Chapter 5 (Sati) I want you to give me a kiss 2

"why you!"

White hair, dark skin, and a hat resembling a jackal's. Even Tina, who doesn't pay attention to gossip, knows this man—the Grand Disciplinary Officer who is currently feared by many scholars. Although he has only recently taken office, he is extremely experienced in his work, leaving no room for criticism. No one who has been entangled with him has ever escaped unscathed.

A headache was starting to ache; trouble was brewing. Holding his forehead, Tinari racked his brains, trying to recall what he had done recently to attract the attention of this high-ranking disciplinary officer. He pondered, but still couldn't figure out what he had done wrong.

As the silence between the two grew longer, it was the usually composed Seno who was the first to lose his composure. He spoke up amidst Tinari's silent contemplation.

"I'm sorry, I... I shouldn't have followed you." Seno finally blurted out, his face flushed. The silence that had followed made Tinari think he was about to say something. But instead, the man spoke up, apologizing to him. It was nothing like the rumors he'd heard.

I think he's kind of cute.

After much deliberation, Tinari still couldn't believe he had done anything wrong to warrant arrest. Intrigued, he looked at the white-haired boy with amusement, feeling an unprecedented sense of curiosity.

"Then why are you following me? Have I done something wrong?" Tinari squinted at Seno, a slight smile playing on his lips, eagerly awaiting his answer.

“It has nothing to do with discipline.” Seno paused, then, as if making a great decision, asked, “May I know your name?”

Tinari was somewhat surprised. If it wasn't a matter of discipline, then why had he been following him for so many days? And if he had been following him for several days, how could he not know his name? That was strange. But seeing the expectation in the man's eyes, Tinari still responded to him.

"My name is Tinari."

"I...I'm Seno, it's a pleasure to meet you!" Seno was visibly excited, his joy barely contained. Although he didn't quite understand what Seno was so happy about, Tinari didn't want to ask any further. He only noticed the sparkling eyes of the person before him. Red eyes with a hint of orange, like the setting sun. Those eyes were deeply imprinted on his heart, making him feel a warmth spread through him.

It wasn't until many years later that Tinari realized that perhaps that was what love was.

"The weather is lovely today. I know a scenic spot; would you like to go for a sit?" With a gentle breeze blowing, Tinari extended an invitation to Seno.

A moment later, Tina heard a response.

"it is good."

From then on, the two gradually became familiar with each other. Tinari also discovered that Seno's true personality was different from the rumors. He still couldn't figure out why Seno had followed him for a few days in the first place. Every time he asked about this, Seno would blush and stammer, unable to say anything. Tinari slowly lost interest in the matter.

By this time, Tinari had become the ranger of Doomsday Forest. His long companionship had instilled in him many habits related to Seno. He was used to Seno's occasional, albeit lame, jokes, his passion for cards, and the date and honey candy Seno always brought him. The ranger's job was demanding, but Seno would always message Tinari before returning, and Tinari would prepare his favorite food to welcome him and a room for him.

Tinari never felt there was anything wrong with these habits.

"Huh? When I first met Sino..."

Faced with Cole's question, Tinari stroked his chin and thought for a moment, "It was that time when he followed me for several days for some reason." Thinking of this, Tinari wanted to laugh a little, "His tracking skills are quite good, I didn't even notice at first."

Seeing the puzzled look in Cole's eyes, Tinari was about to explain when he heard Seno's footsteps enter the room. Cole also saw the newcomer and jumped. After nervously greeting him, she made an excuse and left. Tinari looked at Seno speechlessly, "Cole is always a little afraid of you, and you always have such a stern face."

Seno said nothing, taking off his cloak and hanging it aside. Then, as if changing the subject, he said, "I first saw you in the Zen Garden." Tinari was intrigued by his words. "I don't remember that."

Sino smiled. "You didn't notice me back then, and I didn't bother you either."

Tinari lost interest after hearing this. Instead, she started talking about other things, from her recent work to Cole's academic progress, telling Seno about all sorts of things in her life, big and small, and occasionally asking Seno about his life. Although she had already mentioned some of these things in her letters, there were still many small things she wanted to share with him.

Sino listened intently, his eyes as gentle as a warm, lingering spring, reflecting the image of the little fox before him.
