The Young Swordsman of Dalu

Chapter 145 Wen Fei Escapes Danger, Wen Jie Explores the Northern Dynasty

When Wen Fei saw the formation these martial artists had set up, he suddenly remembered the Flying Sky Formation of the Northern Desert Flying Sky Sword Sect that Li Chaoyang had told them about. He guessed who these people were: they were from the Flying Sky Sword Sect, or more precisely, they were all disciples of Shou Shangxing.

"Senior Shou, you've really done something terrible! You actually taught such a bunch of ungrateful brats!" Wen Fei drew his Meteor Rain Sword and charged into the sword formation.

The Flying Sword Formation may look dazzling, but in the eyes of a true master, it is nothing more than a second-rate formation.

Wen Fei said to Li Wei, "Sit comfortably on your horse." After saying that, he took to the air and looked down at the Flying Sword Formation. Its core was the person in the middle. As long as that person was killed, the Flying Sword Formation would be broken. Without hesitation, Wen Fei stood upside down and directly stabbed the person in the middle with his sword. The person fell down. Sure enough, everyone else lost their footing, and the Flying Sword Formation was thrown into chaos. Wen Fei took the opportunity to wield his Meteor Rain Sword and slaughtered everyone in his path, leaving the Flying Sword Sect completely disoriented.

"The Flying Sword Sect is nothing special!" Wen Fei said.

Suddenly, those people charged towards Li Weishi on horseback. Wen Fei swiftly flew onto the horse, used his Meteor Rain Sword to sweep them away, and protected Li Weishi. Wen Fei looked at Li Weishi with deep affection and asked, "Are you alright?"

"No!" Li Wei said with a smile.

“You Flying Sword Sect members are all shameless scoundrels! Didn’t your master teach you how to be human?” Wen Fei said angrily.

"Master, just teach us the martial arts; everything else is up to us!"

"I will annihilate your Flying Sword Sect today!" Wen Fei swung his sword and charged towards them.

Wen Fei unleashed his boundless power, combined with the Meteor Shower Sword Technique, utterly defeating the Flying Sky Sword Sect members. Just as Wen Fei was about to finish them off, they all threw hidden weapons at Li Wei. Upon seeing this, Wen Fei shouted, "Not good! Li Wei, dodge quickly!"

Li Wei vaguely heard Wen Fei's shout. Startled, she rolled off the horse and fell onto the grass.

Wen Fei glared fiercely at the people of the Flying Sky Sword Sect, his eyes filled with murderous intent. He unleashed the Thunderous Rain Sword Technique, launching a frenzied attack on the group. By the time he withdrew, the entire Flying Sky Sword Sect had already met their demise. Wen Fei was covered in blood, his eyes swollen shut. Without even wiping them away, he rushed to Li Wei's side.

"Li Weishi! How are you?" Wenfei squatted down and hugged Li Weishi in his arms.

"I'm fine." Li Wei slowly opened her eyes.

"Don't lie to me, you really weren't hit by their hidden weapons?" Wen Fei asked.

"Why don't you take a closer look?" Li Wei said, raising his arm.

"That won't be necessary." Wenfei felt a surge of warmth in his heart.

Looking at Wen Fei covered in blood, Li Wei said, "Let's leave this place quickly."

Wenfei lifted Li Wei onto the horse, then mounted himself and pulled Li Wei into his arms before slowly riding away from the Western Regions and onto the land of the Northern Dynasty.

In Sang Ziqi's courtyard, Wenjie stood alone on the roof, gazing at the starry sky.

Sang Ziqi also went up to the roof and, seeing Wenjie's thoughtful expression, said, "What are you thinking about? You seem so deep in thought."

“When Wenfei was little, he always pestered me to go look at the stars with him,” Wenjie said.

“You miss Wenfei,” Sang Ziqi said.

"I wonder how things are between him and Miss Li?" Wenjie said worriedly.

"Don't worry! Wenfei is so clever, he'll be fine," Sang Ziqi reassured him.

“The Northern Desert Tribes were a scam from the start. I don’t know if Wenfei has seen through it yet. I’m worried he might take the risk again,” Wenjie said.

“Wenfei and the others will definitely be alright!” Sang Ziqi said.

“Sang Ziqi! I want to go to the Northern Dynasty tomorrow to find out what they're capable of,” Wenjie said.

“The Northern Dynasty is currently keeping a close watch on us Lu people who are entering their country. If they find out, it will be very dangerous,” Sang Ziqi said.

“I will be careful!” Wenjie said.

“How about I go with you, so we can look out for each other?” Sang Ziqi said.

“No need! You stay at home; Aygul and the children need you,” Wenjie said.

“I’m sending you to the border of the Northern Dynasty and entrusting you to my brothers there,” Sang Ziqi said.

“Since it’s dangerous, let’s not drag others into it. Don’t worry, I’ll be fine,” Wenjie said.

Liang Feiyan stood at the door of the room and overheard Wenjie and the others' conversation. She made a decision in her heart.

Before dawn, Wenjie led his horse out of the courtyard, mounted it, and rode away.

Liang Feiyan also quietly took her horse and walked out of the courtyard, following behind Wenjie.

When Wenjie arrived at the border of the Northern Dynasty, it was already dawn. He sensed someone following him, so he spurred his horse and turned around. Liang Feiyan was galloping towards him.

“Miss Liang! This journey is fraught with danger. I myself cannot guarantee my safe return. You should wait here and not go any further. Wait for me to come back!” Wenjie said.

"I won't drag you down with me!" Liang Feiyan said.

"That's not what I meant!" Wenjie quickly explained.

"We are all doing this for the safety of the Great Lu Kingdom! Let's go! Don't let anyone find out!" Liang Feiyan stepped into the territory of the Northern Dynasty first.

Wenjie shook his head, sighed, and spurred his horse to catch up.

Walking down the streets of Yancheng, the shop assistants were just opening their doors to welcome customers. Some of them were still half asleep and kept yawning.

There were more pedestrians on the street. Wenjie and Liang Feiyan went to a clothing store as soon as they entered the city and bought clothes from the Northern Dynasty to wear.

The two of them walked out onto the street and looked at the passersby, but they could not see any anxiety or unease on the faces of the people caused by the war.

“Let’s find a breakfast stall; that’s where the information came from,” Wenjie said to Liang Feiyan.

Wenjie and his friends walked along the street for a long time before finally seeing a breakfast stall. They found an empty seat, ordered some food, and quietly sat there to eat.

"Hey! Let me tell you something. The day before yesterday, I went to chop firewood behind the mountain, and guess what I saw?" said the person sitting next to Wenjie.

"What did you see?" my deskmate asked.

"Our Northern Dynasty's army is actually training in the back mountains. There are huge numbers of them, at least 200,000, if not more," the man said.

"Training troops? Are we going to war again?" my deskmate asked.

"Who knows!" the man said.

"It's only been a few days since things calmed down. How can ordinary people bear it if war breaks out again?" said one of the other people in the seats.

Wenjie gave Liang Feiyan a wink, and the two put down their rice bowls and walked towards the back mountain one after the other.

Wenjie and Liang Feiyan arrived at the back of the mountain and slowly climbed up. They found a secluded spot, where the sounds of battle were deafening. Looking down the mountain, they saw squads of soldiers practicing their formations, and many Western Region people were training them in horsemanship and archery.

"The Northern Dynasty is about to wage war against my Great Lu Kingdom!" Wenjie said.
