, sang classic, explicit erotic songs. Karen sang the most unrestrainedly, occasionally throwing flirtatious glances at Henry, who was riding a snowman beside her. Combined with her ample bosom, it certainly had a unique charm.

Perhaps because Henry was nearby, Mary Beth's voice was much softer, and she wasn't as unrestrained as in the original story. She blushed shyly and hummed along with Karen.

Horseshoe Lookout wasn't far from the town of Valentine, and soon the group arrived at the town center before splitting up to take care of their own business.

Arthur and the uncle went to the general store to buy gang supplies, while Karen, Tilly, and Mary Beth went off to gather intelligence.

Henry instructed Zhang Wei to take Kieran to a tailor shop to buy two clean sets of clothes, then to a barber shop to groom him, and finally to meet him at the Saints Hotel. He would be waiting for them there.

After Zhang Wei and the others left, Henry went alone to the most luxurious hotel in Valentine and booked three rooms. He soaked comfortably in a hot bath, enjoying the caresses of a beautiful woman's slender fingers on his strong body while slowly sipping fine red wine.

Compared to the exhaustion and hard work of the past few days, and the harsh conditions of sleeping outdoors at Horseshoe Lookout, this is what life is all about.

Ignoring the blatant provocations and innuendos of the scantily clad bathhouse attendant, Henry inquired about Valentine's situation with her.

With Henry's one-dollar tip, Melis showed great enthusiasm, taking the initiative to introduce Henry to the general situation of the town, as well as various useful information and interesting things she had heard.

Valentine is the largest livestock town in New Hanover, with a population of nearly 1. It has a full range of facilities, including many bars and hotels, as well as entertainment facilities such as theater performances that are usually only found in big cities.

Valentine is located near snow-capped mountains and has a vast plain with a beautiful environment. The average annual temperature is around 10 degrees Celsius. The residents are mainly engaged in animal husbandry. The area under its jurisdiction is very large and has several large ranches, including the most famous Emerald Ranch.

In addition, Melis also told Henry about the recent rumors circulating about the murderer, the clinic doctor and the deputy sheriff's alleged shady dealings, and the possibility that Sheriff Malloy might have a secret lover. Of course, she stated that the latter two were just hearsay and she wouldn't take responsibility for them.

When Henry finished his bath and changed into a brand new set of casual clothes: an exquisitely tailored shirt and trousers, paired with a gorgeous vest, and an expensive pocket watch and gloves, dressed like a young nobleman, Zhang Wei and Kieran were already waiting for him respectfully in the hall.

At this moment, Kieran seemed to have been reborn. His originally messy long hair was trimmed into a clean and neat short haircut, and his full beard had disappeared without a trace. Coupled with his brand-new clothes, he looked like a spirited young man, and his handsomeness was almost on par with Henry. (See Kieran's prototype picture).

"I didn't realize you two looked so handsome dressed up. Come with me, I've booked a room for you. After you put your things in the room, go take a hot bath to wash away the bad luck from before and start a new life."

Henry patted the two on the shoulder and praised them. There was just a small mishap on the way to their room to put their luggage away.

As he passed a room, he heard Karen's cries coming from inside. Knowing what was about to happen, Henry didn't hesitate and kicked the door open. He saw Karen being pinned to the ground by a burly man, his right hand raised high, seemingly preparing to slap Karen in the face. However, he was startled by the violently opened door and froze in mid-air.

"Who are you? What do you want? This is my room. Please leave, or I'll call for help," the man shouted, his voice trembling with fear. He had originally intended to tell them to get out, but seeing that Henry and his group outnumbered him, his tone softened considerably.

Seeing Henry's actions, Zhang Wei didn't waste any words and kicked the man away, taking him into custody.

"Boss, what should we do?"

The man hadn't expected Henry and his group to be so strong. Before he could react, he was taken down. He also realized that this young master from a wealthy family knew the woman next to him, and hurriedly cried out in terror, "Misunderstanding, misunderstanding, sir, I paid for it. We were just having a normal transaction."

Henry ignored him and turned to Karen, saying, "Karen, are you alright? What do you want to do with this guy?"

"I'm fine, Henry, thank you." She walked directly to the man's side, lifted her long leg, and delivered a hard blow to his groin. Henry, who was nearby, even heard the sound of his testicles cracking. His groin instinctively tightened, and he took a step back. The man was left clutching his groin, curled up on the ground, groaning in pain.
