Chapter 76 (Sati) Whose dog raises a kitten by itself? (Part 2)
Seno was probably worried about the weak kitten, so he ate very quickly today. While little Tinari was still trying to nurse, Seno ran over to check on him.
I stroked the little black cat on my lap, glancing at my big dog with a hint of amusement. "Don't rush, don't rush, your little wife will be back to you after dinner," Seno called out to me, as if in response. His reddish eyes became even more focused, watching the kitten on my lap with eager anticipation, as if he wanted to snatch it into his arms.
I watched as Tina's belly gradually swelled up, then reached out and touched it. It was truly a kitten; its belly was so soft! I couldn't help but chuckle. Then, I noticed Seno's somewhat disdainful look. Heaven knows how a dog could show such contempt. Damn it, if I don't give you the kitten, you're not getting to touch it.
But the reality was that I couldn't take it from it at all. Seeing that the little kitten wasn't eating anymore, the dog quickly snatched it from my lap, being very careful not to hurt it. Its movements were swift and agile; everyone who saw it would praise it, saying, "What a good dog!"
I put the bottle aside and tried to catch up with the cunning big dog, calling for Seno as I went. But it simply carried the kitten back to its little den, ignoring my calls. Seno tucked the little kitten, Tinari, into its belly; the white fur obscured the black kitten, leaving only a pink little nose visible. Hidden within were faintly visible emerald eyes, their misty appearance heartbreaking.
Perhaps because it was Seno who rescued it, it didn't resist; instead, it became very attached to Seno. It quietly nestled in its arms, meowing occasionally, and Seno seemed to love it dearly, gently responding to it.
Tiny suddenly extended a tiny, dark paw, its paw pads a soft pink—it was incredibly cute. Seno lowered his head, and Tiny's little paw gently rested on Seno's cheek. The contrast of black and white left me speechless. There was an inexplicable sense of perfect match. If it weren't for the difference in species, I would have agreed to this marriage. Although, whether I agreed or not wouldn't really matter.
It took me a while to come to my senses. Oh no, I haven't finished the work the boss assigned today! I've been so focused on them! Hurry, hurry! Time waits for no one! I gave them one last quick look and told Seno, "Take good care of your little darling! Your human has to go finish the rest of the work."
"Wang."
Sino responded loudly, making me stumble. I couldn't help but turn my head and glance at the two of them again.
Sure enough, the silly dog scared the kitten in his arms. Tinari seemed to be startled, and Seno also noticed that he had frightened the kitten in his arms, looking at Tinari helplessly.
The kitten meowed sweetly and patted his nose with its still-growing little paw. Seno had no choice but to lower his head and gently tap Tina's little belly with the tip of his nose, coaxing it softly.
Damn, it feels like a clumsy, big dog with a cute, feline wife. Turns out I'm the only single person in this house. But, I didn't have time to observe more closely as I was leaving in a hurry.
By the time I finished my remaining work, it was already evening. Feeling groggy, I heated up a glass of milk and headed to my room to watch TV and go to sleep. Suddenly, a thought popped into my head: what if the new kitten wasn't used to it? A little worried, I decided to go check on them.
Sino usually doesn't like sleeping in my room; its daily routine is quite stable. It gets up at six in the morning, goes out for a walk, and then comes back for breakfast. It rests at noon, then watches TV variety shows and movies—of course, corny jokes are its favorite. It goes out for a walk in the evening, then comes back for dinner. It also goes to bed early, around eleven o'clock at night.
I don't know why, but Seno has never liked coming into my room, let alone sleeping with me. I quickly accepted Seno's different characteristics from other dogs and arranged a new room for him next door.
I went into the room next door and quietly turned the side door open. I had only opened it a crack and hadn't even entered the room when Seno looked up.
My dog is always very sensitive. He sleeps on time like a retired official, but he can detect the slightest noise. That's why I feel very safe living alone. Sometimes I think to myself, if Seno were a person, he would definitely be a very capable police officer who could catch criminals.
Sino looked up and stared, showing little reaction, but it didn't lower its head either. After all, it was evening, and its eyesight was starting to fail. I gently opened the door and approached its little bed. Sino's lips seemed to be about to twitch, but after taking a few more steps, it smelled my scent and its lips finally relaxed.
Hmph, it wasn't a waste of money raising them.
Seno lowered its guard and its large, furry head. The room was dark; I was afraid a sudden light would stress the kitten. So, there were no bright lights in the room, only the soft moonlight shining through the window onto the floor.
Some moonlight, like silken threads, shone on Seno, turning its fur silvery and shimmering. I've always admired Seno's beauty; normally, I'd take countless photos of it. Unfortunately, I'm here to check on the kittens.
Following my initial principle, I moved closer to get a better look at the kitten. Seno trusted me, moving his head and upper limbs away, revealing the little black kitten fast asleep. If it hadn't been lying on Seno's stomach, I wouldn't have been able to find it in the pitch black night, even with moonlight. This room absolutely needs a white mat, and its little bed must be white too; I don't want to search everywhere and never find the cat!
Somewhat surprisingly, the kitten is in good condition, showing no signs of stress or discomfort. It seems Seno has taken good care of little Tinari; it's surprising to see this talent in it.
After observing it carefully, I patted Seno's big head. I hadn't had a chance to get this close to it this afternoon because of the rush. It was also very well-behaved, letting me pet it without moving. Tinari was sleeping soundly, probably exhausted from the day's running around. Seno and I didn't disturb it. Its little nose twitched in its sleep.
I got up and quietly left, half-closing the door so they could come out at any time. I've always considered Seno family, and I believe it feels the same way about me. So as long as they're home, they're free. Today, my family has grown again; that's wonderful.
In the living room, I glanced at the bright moon outside the window. It was like a large jade plate, so big and bright. What a beautiful day! It was time for me to rest. A perfect day had come to an end. Tomorrow, I would still be a radiant person.
Goodnight, my little darlings.
