Beast Taming Star Journey
Chapter 424 Facing Danger in an Extraordinary Circumstance, Fighting Back with Strength
Chapter 424
The moment Su Yao pushed me away, a gust of foul wind brushed against my cheek, carrying a nauseating stench. I staggered a few steps to regain my balance, and then I saw clearly what had attacked me—a creature resembling a giant spider, covered in dark green carapace, its eight scarlet eyes gleaming with greed. It brandished its sharp pincers, making a teeth-grinding scraping sound. If it weren't for Su Yao, I would probably already be its meal.
"You beast!" Su Yao roared, her longsword flashing like a silver dragon, striking the giant spider squarely in the abdomen. The spider cried out in pain, letting out a sharp hiss, and green liquid spurted out, corroding the ground with a sizzling sound.
Upon seeing this, the thallium warriors immediately rushed forward, their giant axes cleaving with the force to split mountains and shatter rocks, slashing fiercely at the giant spider. The spider couldn't dodge in time, and one of its legs was severed at the root, letting out a shrill scream.
However, this was just the beginning. From the surrounding darkness, more and more bizarre creatures emerged, each with a different shape and a ferocious appearance, roaring as they pounced towards us.
"Where is this place?" the gold-plated boy cried out in terror, his voice trembling with fear.
"Never mind where we are for now, let's survive first!" the Beastmaster of the Metal-Iridium said in a deep voice. He summoned his beast, a lion engulfed in flames, and it joined the battle.
I immediately summoned my tamed beast—the Howling Moon Wolf. The Howling Moon Wolf instantly grew larger, its snow-white fur shimmering in the dim light, and its golden eyes flashing with a sharp light. I flipped and leaped onto the Howling Moon Wolf's back, looking down at the surrounding monsters from above.
"Awooo—" The Howling Moon Wolf roared to the sky, its deafening howl echoing throughout the alien realm and intimidating the surrounding monsters.
I stood atop the Howling Moon Wolf, like a king reigning supreme, commanding it to charge into the enemy ranks. The Howling Moon Wolf swung its claws and tore at the enemy with its teeth, unstoppable, ripping monsters to shreds.
Su Yao also summoned her tamed beast—a phoenix radiating golden light. The phoenix spread its wings and soared into the sky, spewing forth raging flames that burned the surrounding monsters.
Although the thallium warrior did not wield any beasts, his strength was in no way inferior to ours. He wielded his giant axe with tremendous force, each swing accompanied by a storm of blood and gore.
"These monsters seem to have no sense of pain!" the Mercury Messenger shouted as he dodged the monsters' attacks.
"Then let's wipe them all out!" I shouted back, brandishing my longsword and unleashing bursts of sword energy that cleaved the monsters in two.
The battle lasted a long time, and we gradually felt our strength waning. Although the monsters around us were numerous, their individual strength wasn't particularly high, and we could barely manage to hold them off. However, just then, the ground suddenly shook violently, and a huge crack appeared beneath our feet…
"Watch out!" I yelled, but it was too late. We were sucked into the crevice along with the monsters around us...
After a dizzying spin, we crashed heavily to the ground. I struggled to my feet and found ourselves in an even more bizarre place. Thick fog filled the air, reducing visibility to just a few meters around us. A nauseating, fishy stench permeated the air, making it feel suffocating.
"Su Yao..." I called Su Yao's name softly.
"I'm here." Su Yao's voice came from behind me, her voice trembling slightly.
I turned around and saw Su Yao standing behind me, her face pale and her body trembling slightly. I gently hugged her, and she nestled in my arms, feeling my firm chest, which calmed her down considerably.
Suddenly, a strange sound came from the thick fog... "What was that?"
Su Yao nestled beside me, her body trembling slightly; I could feel her fear. I gently held her, and she buried her head in my chest, as if seeking solace. I could feel her breathing gradually steady, and her tense body slowly relaxing. "Don't be afraid, I'm here," I whispered in her ear, my tone firm yet gentle. She nodded slightly, without speaking, but I knew my words had given her strength.
The eerie sounds emanating from the thick fog grew closer, like the low growl of some creature or the scraping of metal, sending chills down one's spine. The gold-clad youth gripped the platinum-clad strategist's sleeve tightly, his face deathly pale, his lips trembling slightly. The mercury-clad messenger kept wiping the cold sweat from his brow, his eyes filled with anxiety.
Even the usually composed Beastmaster of the Metal-Iridium Clan appeared somewhat uneasy. His beast, a lion engulfed in flames, began pacing restlessly, a deep roar emanating from its throat. It thrashed its tail uneasily, and the flames it spewed became even more intense, causing the surrounding temperature to rise sharply.
"What's going on?" I noticed something was wrong and looked at the Beastmaster.
His brows furrowed, his face grim: "The air here... is not right. My tamed beasts are affected."
No sooner had the words left his mouth than the lion suddenly let out a deafening roar, broke free from the control of the beast tamer, and pounced towards us!
"Watch out!" I shoved Su Yao aside and summoned the Howling Moon Wolf to shield myself. The Howling Moon Wolf let out a low growl and charged at the raging lion. The two powerful beasts instantly clashed, unleashing terrifying roars and howls.
"Control your beast!" I roared at the Iridium Beast Tamer.
His face was pale, and large beads of sweat appeared on his forehead. He kept chanting incantations, trying to control the raging lion, but to no avail. The lion's eyes had turned blood red; it had completely lost its mind and was attacking everything around it in a frenzy.
"Its mind has been corrupted by this foreign aura!" the strategist cried out in terror. "We must leave here as soon as possible!"
Just then, a chilling roar suddenly erupted from the thick fog, sharper and more terrifying than the previous sounds. The surrounding fog began to churn, as if something was rapidly approaching.
"Oh no!" My heart sank, and an ominous premonition surged into my mind.
As the thick fog dissipated, a group of terrifying, exotic creatures appeared before us. They were tall and had ferocious faces, their bodies covered in hard, metallic-looking carapaces. Their eyes burned like flames, radiating a bloodthirsty light.
I gripped my longsword tightly, took a deep breath, and said to Su Yao, "Take care of yourself."
Su Yao nodded, a resolute glint in her eyes. She summoned the golden phoenix, preparing for the upcoming battle.
The thallium warrior gripped his giant axe tightly, his eyes burning with fighting spirit. He stepped forward, blocking our path, and said in a deep voice, "Come on, let me see what these monsters are capable of!"
From the thick fog, even more exotic creatures emerged, surrounding us completely. They roared deafeningly as they closed in…
"Kill!" I roared, and the Howling Moon Wolf let out a deafening howl, charging towards the enemy first... My sword was already drawn.
The Howling Moon Wolf transformed into a bolt of silver lightning, slamming violently into an alien creature. The creature let out a shrill howl, its massive body sent flying, crashing heavily to the ground. I was delighted; it seemed the Howling Moon Wolf's strength wasn't significantly suppressed in this alien space.
However, my joy did not last long. More exotic creatures emerged from the thick fog, surrounding us like a tide. These creatures varied in shape; some resembled giant spiders, some winged lizards, and some humanoid beasts, but they all had one thing in common: their eyes emitted a chilling red light.
"Watch out for their claws!" roared the thallium warrior, his massive axe swung with tremendous force, cleaving a spider-like creature that tried to approach him in two. Green blood spurted out, emitting a pungent, fishy stench.
I dared not be careless, and swung my sword at a lizard-like creature that lunged at me. My blade sliced through its carapace with a screeching sound, but left only a shallow mark. This creature's carapace was incredibly hard!
"Their defenses are very strong; we must attack their weaknesses!" Su Yao's voice came from behind me. She rode a golden phoenix, circling in the air, occasionally spewing out streams of golden flames that burned several alien creatures to ashes.
I noticed that while these creatures had hard shells, their joints were relatively vulnerable. I changed my attack strategy, targeting their joints specifically. Sure enough, my attack worked; a spider-like creature had its leg severed, let out a shrill scream, and collapsed to the ground, struggling.
The battle grew increasingly fierce, the air thick with the stench of blood and a dense fog. My body was covered in green blood, and my breathing became rapid. There were simply too many of these alien creatures, and they were fearless, continuing their frenzied attacks even when severely wounded.
The Iridium Beastmaster finally brought his lion under control, but the lion was clearly in poor condition, covered in wounds and its breath becoming weak and feeble. The Gold Youth hid behind the Platinum Strategist, pale-faced and trembling. The Mercury Messenger kept muttering something, seemingly in prayer.
"This won't do, we'll be worn down!" I shouted.
"We must find a breakthrough!" Su Yao responded.
Just then, I noticed a gigantic figure emerging from the depths of the thick fog. The figure was taller than the surrounding alien creatures, radiating a suffocating aura of power.
"What is that?" My heart sank, and an ominous premonition welled up inside me.
Su Yao also saw the figure, and her expression turned serious: "Oh no, that must be the leader of these creatures!"
The enormous figure slowly approached us, the ground trembling slightly with each step. Thick fog swirled around it, as if submitting to its majesty.
"Prepare for battle!" I gripped my longsword tightly and took a deep breath.
Su Yao's phoenix let out a clear cry, and golden flames ignited on her body. The giant axe of the metallurgical warrior also gleamed with a cold light, and his eyes burned with fierce fighting spirit.
"Here it comes!" the thallium warrior shouted as he faced the enormous figure.
I……
