“Oh, Henry, I really suspect you’ve been following me.” As they approached, they recognized each other’s faces. Arthur happily came over and gave Henry a hug.

"So, Arthur, your gang is already around here, is that right?" Henry said, looking at the travel-worn Arthur.

Arthur then took out some oat cakes from his worn-out backpack and fed them to the equally exhausted Boadicia before replying:

"Yes, Henry, I came out to scout ahead for the gang. We need to find shelter as soon as possible. The sudden snowstorm has hindered Pinkerton's pursuit of us, but it has also put us in a difficult situation due to our lack of preparation."

We lack warm clothing, blankets, and most importantly, food. This is pushing many in the gang to the brink of collapse, and many others are injured and need rest.” Arthur paused, then, for the sake of the gang's survival, reluctantly continued:

"Henry, I know it's probably not appropriate to say this, but you've already helped us so much. I still want to ask for your help so we can get through this difficult time. We'll find a way to repay you in the future."

“Arthur, you’re a friend I acknowledge, so of course I’ll help you. Here’s what we’ll do: go back and lead your gang, then follow this stream straight ahead. In about two hours, you’ll see an abandoned mining town, and that’s where our temporary camp will be. We’ll have prepared the ingredients, started a fire, and cooked some broth for you.” Henry pointed to the white-tailed deer and elk on horseback, assuring Arthur that he would be alright.

Upon hearing this, Arthur finally broke into a rare smile on his snow-covered face, and rode Boadesia into the vast snowstorm.

Henry and Sadie returned to Plowstone Village with their game. Soon after, Lee Yi and Tom Smith also returned, but their haul was not as plentiful as Henry's; their four horses brought back only two white-tailed deer and a few thin hares.

As everyone prepared to start a fire and cook, Henry informed them of the upcoming events at the Van Bang restaurant and outlined the plans for after the snowstorm subsided.

First, regarding the armed special forces team, after the snowstorm subsided, Robert led the team and Wang Zhiqiang back to Blackwater Town. He instructed them that if Colm wasn't there and a large number of O'Brien gang members hadn't yet appeared at the Hound Ranch, they should dismantle the Maxim machine gun located on the stable and bring it back to Quaker Bay Manor. However, if Colm returned with his men, they should let them go for now and deal with them later.

Li Yi, along with Sadie and Yak, went to Emerald Ranch to help escort the Adlers and handle the farm acquisition. Once Robert returned to Blackwater, Paul and Ashley would hand over their work to their deputies and bring people over to take over. They would also take the opportunity to expand their business in New Hanover.

Once they take over, Li Yi can come to Valentine and join him. During this time, he plans to observe and experience the Western cowboy lifestyle alongside Arthur. Having been in this world for so long, he has laid a solid foundation and should relax and enjoy life.

However, everyone expressed concern about Henry acting alone. At their insistence, Zhang Wei would accompany Henry while Li Yi was not by his side to protect him, and Zhang Wei would return to Blackwater Town after Li Yi's return. Henry could not persuade them otherwise, so he agreed.

After everyone had discussed their plans for the future, they were having dinner.

Rewind a little, and Arthur finally encountered the gang on his way back.

"Arthur! What did you find?" Dutch asked expectantly the moment he saw Arthur. The situation in the gang was really bad. Apart from Arthur and Micah, the other fighters had been chased by Pinkerton detectives while Arthur was away, and most of them had been injured to varying degrees. What remained were women, the elderly, and children who had little fighting ability.

We are still in the midst of a harsh winter with little food and clothing, and the gang is at a critical juncture. If Arthur cannot bring good news, the gang may be wiped out in this white expanse at any time.

“I met Henry, who was willing to lend us a hand. He told me that if we followed the stream, there would be an abandoned mining town not far away, where he would be waiting for us with a fire and hot soup.” Arthur gave everyone good news, and hearing Arthur’s words, the group felt a surge of energy and drove the carriage even harder.

“Arthur, is this Henry you’re talking about reliable? You know, our heads are worth a lot of money these days, and many people are eyeing us.” Dutch had doubts about the situation of Henry that Arthur described.

In this turbulent Western world, their lives were constantly at risk, so Dutch had to be cautious about any sudden stroke of good fortune. He knew that trust was a precious quality, but in this dangerous and deceitful environment, excessive trust could lead to ruin. Therefore, his suspicions stemmed not from distrust of Arthur, but from concerns for his own safety. This was a lesson learned from his years of experience navigating the West.

Before Arthur could answer, Hosea spoke first.

“Dutch, we have no other choice now, do we? If we don’t find a place to stop, most of us will die. And I heard Arthur mention Henry; he warned us before that the money ship in Blackwater was dangerous and advised us to be careful. But we didn’t listen to his advice and rushed headlong into this damned trap…”

In short, I personally think he's trustworthy. Besides, I've heard he has a large business empire in Blackwater; he has no reason to harass us down-on-our-luck cowboys, and we have no other choice.”

Upon hearing Hosea bring up the Blackwater heist again, Dutch's face visibly darkened, though no one noticed in the snowstorm. Before Dutch could speak again, Arthur added:

“I also trust Henry. We have had several pleasant collaborations, and he has helped me many times. He is my friend. I was able to escape Pinkerton’s pursuit and return safely a few days ago with Henry’s help.”

“Okay, since you all trust him, he seems like a good guy. everybody, let’s speed things up and get there as soon as possible to enjoy some warm accommodations.” Since the second and third leaders of the gang had made their decision, and the gang’s current situation was indeed difficult, Dutch knew that being cautious at this point was pointless, so he could only go along with everyone’s request.
