Beast Taming Star Journey
Chapter 401 Fierce Battle Displays Might
Chapter 401
A thick stench of blood mingled with the stench of wild beasts, filling the air and irritating my nostrils. I swung my longsword, cleaving a ferocious monster in two. Hot blood splattered across my face; I wiped it haphazardly, my gaze fixed intently ahead. The vanguard of the dark forces had been defeated, but the real test had only just begun.
That black torrent, like a steel beast, was crushing towards us. Their heavy black armor reflected a cold light in the sunlight, and the demonic beasts they rode roared deafeningly, their imposing aura overwhelming. I felt a chill run from the soles of my feet to the top of my head.
“There are too many of them!” The beast tamer’s voice trembled slightly, and the giant lizard beside him also let out an uneasy growl.
"What are you afraid of? We outnumber them!" Although I said that, I knew in my heart that the individual combat capabilities of this elite unit far exceeded those of the previous vanguard units, and this tough battle would not be easy.
Su Yao stood beside me, the spear in her hand gleaming with dazzling golden light, like a war goddess, ready to meet the enemy at any moment. I squeezed her hand and gave her an encouraging look.
Just then, the gold-plated boy pointed into the distance and exclaimed, "What...what is that...?"
I looked in the direction he was pointing and saw a tall figure slowly approaching from behind the elite forces of the dark forces. He was cloaked in black, obscuring his face, but the powerful aura emanating from him sent chills down my spine.
"It's a Thallium Warrior!" The strategist's voice carried a hint of awe. "He's one of the most powerful warriors in the dark forces, his strength comparable to a Beastmaster!"
My heart sank. A Beast Taming Master! That's someone who stands at the very top of the Beast Taming world!
However, what happened next left me and everyone else speechless. The thallium warrior walked up to the elite forces of the dark forces and suddenly attacked! He didn't use any weapons, but simply swung his fists, each punch carrying overwhelming force, sending the heavily armored soldiers and magical beasts flying like rag dolls.
He charged into a flock of sheep like a tiger, leaving devastation in his wake. The elite forces of the dark side were utterly powerless against him!
"This..." The beast tamer stared in disbelief. "He really came to help us?"
The strategist smiled and said, "Of course, we have already reached a cooperation agreement."
The appearance of the Thallium Warrior completely turned the tide of the battle. The once-aggressive elite forces of the dark forces were routed by him alone, and the remaining soldiers scattered and fled.
I took a deep breath, feeling a significant reduction in the pressure on my body. However, I didn't let my guard down, because I knew this was just the beginning. This battle was far from over; even greater challenges awaited us.
I turned to look at Su Yao and noticed that her face was somewhat pale, and fine beads of sweat were forming on her forehead. I knew that the long battle had taken a toll on her strength.
"Are you alright?" I asked with concern.
Su Yao forced a smile: "It's nothing, I'm just a little tired."
Seeing how exhausted she looked, a pang of heartache welled up inside me... Su Yao gently stroked my cheek...
Su Yao gently stroked my cheek, her eyes filled with worry and tenderness. "You're too tired, Yu." Her voice was as soft as a feather, yet carried a firm strength. A warm current flowed from her palm into my body, and the fatigue receded like a tide, replaced by a powerful and comfortable feeling. This was not just a restoration of strength, but also a solace for the soul. On the bloody and cruel battlefield, this warmth was especially precious.
I held her hand, our fingers intertwined, feeling the warmth of her palm. "I'm fine," I smiled at her, trying to reassure her, "This isn't something that can tire me out." Although I said that, I knew in my heart that the brutality of this battle far exceeded my imagination.
“Fool,” she gently scolded, her eyes filled with tenderness, “always trying to be strong.” She raised her head, her gaze sweeping over the chaotic battlefield, and said firmly, “Leave the rest to me.”
The golden light emanating from her suddenly intensified, the spear in her hand hummed, and a powerful aura erupted from her. I looked at her, my heart filled with admiration and love. Even on such a brutal battlefield, she remained radiant, like a blooming golden lotus.
However, just when we thought victory was in sight, the elite forces of the dark forces suddenly changed. They began to emanate eerie black mist, chanting incantations, and an unsettling aura filled the air. "Be careful!" My inner alarm bells rang, and a sense of foreboding washed over me.
The black mist gradually condensed, forming hideous ghostly faces that emitted sharp, piercing cries as they lunged at us. These faces could not only attack our bodies but also affect our minds, causing hallucinations and restlessness.
"What the hell is this?!" Yi Beastmaster exclaimed as his giant lizard was entangled by a ghostly face, letting out a painful roar.
"It's dark magic!" Platinum Strategist's expression turned serious. "I didn't expect them to have such a trump card."
We were locked in a fierce battle. These ghouls were incredibly fast and numerous, making them impossible to defend against. I swung my longsword, cleaving the ghouls apart one by one, but they would quickly reform, seemingly endless.
Su Yao was also in trouble. Although she was powerful, she seemed somewhat powerless against these strange spells. I saw beads of sweat on her forehead and felt a deep sense of worry.
Just then, the Thallium Warrior suddenly roared, his black cloak billowing without wind, and a powerful force erupted from him, shattering the surrounding ghost faces. He was like a god descending to earth, unstoppable, and once again turned the tide of battle.
Just when we thought victory was in sight, a black pillar of light shot into the sky from the edge of the battlefield… I felt an unprecedented sense of oppression, as if my heart was being squeezed by an invisible hand… The strategist's face turned deathly pale, and he muttered to himself, “No… this is impossible…”
