Don't meet me in your next life.

Chapter 25 Her Attitude

Seeing Xiang Yiyi handling things methodically, Lin Lubai knew that she must have thought it through. He could only wait for her to speak and let her consider him before she did.

After finishing dealing with the tailor shop matter without saying a word, Xiang Yi turned to Lin Lubai and said, "Let's go see a movie."

The movie Xiang Yi chose was a horror blockbuster.

However, Xiang Yi remained indifferent throughout, showing neither surprise nor excitement. When Lin Lubai handed her snacks, she merely smiled and accepted them.

"Yi Yi, how about we go somewhere else to have fun?" Lin Lubai suggested.

"No need, I just want to quietly experience something I've never experienced before," Xiang Yi said with a smile.

Xiang Yi felt a little reluctant to end things with Lin Lubai before they had even had a proper relationship. However, she wanted to give him a chance to choose again and also wanted to give herself some time to reflect. She wanted to complete the things she hadn't finished while her grandmother was still alive.

Thinking of all this, Xiang Yi looked at the roller coaster in front of her, a slight smile playing on her lips—a smile of hope, a hope for life.

Such laughter made Lin Lubai uneasy; he didn't know what Xiang Yiyi was thinking.

"Perhaps, her smile means she's figured it out," Lin Lubai comforted himself.

Watching movies and drinking milk tea, Xiang Yiyi acted normally. When Lin Lubai took her hand, she didn't refuse and even squeezed it back tightly.

In the evening, Lin Lubai wanted to buy groceries and cook, but Xiang Yiyi said she wanted to go out for Western food.

Lin Lubai then took her out for a Western meal, a simple yet heartwarming affair.

During the meal, Xiang Yi told him stories from her childhood and talked about her dream of having a studio. For the first time, Lin Lubai realized that this was a person he did not know.

Lin Lubai had no idea what Xiang Yiyi was thinking. Since Xiang Yiyi didn't mention her future plans, he didn't speak either.

He waited, waiting for her to speak, afraid that he would shatter this beautiful moment. However, Xiang Yi didn't say a word until they went to sleep.

Throughout the day, Xiang Yi rarely spoke, and Lin Lubai quietly kept her company.

That night, Lin Lubai lay next to Xiang Yiyi, feeling uneasy, but Xiang Yiyi took the initiative to hug him.

Xiang Yiyi gently stroked Lin Lubai's face; his features were handsome, his thin lips were sexy, and he was full of allure.

Looking at his near-perfect face, she felt a pang of reluctance. This man was the dream lover of countless women, yet she was planning to let him go.

Actually, she didn't know why she was being so stubborn. Even though he didn't love her, he was really good to her. Even though he had a thousand thoughts he never expressed, he still treated her that way. But this kind of love made Xiang Yi uneasy. She didn't understand him, just as he didn't understand her.

If you don't ask, I won't tell; this is their distance, the distance of love. Rather than losing each other one day, it's better to give each other another chance. Xiang Yi smiled slightly.

Lin Lubai was touched by Xiang Yiyi's hand, and the burning tenderness made him unable to resist any longer. He had suppressed his restlessness for so many days, but now, how could he still hold back? He was not a saint.

At that moment, Lin Lubai could no longer hold back. He rolled over and pressed down on Xiang Yiyi. Afraid of pressing on her lower abdomen, he even propped up his waist so that Xiang Yiyi wouldn't bear the weight of his body.

He leaned down and kissed her soft, moist lips, first gently, then forcefully. He wanted her, to meld her into his very bones.

Xiang Yi sensed his desire and responded passionately.

She thought: I should enjoy this wonderful moment to the fullest before I leave.

Unable to control their desires, the two succumbed to despair in the darkness.

The next day, it was already noon. There wasn't much food in the refrigerator, so Lin Lubai cooked two bowls of noodles for them.

After eating noodles, Xiang Yi suggested going to the amusement park, and Lin Lubai went to get the car.

"Let's go ride the carousel," suggested Yi Yi at the amusement park.

"Okay, I'll go swipe the card." After last night's intimacy, Lin Lubai felt that Yi Yi and his relationship...

That night, Lin Lubai embraced Xiang Yiyi, enjoying the tenderness of the past. However, that night, Xiang Yiyi was unusually crazy, and even flirted with Lin Lubai at dawn.

After the two had breakfast as usual, Xiang Yi said to Lin Lubai, "Lin Lubai, let's get a divorce."

Lin Lubai was stunned for a moment before he came to his senses: "Yi Yi, stop fooling around. Aren't we doing fine? Look how happy we've been these past few days."

“Lin Lubai, our marriage was given to us by my grandmother. Now that she’s gone, it’s time for me to return this stolen happiness,” Xiang Yi said.

“Xiang Yiyi, I told you from the beginning that I wanted to marry you. I told you before Grandma even said anything, didn’t I?” Lin Lubai looked at her.

“Yes, but you also know how ridiculous it was for us to be together, and I’m also Lu Sichen’s ex-girlfriend,” Xiang Yi said.

These words pierced Lin Lubai's heart like a knife; she was absolutely right.

“But we’re already married,” Lin Lubai emphasized.

"Let's get a divorce. Let's give each other a chance to start over. If we're meant to be, we'll meet again at the next intersection," Xiang Yiyi said slowly.

"What about the baby in your belly?" Lin Lubai tried to stop her by using the baby as a pretext.

“I will keep the child, whether you agree or not. If you can’t accept him, then I will make sure he never appears in front of you again.”

"Don't worry, I have money. I can raise the child on my own, and no one will know that the child is related to you, not even your future wife." Xiang Yi thought he was worried that the child would affect his future marriage.

"What are you thinking? He's my child, and no one can change that." Lin Lubai glared at her angrily.

"Is divorce absolutely necessary, Xiang Yiyi?" Lin Lubai emphasized.

"Do you love me?" Xiang Yi asked Lin Lubai.

This question startled Lin Lubai. Did he love her? Or did he not? He was confused.

Lin Lubai picked up his water glass and drank some water; he needed to catch his breath.

“What you feel for me is possessiveness, a sense of responsibility, isn’t it?” Xiang Yi said.

"Xiang Yiyi, how could you think like that? If I didn't love you, what was the point of all those days of tenderness we shared?" Lin Lubai slammed his water glass down on the table.

"Lin Lubai, do you understand me? No. Do I understand you? No."

"You know, when I couldn't get through to you on the phone those two days, I realized how ridiculous our marriage was. I didn't even know who you had who could contact you. In the end, it was Lu Sichen who told me you were alright," Xiang Yi said.

"Xiang Yiyi, didn't I already apologize to you?" Lin Lubai gritted his teeth.

“I don’t blame you. I just feel that we don’t understand each other at all, and this marriage was too hasty,” Xiang Yiyi said firmly.

"Now that we're married, can't we take our time to get to know each other?" Lin Lubai asked her.

“I want to give you another chance to choose. I also want to give myself a chance to start over. If we are destined to be together, we will be together again, won’t we?” Xiang Yi said frankly.

"It has to be a divorce?" Lin Lubai was furious.

"Yes," Xiang Yi nodded firmly. She wanted to use this time after the divorce to do a few things and fulfill a dream she hadn't been able to realize before.

"Okay, as you wish. Don't regret it." Lin Lubai grabbed the car keys.

"Let's go, don't you really want a divorce?" Lin Lubai said to Xiang Yiyi.

He had originally decided never to divorce her, but seeing her resolute attitude, he knew that this marriage was inevitable.
