After arranging his work and handing it over to Xiao Zhao, Lin Lubai went to the market to buy some groceries before driving straight to Yi's house.

When I entered, Xiang Yi and Xiao Qing were chatting on the sofa.

Lin Lubai greeted them and then went to the kitchen to get busy.

The two best friends chatted casually, with Xiao Qing doing most of the talking while Xiang Yi remained silent.

Two hours later, Lin Lubai had prepared dinner and invited Xiao Qing and Xiang Yi to come and eat.

Dinner was rather light, consisting of four dishes and a soup. None of us had been eating properly for the past few days, but we didn't eat much either.

At the dinner table, Lin Lubai tried hard to come up with jokes to cheer Xiang Yiyi up, and Xiao Qing cooperated with him. However, Xiang Yiyi kept her eyebrows down, and even when the jokes were particularly funny, she only twitched the corners of her mouth.

Xiang Yi drank a bowl of soup and ate a small half bowl of rice.

After dinner, Xiao Qing and Xiang Yi went to relax on the sofa, while Lin Lubai volunteered to wash the dishes and pots.

"Xiao Qing, you go back first. I'll stay with Yi Yi and won't disturb her." Lin Lubai told Xiao Qing to leave first.

"Then I'll head back first," Xiao Qing said to Xiang Yi.

"Yes, thank you, Xiao Qing," Xiang Yi said.

"Why are you still telling me all this? I'm leaving." Xiao Qing turned to look at Lin Lubai again.

“Take good care of my Yi Yi, or I’ll be the first to make you regret it!” Xiao Qing said to Lin Lubai without any politeness.

"Also, her fetal heartbeat is unstable, so don't bully her."

"Okay, thank you for your help these past few days. Did you drive? Do you want me to call you a car?" Lin Lubai didn't hold it against Xiao Qing.

"No need, I'll drive myself. I'm leaving, Yi Yi." Xiao Qing turned her head again to say goodbye to Xiang Yi.

Xiang Yi didn't speak, but nodded slightly.

“We won’t talk about anything today. You can tell me what you want to say, and I’ll listen. If you don’t want to talk, I’ll just sit here and tell you what you need.” Lin Lubai spoke first, afraid that Xiang Yiyi would ask him to leave as well.

Xiang Yi didn't make a fuss; they are still married and she's pregnant.

That night, Lin Lubai quietly stayed with her. The two of them hardly spoke a word, but Lin Lubai even prepared toiletries for her, showing meticulous care.

Looking at Lin Lubai like this, Xiang Yi felt a pang of sympathy. She had seen another side of him, and this side of him made her feel somewhat uncomfortable.

"Yi Yi, come and eat something. See what you want to eat?" Lin Lubai said gently to Xiang Yi as she came downstairs.

Xiang Yiyi looked much better today than yesterday, and her appetite had also improved considerably.

“Actually, you don’t need to do these things for me,” Xiang Yi said.

"What are your plans for today?" Lin Lubai asked.

"I'd like to go to the store and take a look," Xiang Yi said.

"Then I'll go with you. I happen to be free these days," Lin Lubai said quickly, afraid that Xiang Yiyi would refuse.

"Hmm." However, Xiang Yi didn't say anything, she just nodded.

After the meal, the two went to Grandma's Yi Yi Tailor Shop.

The store was doing fairly well, with three or four customers.
