Chapter 75 (Sati) Whose dog raises a kitten by itself? (Part 1)

These chapters are all told from "my" perspective. The "my" perspective is presented arbitrarily; it's essentially a product of my previous madness while listening to the Song of Tinari. Read with caution, everyone.

I have a very handsome big dog. Like all Samoyeds, its white fur is fluffy and soft, making it irresistible. You know, the biggest reason I got it in the first place was because of its soft white fur.

Of course, it also differs from a normal Samoyed in one way. Its eyes are deep black with a hint of red. When I first brought it home, its eyes worried me for a long time.

I first found it on a road in the suburbs. Its fur was disheveled and covered with leaves. It was tiny; it probably rolled to the side of the road before I spotted it.

My heart softened, and thinking it was fate, I brought it home. When I was naming it, I impulsively named it Sino. Hmm, it's strange, as if I knew it was meant to be that name.

After giving it a bath, I realized it was a little puppy that looked a lot like a Samoyed. It was perfect in every way, except for its strange eyes.

I took him to so many veterinary clinics, and after the examinations, they all basically said: it might have some impact on his eyesight, but nothing too serious. Compared to daytime, your dog might not see as well at night. It's not too bad news. After all, he's such a handsome big dog; how could I take care of him if he had serious eye problems!

With all the problems resolved, our daily lives resumed.

Little Saino is very healthy and eats very diligently. How diligently? Specifically, he finishes all his food, not a single grain left. That's right, not dog food, but rice. Does anyone understand?! This dog doesn't eat dog food!

If I fed it dog food, it would either go on a hunger strike or threaten to destroy the house. I was scared, and after a few of its antics, I gave in. Now I have to cook for it every time. To prevent it from shedding too much, I have to carefully control what it eats. It's harder than cooking for myself!

Sino grew so fast; in about a month, he went from a little puppy to a big dog. Looking at him, I have to praise myself. I'm such a genius at raising dogs!

Sino is quite a strange dog. From what I've observed, this dog loves corny jokes. I discovered this quite by accident. When I watch variety shows, Sino is usually indifferent; it will just sit to one side, eyes closed, seemingly resting. But once, while watching a variety show, a guest told a really corny joke, and it was like a chilling wind swept through the room—I shivered. Turning my head, I saw Sino coming over with great interest, almost excitedly.

Based on this, I conducted an experiment. The usually aloof Seno changed completely when I showed it a corny joke—it became excited. In this situation, Seno finally showed signs of being one of the "three silly sled dogs."

In addition, Sino really enjoys going for a walk at the same time every day. I live in the suburbs, where there are fewer people and less trouble. Sino also makes me feel very at ease. After showing him the way a few times, he can go out for a walk on his own and then come home very well. He's excellent!

That day, as usual, I left the door open for Seno. Who knew it would come back carrying a tiny black kitten!

God knows how excited I was when I saw the kitten. It's a cat! It's a cat! Am I finally going to have a kitten?! No, no, after the initial excitement, I thought about it carefully—what if it brought someone else's cat home?!

I rushed forward and scooped the kitten out of Seno's mouth. Upon closer inspection, it was still a tiny kitten, probably covered in too much dust, all black except for its bright green eyes. It looked very weak, and when I held it in my hands, it could only meow weakly.

Seeing the weak kitten, I immediately took Seno and the kitten to the vet. On the way, Seno kept trying to hold the kitten. Every now and then, he would rub his nose against it. If I hadn't stopped Seno from licking it, the kitten would probably have been soaking wet.

Upon arriving at the vet, Seno stayed close by the kitten's side while the vet cared for it. When the vet took out the syringe, it bared its teeth at him, probably knowing the vet was going to help the kitten. After I slapped it, it became much more obedient, though it still watched with a hint of unease.

I was almost laughing in exasperation. "Anyone who didn't know better would think that's your wife." Looking at Sino, it was as if his wife was undergoing surgery and he was anxiously waiting outside. Sino, whether it understood or it was just a coincidence, glanced at me, then quieted down as if a little shy. But after a while, it went back to staring at the kitten.

The kitten was lucky; according to the vet, it was probably very young, likely born to a stray cat. There's nothing seriously wrong, just a little weak, and it needs to be brought in for its vaccinations soon. The vet also told me many things to keep in mind when caring for kittens.

I listened carefully to the doctor's instructions, nodding and agreeing. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw the little cat, having rested a bit and regained its strength, taking advantage of our inattention and wobbling towards Seno. Before it even took two steps, Seno, the dog, rushed to meet it.

Wow, it's a two-way trip!

But I'm even more excited than my dog right now, and I even want to praise him. From today onwards, I have both a cat and a dog! Hahaha, I'm a true winner in life. I've decided to reward Seno with a delicious fruit platter when I get home.

Bringing my two newborn babies home, a new problem arises: what should I name the kittens?

I racked my brains but couldn't come up with a solution. In desperation, I decided to feed them both first; the big dog was one thing, but the kittens still needed milk.

I prepared the animal milk powder I bought and put it in a small bottle. The kitten's dinner was ready, and as for the big dog, I'll just make him a meal that I don't think tastes good to humans.

Carrying the baby bottle, I walked over to them. The kitten wasn't afraid of Seno at all; the two little animals snuggled together, it was so cute. The black ball of fur was very conspicuous nestled in Seno's arms. I told Seno, "It's time to eat." Then I reached out to take the kitten. Seno was familiar with me and didn't resist, just watching my hand reach for the kitten.

The awkward thing was, I stopped when I reached for Seno's belly. I've never owned a kitten before; it's so small and soft, how am I supposed to lift it out?!

Sino probably noticed my pause. She glanced at me with her beautiful big eyes, then gently lifted the kitten up by its back along its neck with her mouth. The kitten was so small that she carried most of its body in her mouth. Then, a kitten with wide, bewildered eyes was placed in my hand.

I was a little stunned, but the kitten meowed and brought its nose close to my palm, sniffing it cautiously, as if it was getting used to my scent. My heart pounded; it was so cute! Before feeding it, I carefully wiped the kitten's fur with a towel. To my surprise, the towel was very clean, and its fur wasn't just black; it also had a hint of dark green.

What should I name it? I thought about it carefully while feeding it, watching it hug the bottle and eat so cutely. I suddenly remembered how helpless I was when I was carrying the kitten earlier, not knowing where to lift it.

Hmm, let's talk about where. A sudden inspiration struck me, so I named it "Ti Na Li" (提哪儿). But it felt a bit odd, so I finally decided to call it "Tinari" (津纳里).

I looked down at the kitten drinking milk on my lap. "Tinari, your name is Tinari. We're going to live together starting today."
