Chapter 91 (Empty Scattered) Encounter Again
"That wretched Buyer, he's always causing me trouble."
A boy wearing a large hat walked sullenly along the forest path, muttering complaints. Beside him, Lanalo held a wooden stick, looking somewhat dazed; though his voice was soft, the words he spoke were anything but.
“Nara, you mustn’t be disrespectful to the Grass God.” Lanaruo tapped the wooden stick in his hand, then continued, “Lanbalija will teach the disobedient Nara a lesson.”
"Huh? You want to fight me? I don't want to bully the little thing."
During his time in Sumeru, the wanderer had seen many Lanaro, most of whom looked quite frail. These Lanaro liked to stick close to him, and although the wanderer outwardly complained, he actually quite liked these little sprites. After all, their hearts were pure, as harmless as little magpies.
Lanbailijia heard the wanderer's voice, and her beady eyes narrowed. Then, she gently raised the wooden stick in her hand and pointed it at a stone by the roadside. The once solid stone shattered instantly.
The vagrant was startled by the commotion. Turning around, he saw that it was Lanaro who had made the noise. Shock crossed the vagrant's face; he turned away, adjusted his hat, and said nothing more.
Although he didn't know why this Lanaro was so powerful, the wanderer didn't want to fight it before completing his mission. The boy and the Lanaro fell into a temporary silence as they continued walking.
After walking for a while, the wanderer heard Lanbailijia's words, "Nala, Lanbailijia sensed the black hole that the Grass God mentioned."
The wanderer stopped. "Which direction? And why call me such a stupid name?" The wanderer looked at Lanbailijia with his blue-purple eyes, a little impatient, but he managed to control his emotions.
Lanbailika's diamond-shaped eyes were very sharp. After hearing the wanderer's words, she said, "Nara-mao, follow Lanbailika." With that, Lanbailika quickly moved in front of the wanderer and walked forward.
"Damn it, don't pretend you didn't hear the second half of what I said! You clearly heard it." The wanderer was a little annoyed, but he quickened his pace to keep up with Lan Bailijia.
Lanbaili was incredibly fast, with the Wanderer close behind. They soon found something resembling a black hole. If the Traveler were here, he would immediately recognize it as the object her brother had used for teleportation. However, even without the Traveler, the Wanderer could tell it was used for teleportation.
"This is what Nasita told us to come and check, isn't it?"
Upon seeing the black hole, the wanderer instinctively spoke to Lanbailijia, then realized he had called out to Naxida, and blushed slightly as he pulled down his hat.
At first, the wanderer would call her Little Lucky Grass King, or Buyer, but would never call her by her real name. The name Nasita came about because the traveler came to Sumeru every day to do quests, and sometimes the wanderer would help her. Naturally, the wanderer was introduced to the name by the traveler.
When Nasita first instinctively called out the name, she was a little surprised. A smile immediately appeared on her face, making the homeless man feel embarrassed, and he eventually ran away.
The wanderer recalled these past events and pulled down his hat to conceal his expression. Lanbailijia glanced at him upon hearing his words. Then, resolutely, she approached the black hole, seemingly wanting to enter.
The wanderer quickly reached out to stop the Lannarau, but Lannarau was very strong, and the wanderer almost couldn't stop it.
"What are you going to do? Do you even know what that is before you come over?"
The wanderer had no choice but to lift Lanbailijia up with both hands. Lanbailijia didn't struggle, letting the wanderer lift it up like a kitten. Its small, diamond-shaped eyes looked at the wanderer, who somehow saw disdain for him in the creature's face.
"Lanbailijia is very powerful and was able to complete the task assigned by the Grass God."
Lanbailijia's tone was indifferent, only her small eyes were fixed on the wanderer, as if wondering why Nala wouldn't let her in. The two looked at each other, and there was a pause for a few seconds.
Lanbailijia suddenly felt like it understood something. It patted the wanderer's raised hand, not very hard.
"Nara-mao, don't be afraid, Lanbailijia will protect you. Nara-mao can stay here."
One sentence made the homeless man lose his mind instantly. As he entered the black hole, he was still expressionless, blaming himself in his heart for arguing with this guy.
Upon entering the black hole, their bodies felt as if they were spun several times, causing a moment of disorientation. The Wanderer, prepared, immediately grabbed Lanbailijia beside him. Once their bodies stabilized, looking at the dim surroundings, the Wanderer realized they had entered the abyss.
Lanbailijia, who was beside the wanderer, was still a little dizzy, her eyes darting around. The wanderer looked at the somewhat familiar surroundings and felt a bit down.
Back when he was an executor of the Fools, he had descended into the abyss many times. Now, he only hoped not to see that wretched blond guy again. After thinking it over carefully, the wanderer relaxed; that guy probably didn't remember him.
Lanbailijia regained consciousness and looked around at the unfamiliar scene with some confusion. Then she asked the wanderer, "Does Nara-mao know where this place is?"
The wanderer put down the Lanbailika he was holding and told it, "Unfortunately, the black hole we just saw connects to the abyss. We might have some trouble getting back to Sumeru."
Immediately, Lanbailijia and the Wanderer went on alert. If there's anything abundant in the Abyss besides darkness, it's these mindless monsters. At the first sign of fresh air, these monsters would excitedly rush forward to tear at anything. The countless pairs of eyes that lit up around them were the most obvious result.
Fortunately, Lanberika was a very skilled Lanarau, capable of defeating a monster with a single blow, and she also coordinated well with the Wanderer. They fought among the monsters for a while, leaving monster remains scattered all around.
Seeing that the number of monsters was increasing, the wanderer realized he couldn't linger any longer. Seizing an opportunity, he grabbed Lan Bailijia and dashed out. The sudden burst of speed made Lan Bailijia's chubby cheeks jiggle, and her bewildered little expression was incredibly cute.
The monsters couldn't keep up with them, and the Wanderer, with Lan Bailijia in tow, hid in a corner—a strategy he'd learned from his many previous explorations of the Abyss. Relieved, the Wanderer wanted to say something to Lan Bailijia. But when he looked up, he saw a figure standing not far away, a figure with a half-smile.
The wanderer's expression instantly fell when he saw the person. His eyes darted around, and thinking that the person probably didn't recognize him, he led Lan Bailijia over.
